Sixth grade (called Grade 6 in some regions) is a year of education in many nations, and usually the start of middle school (USA) and in other countries it is the last year of Primary level (Elementary). It is for students ages 11–13.
In Senegal, it would correspond to 6ème Lycee. It is the first grade of the third cycle called Collège (French).
In Morocco, it would correspond to the sixth and the last year of elementary school. It is the last year before middle school.
In Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran and India, sixth grade is called Class 6.
In China, 6th grade would be the last year of elementary school. The students would be 11 or 12 years old.
In Malaysia, the equivalent is Year 6 also known as Standard 6, as the Malaysia academic year starts in January, unlike in Europe, Canada, and the United States where it starts in August. Students will sit for an important exam called Ujian Pentaksiran Sekolah Rendah (UPSR), which translates from Malay into English as "Low/Elementary School Assessment Test".
In the sport of bouldering, problems are assigned technical grades according to several established systems, which are often distinct from those used in roped climbing. Bouldering grade systems in wide use include the Hueco "V" grades (known as the V-scale), Fontainebleau technical grades, route colors, Peak District grades, and British technical grades. Historically, the three-level "B" system and even the Yosemite Decimal System (sometimes with a "B" prepended, as in "B5.12") were also used.
The B-System conceived by John Gill in the 1950s was a universal rating scheme for bouldering, having three categories: "B1" was defined as "... the highest level of difficulty in traditional roped climbing", "B2" was harder than B1, or "bouldering level", and the grade "B3" designated a route ascended only once, although tried by others on several occasions. When a B3 was ascended a second time, it was reclassified as a B2, or B1. Gill's idea was to attract climbers to the "new" sport of bouldering, but discourage turning that sport into a numbers race. His system depended heavily on traditional climbing standards, long before sport climbing came into existence. It was assumed that the scale would shift as traditional difficulty levels rose. Thus, e.g., a B1(1958) would be easier than a B1(1968).
Grading in education is the process of applying standardized measurements of varying levels of achievement in a course. Another way the grade point average (GPA) can be determined is through extra curricular activities. Grades can be assigned as letters (generally A through F), as a range (for example 1 to 6), as a percentage of a total number of questions answered correctly, or as a number out of a possible total (for example out of 20 or 100).
In some countries, all grades from all current classes are averaged to create a Grade Point Average (GPA) for the marking period. The GPA is calculated by taking the number of grade points a student earned in a given period of time of middle school through high school. GPAs are also calculated for undergraduate and graduate students in most universities. The GPA can be used by potential employers or educational institutions to assess and compare applicants. A cumulative grade point average is a calculation of the average of all of a student's grades for all of his or her complete education career.
In taxonomy, a group is paraphyletic if it consists of the group's last common ancestor and all descendants of that ancestor excluding a few—typically only one or two—monophyletic subgroups. The group is said to be paraphyletic with respect to the excluded subgroups. The term is commonly used in phylogenetics (a subfield of biology) and in linguistics.
The term was coined to apply to well-known taxa like reptiles (Reptilia) which, as commonly named and traditionally defined, is paraphyletic with respect to mammals and birds. Reptilia contains the last common ancestor of reptiles and all descendants of that ancestor—including all extant reptiles as well as the extinct mammal-like reptiles—except for mammals and birds. Other commonly recognized paraphyletic groups include fish and lizards.
If many subgroups are missing from the named group, it is said to be polyparaphyletic. A paraphyletic group cannot be a clade, which is a monophyletic group.
Shorts are a garment worn by both men and women over their pelvic area, circling the waist and splitting to cover the upper part of the legs, sometimes extending down to the knees but not covering the entire length of the leg. They are called "shorts" because they are a shortened version of trousers, which cover the entire leg. Shorts are typically worn in warm weather or in an environment where comfort and air flow are more important than the protection of the legs.
There are a variety of shorts, ranging from knee-length short trousers that can in some situations be worn as formal clothes to beachwear and athletic shorts. Some types of shorts are typically worn by women, such as culottes, which are a divided skirt resembling a pair of loose-cut shorts.
In British English the term "short trousers" has been used, but only for shorts that are a short version of real trousers (pants), e.g. tailored shorts, often lined, as typically worn as part of school uniform for boys up to their early teens, and by servicemen and policemen in tropical climates. The American term "short pants" is probably the nearest equivalent in the US, there they might now be called "dress shorts", a term that has not gained much currency in Britain. A somewhat similar garment worn by men in Australia is called "stubbies". "Shorts" is used unqualified in British English to refer to sports shorts, athletic shorts, or casual shorts: the last is nowadays commonplace in warm weather in the UK.
Shorts (also known as Shorts: The Adventures of the Wishing Rock, Shorts: A Not So Tall Tale only on the trailer and released internationally as The Wishing Rock) is a 2009 American sci-fi fantasy adventurelm which incorporates both live action and CGI animation. The film was written and directed by Robert Rodriguez, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, co-produced by Imagenation Abu Dhabi, Lin Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, Media Rights Capital and Troublemaker Studios with music by Rodriguez, George Oldziey and Carl Thiel and produced by Rodriguez and Elizabeth Avellán for Media Rights Capital.
The film stars Jon Cryer, William H. Macy, Leslie Mann, James Spader, Jimmy Bennett and Kat Dennings. The special effects were done by KNB EFX Group, Troublemaker Digital Studios and Hybride Technologies for the animation.
Shorts: The Adventures of the Wishing Rock was theatrically released in the United States on August 21, 2009 by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film earned $29 million on a $20 million budget. It also received a Young Artist Award nomination for Best Performance in a Feature Film.
The Short 330 (also SD3-30) is a small transport aircraft produced by Short Brothers. It seats up to 30 people and was relatively inexpensive and had low maintenance costs at the time of its introduction in 1976. The 330 was based on the SC.7 Skyvan.
The Short 330 was developed by Short Brothers of Belfast from Short's earlier Short Skyvan STOL utility transport. The 330 had a longer wingspan and fuselage than the Skyvan, while retaining the Skyvan's square-shaped fuselage cross section, allowing it to carry up to 30 passengers while retaining good short field characteristics. The first prototype of the 330 flew on 22 August 1974.
The Short 330 is unusual in having all of its fuel contained in tanks located directly above the ceiling of the passenger cabin. There are two separate cockpit doors for pilot and co-pilot for access from inside the cabin.
While Short concentrated on producing airliners, the design also spawned two freight versions. The first of these, the Short 330-UTT (standing for Utility Tactical Transport), was a military transport version fitted with a strengthened cabin floor and paratroop doors, which was sold in small numbers, primarily to Thailand, which purchased four. The Short Sherpa was a freighter fitted with a full-width rear cargo door/ramp. This version first flew on 23 December 1982, with the first order, for 18 aircraft, being placed by the United States Air Force (USAF) in March 1983, for the European Distribution System Aircraft (EDSA) role, to fly spare parts between USAF bases within Europe.

Elizabeth Wissner-Gross, author of best-selling books on education, and Founder and President of Educational Strategies, shares her epiphany on why American schools lag far behind those of other countries. Hint: It's not the teachers' fault. It's not the students, parents, unions, tenure, too much homework, too little homework, or even too much testing. The problem, pure and simple, is grades and fear of grade inflation. The American grading system forces our teachers to "Anti-Teach." This TEDxBeaconStreet talk, excerpted from the author's upcoming book "Gotcha Grading," reveals how eliminating our grading system could bring American education back up to the top. Author and educator Elizabeth Wissner-Gross, most known for her best-selling books on educational opportunities for high school...
Grading is a scam and motivation is a myth. Those sound like bold words, but today we're going to dive down the rabbit hole and prove, once and for all, that our current state of schooling (and of...well..._everything_) is rotten to its core. ...that's all a little dramatic, but that really is the goal of this video. Our schools are broken, our workplaces are broken, and our society is broken...and it's all because of bad psychology and bad economics. 00:00 - Maria's Story 03:22 - Intro 06:13 - Brief History of Grades 08:37 - Why are Grades a Scam? 13:13 - Assumptions About Motivation 16:17 - Why Is Motivation a Myth? 19:44 - Why Rewards Don't Work 25:50 - Fixing Our Schools 33:55 - Advice for Teachers 38:19 - Fixing Our Workplaces 42:52 - Conclusion 46:32 - Outro * Sources: * ---Books ...

Grading A Students Test With Savage Answers #Shorts
We talk through how the 9-1 grades being introduced for GCSEs in England compare to the established A*-G grades.
Having delivered humorous TEDx talks before, Chip decided to do something very different for this talk. Chip decided to talk about something that, frankly, ticks him off - the way teachers grade students in school. He believes our current grading system does more bad than good, so to solve that problem, Chip has a new system to replace it. Chip Porter is a ninth-grade student at Mountain Brook Junior High in Mountain Brook, Alabama where he is a member of the MBJH TED-Ed Club. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

Times have changedWe used to all be friends like one big
family
My best joke was your best joke
And everybody laughed until sixth grade
Don't forget this day
Don't regret this age
Don't care what they say
Overcome sixth grade
Invitations are new to me
I never knew I could have been left out
Its not about the friends we've made
It's about leaving the other kids at home
Our social revolution's 'grown'
