One Day in Szeged, Hungary: Top Things to See and Do (Just Walking) in One Day
The third largest city in Hungary, Szeged, lies south of the country, near the borders of Serbia and Romania. The city has a long history, dating back to medieval times. Since it was destroyed in the flood in 1879, most Szeged attractions you can enjoy today date to the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. The Szeged of today has magnificent buildings, beautiful parks and squares, and is home to one of the best universities in the country. The city centre is a lovely place to walk, with wide pedestrianised streets lined with Neoclassical and Art Nouveau-style buildings. Szeged is also known as the "City of Sunshine" because it has the highest number of sunny days in Hungary. Since Szeged Unive...

🇭🇺 come explore szeged the hidden gem of Hungary
Welcome back everyone! Today we are heading to a fantastic hidden gem in Hungary, Szeged. I guess most Hungarians already know about this terrific city down in the south east of the country, but for outsiders it is certainly not as famous as Budapest, or even Pécs. But Szeged is truly a marvel. In this episode we are given a special tour of the sights and sounds by a local, my good friend Bogi. We were lucky enough to stay at her family weekend house in nearby Sándorfalva, and my oh my what a treat that was. The property belonged to her grandfather, who unfortunately passed away a few years ago, but he was with us in spirit through the beauty of his homemade palinka and wine. The fruit trees and vines are still beaming brightly in the family garden. Our day trip in the city of Szeged was a...

Is Hungary Cheap? Cost of Living In Hungary (Szeged) 🇭🇺
In this episode, we will explore the cost of living in Hungary, specifically in the beautiful city of Szeged. As someone who has experienced living in this city, I will be sharing my perspective on the general cost of living, including rent prices, food prices, and public transport.
When it comes to the cost of rent in Szeged, it is important to note that the prices can vary greatly depending on the location and size of the apartment. However, compared to other major cities in Hungary, Szeged generally offers more affordable options for housing.
As for food prices, Szeged has a wide range of options for grocery shopping, including local markets and supermarkets. The prices of groceries can also vary depending on the type and quality of the products. However, it is generally known that fo...

Szeged / Hungary is the third-largest city of Hungary (after Budapest and Debrecen). The University of Szeged has a good reputation so many students chose to study there. Szeged is known as the "city of sunshine" and lies on Hungary's south-eastern border with Romania. There is lots of paprika there as well.
On our tour we see that Szeged is full of nice avenues and squares. We start our walking tour at the Móra Ferenc Museum with some fountains and a "Szeged" sign. When we get to the city center we see lots of interesting architecture. On this evening people are starting to go out into pubs and restaurants. Some parks are also popular to enjoy this summer evening.
We end our tour at the Votive Church of Szeged with ringing bells.

Welcome back everyone! Today we are heading to a fantastic hidden gem in Hungary, Szeged. I guess most Hungarians already know about this terrific city down in the south east of the country, but for outsiders it is certainly not as famous as Budapest, or even Pécs. The property belonged to her grandfather, who unfortunately passed away a few years ago, but he was with us in spirit through the beauty of his homemade palinka and wine. The fruit trees and vines are still beaming brightly in the family garden. Our day trip in the city of Szeged was a delight, as Bogi took us around to some of the most famous sights in the city, including the Szent István tér Water Tower, the belvarosi Hid, Szechenyi tér, down by the river side, the witches Island, the first burger King in Szeged history, and more statues than one city has a right too. I really loved Szeged. I think it is a city that Hungary should be really proud of. The history, the architecture, the culture and attitude of the people is a joyous celebration of Hungary and Europe as a whole, moreover. And the Harcsa that we had at Kiskorossy Halaszcsarda is probably the best in the entire country. No exaggeration. I would go back to Szeged just for that. Let me tell you.....

However, it is generally known that food prices in Hungary are relatively affordable compared to other European countries.
Finally, when it comes to public transport, Szeged has a reliable and affordable system that connects all parts of the city. The public transport system includes buses, trams, and trolleybuses, with frequent and timely schedules. The fares are also affordable and provide great value for money.
Overall, Szeged is a great place to live in Hungary, with a relatively low cost of living compared to other major cities. The city offers affordable housing, quality food options, and reliable public transport, making it an attractive location for both locals and expats alike.
