Eastern Mediterranean Port Review - 9 ports in 9 days
I recently spent 9 days cruising around the Adriatic and the Eastern Mediterranean on the Norwegian Gem. I picked the cruise as it offered 9 ports in 9 days and in this video I'll briefly review each port. We visited some famous places and visiting by cruise is a great way of seeing a lot of places in a short time.
I'll also talk a little about the logistics of visiting each place on a cruise. I found it quite hard to find info about each place before I visited, so hopefully this will be helpful to future travellers.

Why the Mediterranean Sea is so damn Important
The Mediterranean is one of the world’s most strategic seas, as important as the South China Sea. This region is now seeing a Geopolitics resurgence in conflicts and tension over its waters. The shift of America’s foreign policy to the Indo-Pacific and China; the increasing tension between Greece and Turkey; the expansion of the Dubai and Ankara strategy over the Middle East and North Africa; and the increasing interests of Russia and China in the region are all determining factors in the degradation of the Mediterranean security environment.
The conflict in Libya is an example of the Mediterranean strategic relevance. In this video we will analyze the main actors and resons behing this major conflict.

Tensions escalate between Greece and Turkey in eastern Mediterranean
After weeks of tensions in the Mediterranean Sea, Greece and Turkey have stepped up rival military manoeuvres in recent days. The two countries are at odds over maritime borders, but also - and above all - the search for undersea oil and gas. Concerned by the risk of further escalation, the European Union is calling for dialogue between Athens and Ankara. We take a closer look.

Aerial footage shows migrant ship hours before capsize in Mediterranean
The European Border and Coast Guard Agency has released footage of the fishing trawler that sunk in the Mediterranean Sea with hundreds of people on board, hours before it capsized.
Subscribe to Guardian News on YouTube ► http://bit.ly/guardianwiressub
The aerial footage was taken by a surveillance aircraft on the morning of 13 June. An initial investigation by police in Pakistan estimated that about 800 people were onboard while Greek authorities say 104 survivors and 78 bodies have so far been brought ashore. Relatives of the passengers onboard have arrived at a migrant holding centre in Malakasa, in hopes of tracking down family members as the UN estimate up to 500 people are still missing.

Lastly, the project would unite Europe and Africa into a new supercontinent called Atlantropa. While Herman Sorgel promised a list of benefits for Atlantropa, the reality would be much different. It would strand historic coastal cities inland, all the new exposed land would be salt flats, it would displace millions, cost trillions of dollars and when introduced, would have allowed Europeans powers to exploit Africa.

The European Border and Coast Guard Agency has released footage of the fishing trawler that sunk in the Mediterranean Sea with hundreds of people on board, hours before it capsized.
