Sid (Sidney) James is seen in a boat on the boating lake with beauty queen Margaret Bristow. Actor Harry Fowler stands on the side of the lake with his trousers down, shouting about something (apparently trying to enter beauty contest).
Slip pan to shot of American actress Dorothy Provine, star of the television show 'The Roaring Twenties' arriving at London airport. She walks down the steps from the plane and poses for photographers on the tarmac. Very pretty and pert! She then hails a 1920s vintage taxi, climbs in the back and is driven off, waving from the open back to the camera.

Miss Owens, an avid reader of detective stories, finds herself travelling in the same railway compartment as crime writer Larry Gordon – neither of them realising that amongst their fellow passengers is a prisoner under escort to trial for murder. When a rescue attempt claims a policeman's life and the passengers become snowbound at a remote railway station, it's a race against time to unmask the culprit before the murderer strikes again!
