SH 64 was originally designated between 1922 and 1926 to replace SH 15A from Wills Point to Carthage, then continuing on to the Louisiana state line. In 1935, the portion east of Henderson was reassigned to U.S. Highway 79. The remaining portion has not changed since.

Business route
SH 64 has one business route in Henderson, inventoried by TxDOT as Business SH 64-E. The route was designated in 1991, which, along with Bus. US79, replaced segments of Loop 153 and Loop 154. The two business routes are briefly concurrent through downtown Henderson.
Route 64 is one of the original 1922 state highways and originally ran between Preston and Collins. It would eventually be moved further to the south with its older alignment becoming U.S. Route 54. It would also be extended east. It is also only one of two Missouri state highways bearing the same number as an Interstate highway in Missouri.

Route 64A
Route 64A is a 1.5-mile-long (2.4km) spur off Route 64 which ends in Bennett Spring State Park. When Route 64 was on its old alignment, another Route 64A went north to the Benton/Hickory county line and is now part of Route 83.
Route 64B
Route 64B is a 2.2-mile-long (3.5km) spur off Route 64 between Nemo and Pittsburg. It ends at Pomme de Terre Lake.
State Highway 50 is a state highway in northeast Texas from State Highway 24 near Commerce northward to Ladonia. It previously extended northward from Ladonia to Honey Grove, concurrent with State Highway 34, and southward to Interstate 30, concurrent with State Highway 24. The duplications of these highway were removed in 2003 and 2009, respectively.
History
SH 50 was originally proposed by 1926 renumbering a portion of SH 2 between Henrietta and Bowie, when the route of SH 2 was readjusted farther east. This designation was short-lived, as it was replaced by 1939 by U.S. Highway 380.
State Highway 45 is a highway loop around Austin, Texas, that exists in two open segments. The official designation of SH 45 is such to form a complete loop around Austin, a distance of roughly 80 miles (130km).
One segment is in southwest Austin and runs roughly southeast from Ranch to Market Road 1826 to the southern terminus of Loop 1 (Mopac Expressway). The roadway is a divided, four-lane facility with a wide median intended to accommodate a future freeway, after which the current lanes would serve as frontage roads.
The other segment is a toll road that forms a backwards C-shape along the boundary of Travis and Williamson County before bending down along the eastern edge of the Austin metropolitan area where it shares its route with SH-130.
SH 256 was first designated in 1938 from Plainview east through Silverton to Memphis. In 1942 the section from Plainview to Silverton was cancelled from the designation. In 1948 the route assumed its current form as the designation was extended east from Memphis to the junction with US 83. The section added was formerly FM 30.
Route description
The highway's western terminus is the intersection with SH 207 at Silverton in Briscoe County. SH 256 is known as Lone Star Street in Silverton. The highway is co-routed with SH 86 for a short distance as it runs east. The route then runs past Caprock Canyons State Park and turns toward the northeast, where it junctions with SH 70. After a brief co-routing with SH 70, the highway continues east through Lakeview to a junction with US 287 in Memphis. The highway is known as Noel Street in Memphis. The route then runs east to its final junction with US 83 in Childress County. Counties traversed by the highway include Briscoe, Hall and Childress. Most of the terrain covered by the highway is sparsely populated ranch country.
At one time, Iowa64 spanned the length of the state. It began at the Missouri River in Council Bluffs where it connected to N-64 in Omaha. It headed northeast and east on highways that today are roughly parallel to Interstate 80 (I-80) and US30. In 1969, however, Iowa64 was shortened to its current extent.

Iowa64 begins at an interchange with US151 in Anamosa. West of the interchange, the road is County Road E28 (CRE28), which becomes Third Street in Anamosa, while to the east , Iowa64 begins its eastward trek. It leaves Anamosa heading to the south-southeast.
