Epic poetry
An epic poem, epic (from Latin epicus, from the Ancient Greek adjective ἐπικός, epikos, from ἔπος, epos, "word, story, poem"), epos (from Latin epos, from Greek ἔπος, epos), or epopee (from French épopée, from neo-Latin epopoeia ) is a lengthy narrative poem, ordinarily concerning a serious subject containing details of heroic deeds and events significant to a culture or nation.Milman Parry and Albert Lord have argued that the Homeric epics, the earliest works of Western literature, were fundamentally an oral poetic form. These works form the basis of the epic genre in Western literature. Nearly all Western epic (including Virgil's Aeneid and Dante's Divine Comedy) self-consciously presents itself as a continuation of the tradition begun by these poems. Classical epic employs dactylic hexameter and recounts a journey, either physical (as typified by Odysseus in the Odyssey) or mental (as typified by Achilles in the Iliad) or both. Epics also tend to highlight cultural norms and to define or call into question cultural values, particularly as they pertain to heroism.

The Light (Common song)
"The Light" is the Grammy-nominated second single from Common's 2000 album Like Water for Chocolate. It was produced by Jay Dee and features keyboards performed by James Poyser. It samples "Open Your Eyes" as performed by Bobby Caldwell and the drums from "You're Gettin' a Little Too Smart" by The Detroit Emeralds. Framed as a love letter, it is a confession of Common's love for a woman - specifically, his girlfriend at the time, Erykah Badu (in 2012, Common acknowledged via a video for the website RapGenius that the song was about her). Cynthia Fuchs of PopMatters describes it as a "charming, tender, and undeniably soulful declaration of affection and respect." A music video directed by Nzingha Stewart features Common, Erykah Badu and "recognizable sensual delights" including "a homemade Minnie Ripperton cassette, a mango, a pink lava lamp [and] a deeply green water-beaded leaf."
The song was listed at #268 on Pitchfork Media's "Top 500 songs of the 2000s".

Charge (TV series)
Charge was originally produced as a youth television show aimed at showcasing viewer's user-generated content. It was broadcast on the Media Trust’s Community Channel on Sky channel 539, Virgin TV channel 233 and Freeview channel 87 in the UK.
After the second series it was decided to expand charge into a separate youth strand on the Community Channel and it ran in this form for two series.
Content
Targeted at 16- to 25-year-olds, the first two series were dedicated to showcasing viewer's originally produced content and featured a mixture of music videos, drama, comedy and documentary. Series 3 and 4 concentrated on dealing with a different issue each week that affect young people and featured studio guests and series produced by young television producers including The House and True Tube.
Specials
There were a number of special produced for Charge including Street Crime UK – a series of short documentaries from around the UK looking at knife and gun crime, and McConville Reports following a young trainee journalist’s quest to interview the leaders of Britain’s leading parties.

Criminal charge
A criminal charge is a formal accusation made by a governmental authority asserting that somebody has committed a crime. A charging document, which contains one or more criminal charges or counts, can take several forms, including:
The charging document is what generally starts a criminal case in court. But the procedure by which somebody is charged with a crime and what happens when somebody has been charged varies from country to country and even, within a country, from state to state.
Before a person is proven guilty, the charge must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
Punishment
There can be multiple punishments due to certain criminal charges. Minor criminal charges such as misdemeanors, tickets, and infractions have less harsh punishments. The judge usually sentences the person accused of committing the charges right after the hearing. The punishments generally include things like fines, suspension, probation, a small amount of jail time, or alcohol and drug classes. If the criminal charges are considered more serious like a felony then there is a more lengthy process for determining the punishment. Felonies include the most serious crimes such as murder and treason. There is a separate trial to determine the punishments for the criminal charges committed.

HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I
HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I (usually shortened to HIStory) is the ninth overall studio album and his fifth under Epic Records by American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was released on June 16, 1995 by Epic Records. This is Jackson's first album on his own label, MJJ Productions, and consists of two discs: the first disc (HIStory Begins) is a compilation of some of his greatest hits from 1979 onward, while the second disc (HIStory Continues) is a studio album composed entirely of new material. The majority of the second disc's tracks were written and produced by Jackson, often in conjunction with collaborators.
HIStory was Jackson's return to releasing music following the accusation of child sexual abuse in August 1993. Many of the 15 songs pertain to the accusations and Jackson's mistreatment in the media, specifically the tabloids. The songs' themes include environmental awareness, isolation, greed, suicide and injustice.
HIStory is Jackson's most controversial album. Jackson was accused of using anti-Semitic lyrics in "They Don't Care About Us". Jackson stated that he did not mean any offense and on multiple occasions denied anti-Semitism. The dispute regarding the lyrics ended with Jackson re-recording them. R. Kelly was accused of plagiarizing one of the album's songs, "You Are Not Alone". In 2007 a judge ruled that the song was plagiarized and the song was subsequently banned from radio stations in Belgium.

History 101 (Community)
"History 101" is the first episode of the fourth season of Community, which originally aired on February 7, 2013 on NBC. The episode was written by Andy Bobrow and directed by Tristram Shapeero. The episode makes heavy use of a parody focusing on The Hunger Games. This episode marks the first in the series to have no involvement from series creator Dan Harmon.
Plot
The episode begins in an imaginary version of Greendale Community College created in the mind of Abed, entitled "Abed's Happy Community College Show", which features parody elements poking fun at sitcom cliches, including the use of multi-camera production, a laugh track and the character of "Pierce" being portrayed by a guest star (Fred Willard). Abed is using the fictional show as a coping mechanism to deal with fear of losing the study group following graduation.
In the real world, the study group assembles at Greendale to take part in their new History class ("History of Ice Cream"), only to discover that the class was over-booked due to forgery. Dean Pelton, in an effort to award seats to the appropriate number of students, organizes The Hunger Deans, a series of physical challenges which will grant seats in the class.

Jump (Madonna song)
"Jump" is a song by American singer Madonna from her tenth studio album Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005). Written by Madonna, Stuart Price and Joe Henry, the song was supposed to be released as the third single of the album. However, since "Get Together" was decided as the third single, "Jump" was released as the fourth and final single from the album, on October 31, 2006 by Warner Bros. Records. The song incorporates techno music with tributes to Pet Shop Boys. Madonna sings in her lower register in the song. Its lyrics talk about self-empowerment and sufficiency while looking for the prospects of a new relationship.
Contemporary critics complimented the song and its empowerment theme. They compared it to Madonna's '80s music and praised the club-anthem like quality of the song. The song peaked inside the top ten of the charts of some European countries, while peaking the charts in Italy and Hungary. In the United States, "Jump" placed in several Billboard dance charts and became one of the most popular dance hits of the decade.

"The Charge of the Light Brigade" is an 1854 narrative poem by Alfred, Lord Tennyson about the charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War with Russia.
The poem was written after the Light Cavalry Brigade suffered great casualties in the Battle. Tennyson wrote the poem based on two articles published in 'The Times': the first, published November 13th 1854, contained the sentence "The British soldier will do his duty, even to certain death, and is not paralysed by the feeling that he is a victim of some hideous blunder," the last three words of which provided the inspiration for his phrase "Some one had blundered". The poem was written in a few minutes on December 2nd of the same year, based on a recollection of The Time's account.
At the suggestion of Jane, Lady Tennyson, Tennyson sent a thousand copies of a single-sheet version of the poem to be distributed among soldiers in the Crimea.
Tennyson recited his poem onto a wax-cylinder in 1890.

The Charge of the Light Brigade was a failed military action involving the British light cavalry led by Lord Cardigan. However, there was a miscommunication in the chain of command and the Light Brigade was instead sent on a frontal assault against a artillery battery, one well-prepared with excellent fields of defensive fire. The Light Brigade reached the battery under withering direct fire and scattered some of the gunners, but they were forced to retreat immediately.
The events were the subject of Alfred, Lord Tennyson's narrative poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade" (1854), published just six weeks after the event. Its lines emphasize the valour of the cavalry in bravely carrying out their orders, regardless of the nearly inevitable outcome.
The poem in this video is narrated by Shane Morris (an award winning voice actor). We took care to edit the audio as perfectly as we can.

"The Charge of the Light Brigade" is an 1854 narrative poem by Alfred, Lord Tennyson about the charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War with Russia.
The poem was written after the Light Cavalry Brigade suffered great casualties in the Battle. Tennyson wrote the poem based on two articles published in 'The Times': the first, published November 13th 1854, contained the sentence "The British soldier will do his duty, even to certain death, and is not paralysed by the feeling that he is a victim of some hideous blunder," the last three words of which provided the inspiration for his phrase "Some one had blundered". The poem was written in a few minutes on December 2nd of the same year, based on a recollection of The Time's account.
At the suggestion of Jane, Lady Tennyson, Tennyson sent a thousand copies of a single-sheet version of the poem to be distributed among soldiers in the Crimea.
Tennyson recited his poem onto a wax-cylinder in 1890.

The Charge of the Light Brigade was a failed military action involving the British light cavalry led by Lord Cardigan. However, there was a miscommunication in the chain of command and the Light Brigade was instead sent on a frontal assault against a artillery battery, one well-prepared with excellent fields of defensive fire. The Light Brigade reached the battery under withering direct fire and scattered some of the gunners, but they were forced to retreat immediately.
The events were the subject of Alfred, Lord Tennyson's narrative poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade" (1854), published just six weeks after the event. Its lines emphasize the valour of the cavalry in bravely carrying out their orders, regardless of the nearly inevitable outcome.
The poem in this video is narrated by Shane Morris (an award winning voice actor). We took care to edit the audio as perfectly as we can.

Epic poetry
An epic poem, epic (from Latin epicus, from the Ancient Greek adjective ἐπικός, epikos, from ἔπος, epos, "word, story, poem"), epos (from Latin epos, from Greek ἔπος, epos), or epopee (from French épopée, from neo-Latin epopoeia ) is a lengthy narrative poem, ordinarily concerning a serious subject containing details of heroic deeds and events significant to a culture or nation.Milman Parry and Albert Lord have argued that the Homeric epics, the earliest works of Western literature, were fundamentally an oral poetic form. These works form the basis of the epic genre in Western literature. Nearly all Western epic (including Virgil's Aeneid and Dante's Divine Comedy) self-consciously presents itself as a continuation of the tradition begun by these poems. Classical epic employs dactylic hexameter and recounts a journey, either physical (as typified by Odysseus in the Odyssey) or mental (as typified by Achilles in the Iliad) or both.
