Tarantulas comprise a group of large and often hairy arachnids belonging to the Theraphosidaefamilyof spiders, of which approximately 900 species have been identified. This article only describes members of Theraphosidae, although some other members of the same suborder are commonly referred to as "tarantulas". Most species of tarantulas are not dangerous to humans, and some species have become popular in the exotic pet trade.
Overview
Like all arthropods, the tarantula is an invertebrate that relies on an exoskeleton for muscular support. Like other Arachnida a tarantula’s body comprises two main parts, the prosoma (or cephalothorax) and the opisthosoma (or abdomen). The prosoma and opisthosoma are connected by the pedicel, or pregenital somite. This waist-like connecting piece is actually part of the prosoma and allows the opisthosoma to move in a wide range of motion relative to the prosoma.
Tarantulas sizes range from as small as a fingernail to as large as a dinner plate when the legs are fully extended. Depending on the species, the body length of tarantulas ranges from 2.5 to 10 centimetres (1 to 4in), with leg spans of 8–30-centimetre (3–12in). Leg span is determined by measuring from the tip of the back leg to the tip of the front leg on the opposite side. Some of the largest species of tarantula may weigh over 85 grams (3oz); the largest of all, the goliath birdeater (Theraphosa blondi) from Venezuela and Brazil, has been reported to attain a weight of 150 grams (5.3oz) and a leg-span of up to 30 centimetres (12in), males being longer and females greater in girth.
Dylan would later cite Tarantula as a book he had never fully signed up to write: "Things were running wild at that point. It never was my intention to write a book." He went on to equate the book to John Lennon's nonsensical work In His Own Write, and implied that his former manager Albert Grossman signed up Dylan to write the novel without the singer's full consent.
Although it was to be edited by Dylan and published in 1966, his motorcycle accident in July '66 prevented this. The first 50 copies were printed on A4 paper by the Albion underground press of San Francisco in mid-1965. The type-written pages were bound in yellow paper with a large red tick-like arachnid pictured on the front. Numerous bootleg versions of the book were available on the black market through 1971, when it was officially published to critical scorn. In 2003 Spin magazine did an article called the "Top Five Unintelligible Sentences from Books Written by Rock Stars." Dylan came in first place with this line from Tarantula: "Now's not the time to get silly, so wear your big boots and jump on the garbage clowns." In the early 21st century, Tarantula was re-released in English and translated into French,Spanish,Portuguese, Croatian and Czech.
"Tarantula" is a song by The Smashing Pumpkins. It is the first single from their seventh album, Zeitgeist, and their first release since their 2006 revival.
Release and structure
Billy Corgan mentioned during a June 5 concert in Berlin that "Tarantula" was titled in honor of the German rock band Scorpions, with whom Corgan had recently collaborated on the Scorpions song "The Cross". Corgan and Chamberlin believe the song is a culmination of music they've been listening to all their lives, specifically the Scorpions and UFO.
A 30-second clip of the song was released on May 14, 2007. The song was played in its entirety on the radio for the first time on May 18, 2007 when KROQ-FM aired the world premiere. WBRU in Providence, Rhode Island aired "Tarantula" twice in 15 minutes the same day. It was leaked onto the Internet soon after. On May 21, 2007 the single was released on iTunes for the United States, followed by the United Kingdom and Canada the May 22. On this date, "Tarantula" was played for the first time live in Paris at the Pumpkins' first show in seven years. The song was also played on the Late Show with David Letterman on July 9, 2007.
Drummer Brad Wilk explained: "Audioslave the band has arrived. The first record was people from two other bands with history attached. I don't feel that with this record."Chris Cornell admitted to writing his most personal songs ever on this album, influenced by the positive changes in his life since 2002. He also described the album as more varied than the debut and relying less on heavy guitar riffs.
On May 6, 2005, Audioslave played a free show in Havana, Cuba. Audioslave became the first American rock group to perform a concert in Cuba, playing in front of an audience of 70,000. The band traveled to Havana on May 4 to interact with Cuban musicians. Cornell commented: "Hopefully, this concert will help to open the musical borders between our two countries." The 26-song set concert was the longest the band had ever played. Many songs from Out of Exile were performed at the concert, held three weeks prior to the release date, making these the first live performances of the tracks from this album. The concert was documented on the Live in Cuba DVD released in October of the same year.
“Dandelion” is a song by the English rock 'n roll band The Rolling Stones, written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, and first released as a B-side to “We Love You” in August 1967. An apparently lighthearted song (with references to the English children's game of using the seedheads of dandelions as clocks) albeit with an undertone of wistfulness, it reached #14 in the United States, and effectively became the A-side there (as the edgier “We Love You” disappointed at #50 on US charts). This is reflected in “Dandelion” appearing on both the US and United Kingdom versions of Through the Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2) in 1969, while “We Love You” appeared only on the UK version.
The first demo version of “Dandelion” was recorded in November 1966; it was originally titled “Sometimes Happy, Sometimes Blue”, had different lyrics, and was sung and played by Keith Richards. On the released version, Mick Jagger sang lead vocals.
Dandelion is a 2004 film directed and co-written by Mark Milgard (son of Milgard Windows founder and philanthropist Gary Milgard) and stars Vincent Kartheiser (as Mason Mullich), Blake Heron (as Eddie), Taryn Manning (as Danny Voss), Arliss Howard (as Luke Mullich), and Mare Winningham (as Layla Mullich). The director of photography was Tim Orr.
Plot
In a small town of rolling fields and endless skies, isolated 16-year-old Mason Mullich lives in a world where families exist in fragmented silence and love seems to have gone missing. Mason lives with his mother, father and mentally ill uncle. Mason's father is a local politician running for office and is stern, and somewhat abusive towards his family, while his mother is submissive and dutiful, albeit unstable.
While resting in the grass one day Mason is approached by Danny, a sensitive and troubled girl. They strike up a tender friendship and begin to spend more time together. This bond is torn apart when Mason's father kills a man whilst driving and Mason is blamed for the crime. He is sent to prison for two years and upon getting out sees that Danny is now in a relationship. While they are both still attracted to each other, threats from Danny's possessive boyfriend and Danny's own perception of what she deserves pose a conflict.
Not only does the Goliath Tarantula have giant fangs, but also dangerous hair that can be used to deter predators.

5 Things I Wish I Knew BEFORE Getting A Pet Tarantula!
At one point or another, we have all been guilty of impulse buying. Unfortunately, sometime the impulse purchase is an animal, more specifically, a tarantula. My first tarantula I picked up without the proper information and relied on a pet store employee to tell me everything I needed to know. And they did not have the best information at the time. So in this video I am telling you the Top 5 Things I Wish I Knew BEFORE Getting A Pet Tarantula. Hopefully this will help you out and you will start out on a better foot than I did!

Note that tarantulas have very sensitive hairs, which gives them the ability to detect even the slightest vibrations. This allows them to sense and ambush their prey effectively.. and is also why they react as in this video when their water dishes are being taken out ~ Tarantulas are pretty much blind and when they sense huge vibrations, they think it’s a potential predator, causing them to react in a defensive way.

Filming takes probably an extra hour or two. I promise I’ll do another one in the near future, if requested. Regardless, I hope you enjoy this one - I think it’s the longest one, yet @ 19 mins :D
