Born in London, England, Hope arrived in America with his family at the age of four and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He began his career in show business in the early 1920s, initially on stage, and began appearing on the radio and in films in 1934. He was praised for his comedy timing, specializing in one-liners and rapid-fire delivery of jokes—which were often self-deprecating, with Hope building himself up and then tearing himself down. Celebrated for his long career performing United Service Organizations (USO) shows to entertain active service American military personnel—he made 57 tours for the USO between 1941 and 1991—Hope was declared an honorary veteran of the United States Armed Forces in 1997 by act of the U.S. Congress. He also appeared in numerous specials for NBC television, starting in 1950, and was one of the first users of cue cards.
Born in Bridge of Allan, Scotland, Hope played for West Brom between 1959 and 1972. A cultured, scheming inside-forward, he was the general in the team's midfield throughout the 1960s. Together with Clive Clark on the wing, Hope provided the ammunition for players like Tony Brown and Jeff Astle. Hope enjoyed success during this period, winning the League Cup in 1966 and FA Cup in 1968. He scored Albion's first goal in European competition when he found the net against DOS Utrecht in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup on 2 November 1966.
Music of the Sun is the debut studio album by Barbadian recording artist Rihanna. It was released by Def Jam Recordings on August 30, 2005. Prior to signing with Def Jam, Rihanna was discovered by record producerEvan Rogers in Barbados, who helped Rihanna record demo tapes to send out to several record labels. Jay-Z, the former chief executive officer (CEO) and president of Def Jam, was given Rihanna's demo by Jay Brown, his A&R at Def Jam, and invited her to audition for the label after hearing what turned out to be her first single, "Pon de Replay". She auditioned for Jay-Z and L.A. Reid, the former CEO and president of record label group The Island Def Jam Music Group, and was signed on the spot to prevent her from signing with another record label.

Robert Reginald "Bob" Hope is a fictional character from the British soap opera Emmerdale, played by Tony Audenshaw. He made his first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 19 September 2000.
Casting
Tony Audenshaw auditioned for the role of Bob, a love interest for established character Viv Windsor, in 2000.Deena Payne, who played Viv, was screen tested with Audenshaw and five other actors and when the producer asked if she had a preference, she replied that she did not like the fourth actor, who turned out to be Audenshaw. A couple of weeks later, the producer told Payne that Audenshaw had been cast as Bob. Payne told Tony Purnell from the Daily Mirror that she dreaded her first scene with Audenshaw and was nervous about "getting up close and personal" with him.
However, when the two actors got talking in between scenes, they started to get on well. Audenshaw commented "I'm aware Deena didn't think I was right for the part at first. But we clicked early on and have built up a great working relationship. People assume she is like Viv – a nightmare on the set and a bitch to work with. I just say, 'Yeah, she is', but I'm only joking." Audenshaw said that he loved the comedy aspect to Bob, but was not keen on his "ludicrous hairstyle". The actor explained that it took ages "to quiff up" and spray it, so it would stay in place.

Bob Hope | Insults | Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and more!
Here's a collection of classic insults that Bob has received with a smile through the years.
Bob Hope
Bob Hope rose to the top of every medium he touched: headliner in Vaudeville, Broadway star, radio icon, movie idol and superstar on television. His persona reached audiences of every age in every decade of the 20 th century.
A popular star in Vaudeville, it was Broadway’s “Roberta” where Bob eventually caught the eyes of critics. In 1938, NBC signed him for a radio show that became a fixture in American homes. It wasn’t long before Paramount called on Bob. He went on to make 50+ feature films, including the hugely popular “Road Pictures” with Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour. In 1950, his TV career officially launched with “Star Spangled Revue.”

Bobby Fischer Meets Bob Hope -- Hilarious!
I do not own copyright privileges to this video, but I think it is worthy of public scrutiny to show a historical perspective to Bobby Fischer's character just after winning the World Chess Championship in 1972. True, the dialogue is scripted, but the skit shows Bobby's good humor, sportsmanship and acting skills! To his credit, Bob Hope helped to endear Bobby Fischer to the American public not only as a national hero but also as a pretty funny guy too!

Our lady known as Paris Romantic and charming Has left her old companions And faded from view Lonely men with lonely eyes Are seeking her in pain Her streets are where they were But there's no sign of her, she has left the scene The last time I saw Paris Her heart was warm and gay I heard the laughter of her heart In every street cafe The last time I saw Paris Her trees were dressed for spring And lovers walked beneath those trees And birds found songs to sing I dodged the same old taxi cabs That I had dodged for years The chorus of this quicky horn Was music to my ears The last time I saw Paris Her heart was young and gay No matter how they change her
