The film stars Lucy Deakins as 14 year-old Milly Michaelson, Jay Underwood as Eric Gibb, a boy with autism, Bonnie Bedelia as Milly's mother, Fred Savage as Milly's little brother, Colleen Dewhurst as a teacher, Fred Gwynne as Eric's uncle, Janet MacLachlan, and Mindy Cohn. After the suicide of her terminally ill father, Milly becomes friends with Eric, who lost both of his parents to a plane crash. Together, Eric and Milly find ways to cope with the loss and the pain as they escape to faraway places.
Plot
Fourteen-year-old Amelia "Milly" Michaelson (Deakins) and her family move into a new suburban home shortly after the death of her father. Milly makes friends with her new neighbor Geneva, and Milly and her eight-year-old brother Louis (Savage) have difficulty adjusting to their new schools, while their mother Charlene (Bedelia) copes with a demotion at work and her inability to learn how to use a computer. Louis is also plagued by bullies down the street who won't let him get around the block.
During the first night at the house, Charlene tells Milly she will need her help to make this work. Milly returns to her bedroom and is talking to her pet bird when something flies past the window, but when Milly goes to investigate she sees nothing.
The Boy Who Could Fly is a 2015 American live-action fantasy film directed by Julian Sol Jordan. The film is a adaptation of Scottish author J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan story, first staged in 1904. It stars Felix Delaughter, Oscar Delaughter, Julius Delaughter, and Julian Jordan as Peter Pan. It serves as a Peter Pan adaptation about one of Peter Pan's Lost Boys.
Selfish Machines is the second studio album from post-hardcore band Pierce the Veil, released by Equal Vision on June 22, 2010. It was produced by Vic Fuentes and Mike Green, and recorded between late 2009 and early 2010. Fuentes wrote most of the songs by himself, and co-wrote three songs with ex-A Day to Remember guitarist Tom Denney. Vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, also of A Day to Remember, guested on the track "Caraphernelia", which had its music video released on September 28. "Bulletproof Love" was released as the follow-up music video on July 7, 2011. Although the album was met with a varied critical reception, with reviewers criticizing the use of auto-tune on the tracks, it appeared on several American Billboard charts, including its Top Heatseekers and 200 chart. The album was reissued, with remixed production, on September 24, 2013.
Background and recording
After finishing the 2009 Taste of Chaos tour, Pierce the Veil were writing, demoing, recording and new material at a home studio in San Diego. In an interview with AbsolutePunk in early 2009, guitarist and vocalist Vic Fuentes revealed the band's next album would be influenced by their fans. Fuentes also said in the interview that he was uncertain when the album would be released, but that it would be released by Equal Vision.Selfish Machines, along with the band's next album Collide with the Sky (2012), was written in a cabin that belonged to Fearless Records president Bob Becker. The album was initially planned to be recorded between December 2009 and January 2010 in Los Angeles with producer Mike Green, with a planned release later that year. Green was selected as the producer as albums he had previously worked on "sounded amazing", as Fuentes commented, and that he was "a very down to earth and passionate person."
