A big-box store (also supercenter, superstore, or megastore) is a physically large retail establishment, usually part of a chain. The term sometimes also refers, by extension, to the company that operates the store. The store may sell general dry goods in which case it is a department store, or may be limited to a particular specialty (such establishments are often called "category killers") or may also sell groceries, in which case some countries (mostly in Europe) use the term hypermarket.
Characteristics
Typical architectural characteristics include the following:
Large, free-standing, rectangular, generally single-floor structure built on a concrete slab. The flat roof and ceiling trusses are generally made of steel, and the walls are concrete block clad in metal or masonry siding.
The structure typically sits in the middle of a large, paved parking lot, sometimes referred to as a "sea of asphalt." It is meant to be accessed by vehicle, rather than by pedestrians.
Floor space several times greater than traditional retailers in the sector, providing for a large amount of merchandise; in North America, generally more than 50,000 square feet (4650 m²), sometimes approaching 200,000 square feet (18,600 m²), though varying by sector and market. In countries where space is at a premium, such as the United Kingdom, the relevant numbers are smaller and stores are more likely to have two or more floors.

Professional vs. Big Box Store Wood Splitters | Is it THAT different?
I've often wondered whether there is actually much of a difference between the big box store wood splitters and the commercial grade professional series wood splitters. I finally am able to put these two types of wood splitters side by side to find out for certain whether one is significantly different than the other. With some good little piles of hardwood equally stacked beside each machine, I'm going to figure out the time it takes to make each pile into firewood to give myself an idea of what is most efficient. On top of this, I"ll be trying to "feel" whether there's any difference aside from just numbers as let's face it, if it feels good, do it. With all that being said, let's not get ahead of ourselves, I"ve still got to get this old big box store splitter fired up if I'm going to d...

For centuries, cities followed a common pattern of development, that can be seen in the design of cities all around the world. In the mid 20th century, America threw out all that, and started down a drastically different path - the Suburban Experiment.

I've often wondered whether there is actually much of a difference between the big box store wood splitters and the commercial grade professional series wood splitters. I finally am able to put these two types of wood splitters side by side to find out for certain whether one is significantly different than the other. On top of this, I"ll be trying to "feel" whether there's any difference aside from just numbers as let's face it, if it feels good, do it. With all that being said, let's not get ahead of ourselves, I"ve still got to get this old big box store splitter fired up if I'm going to do anything here today. If you've been around the channel before you know for certain that this is half the battle haha. Here we go!

You've read about me in the papers You've seen me on the movie screen You know everything about me I'm your late night fantasy But don't think I can't hear you calling From the shadow of the 14th row Cause I've had the same dreams you've had A few short years ago and that's why I know You and I We will climb so high Superstars Whoa whoa You and I And we'll just close our eyes And become our fantasy Superstars yes, yes, superstars Step right this way. Everyone's welcome, We want your dreams. The offer's simple, momentary immortality Cause I've seen them all you know I've seen them climb and I've seen them fall I've seen them come and I've seen them go And through it all there's only one thing that matters Love - And that's simply You and I Yes, You and I For we are superstars
