The Summer of Love was a social phenomenon that occurred during the summer of 1967, when as many as 100,000 people converged in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco. Although hippies also gathered in major cities across the U.S., Canada and Europe, San Francisco remained the center of the hippie movement. Like its sister enclave of Greenwich Village, the city became even more of a melting pot of politics, music, drugs, creativity, and the total lack of sexual and social inhibition than it already was. As the hippie counterculture movement came further forward into public awareness, the activities centered therein became a defining moment of the 1960s, causing numerous 'ordinary citizens' to begin questioning everything and anything about them and their environment as a result.
This unprecedented gathering of young people is often considered to have been a social experiment, because of all the alternative lifestyles which became more common and accepted such as gender equality, communal living, and free love. Many of these types of social changes reverberated on into the early 1970s, and effects echo throughout modern society.
"Summer of Love" is a dance-pop song performed by Dannii Minogue. The Extended Mix of the song was released worldwide on March 7, 2015 and features a rap section by British rapper Reece.
Background
In February 2015, Dannii Minogue announced that, after a long hiatus, she planned to make her musical comeback on Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Minogue also revealed she had been working on new music.
Following the announcement, Minogue, Reece and the official Sydney Mardi Gras profiles launched a mysterious online campaign on social media featuring the #pressplay hashtag. Finally, at the end of February, Sydney Mardi Gras shared a YouTube link to a video called #pressplay, featuring the Extended Mix of "Summer of Love".
On March 2, the Extended Mix of "Summer of Love" was made available as a pre-order single on iTunes.

It's the hottest summer the Braxiatel Collection has ever seen, and as neighbouring aliens try to take advantage of the weakened state of affairs, the inhabitants find themselves with only one thing on their mind - sex.
This audio play marks the first appearance of characters Hass and Doggles outside the novel series. They are credited under the names Sam Stevens and Paul Wolfe; in fact pseudonyms for actors Steven Wickham and Harry Myers respectively.
Death in June are a neofolk group led by Englishfolk musician Douglas Pearce, better known as Douglas P. The band was originally formed in Britain in 1981 as a trio, but after the other members left in 1984 and 1985 to work on other projects, the group became the work of Douglas P. and various collaborators. Douglas P. now lives in Australia.
Over the band's three decades of existence, they have made numerous shifts in style and presentation, resulting in an overall shift from initial post-punk and Industrial Records influence to a more acoustic and folk music-oriented approach. They are sometimes considered controversial (largely due to usage of themes and imagery relating to Nazi Germany). Douglas P.'s influence was instrumental in sparking neofolk, of which his music has subsequently become a part.

Death In June - The Politics Of Douglas P
I’ve long been a fan of Death In June but I’ll be the first to admit I’ve been a casual listener, dipping in and out of Douglas’ mystical world as and when I please. I finally decided to do a deep dive into the controversy around Death In June and analyze the group’s imagery, symbolism and lyrical content. The aim of the video is to try and fully understand if there is any weight to the accusations that get thrown at Douglas P a lot.
I am not here to condemn Douglas P and nor am I - and this is important because people fly off without reading or watching things properly - nor am I defending Douglas P and the choices he has made with Death In June over the decades. This has been a learning experience for me, and if anything, it has greatly deepened my understanding of this fascinating art...

* CORRECTIONS *
I did not know at the time of recording that several songs - including “Because Of Him” - were adapted from songs by the People’s Temple Choir, which means my analysis of the lyrical content is 100% incorrect. Even though I talk about "He's Disabled" at the start, this discovery should only effect the small section on "Because Of Him".
When talking about “Symbols Of The Sun” I refer to a line in the song that goes: “symbols of the winter”. This, of course, doesn’t exist. The correct line is: “symbols of the snow”. The worst bit is, during the completed edit, Douglas sings the correct line just before I say the incorrect one. D’oh!

Leopard Flowers
Lay only leopard flowers upon my path
Lined by the drummers and scent of Aragon
Faith is difficult and nurture is all?
Signed on the path from Aragon
Like an ideal falling, tumbling to earth
Its wings broken so like wisdom
Grey steel holes
Open behind me
Dark pink scars
Run along beside me
Endless pointless
Gaping chasm
Ill-chosen, disappointing
With little meaning
Snow-white ferocity
Your image did deceive me
Like an ideal falling, tumbling to earth
Its wings broken so like wisdom
Grey steel holes
Open behind me
Dark pink scars
Run along beside me
Lay only leopard flowers upon my path
Lined by the drummers and spears of Aragon
Faith is difficult and nurture is all?
Signed on my path from arrogance
Lay only leopard flowers upon my path
Lined by the drummers and scent of Aragon
Faith is difficult and murder them all
Signed on the path from Aragon

Luther's Army
Like Luther's army
And Abel's brother
I woke to find
Only to smother
An angel fat at
Satan's feast
Where falsehood, childhood
And loneliness ceased
Delicate like grief
I am rapist, well-healed
Double the echo of silence
Like a dusty dead rose
Contaminate with neglect
Every little heart
Should end up broken
And shrouded by fog
Like Luther's army
And Abel's brother
I woke to find
Only to smother
An angel fat
At Satan's feast
Where falsehood, childhood
And loneliness ceased
Asleep in
The stumble of autumn
The pain was Calvary
Our living on
Empty!
The dead of it -
The dread of it!
Like Luther's army
And Abel's brother
I woke to find
Only to smother
An angel fat at
Satan's feast
Where falsehood, childhood
And loneliness ceased

God’s Golden Sperm
Paranoia is an icy start
But a start, nonetheless
A convenient memory
Is a gift from God
A gift from life
And sodomy
The domination of lies
Break and brand all
Secret dreams
Divine god like - gold like -
Sperm like
We gather, we sow
We scheme
And phrase for us
Near certainty
The siren voids
All fool's destiny
The death will seal
Their prince liberty
Courting sudden endless
Earthless, vacancy
The domination of lies
Break and brand all
Secret dreams
Divine god like - gold like -
Sperm like
We gather, we sow
We scheme
Paranoia is an icy start
But a start, nonetheless
A convenient memory
Is a gift from God
Bereft of life
And sodomy
The siren voids
Old fool's destiny
The death will seal
Their crown prince liberty

Accidental Protégé
When You Prey in Silence
And See Our Jesus Stagger
Awake! and Take a Perfumed Candle
And Use Life Like a Dagger
I'm Your Accidental Protégé
The Gift, The Blood
The Thrownaway
The Silver Chain Has Broken
Goals and Dreams Fulfill
With Emptiness and Instinct
With Impurity and Will
I'm Your Accidental Protégé
The Grave of Love
The Yesterday
In This My Year of 3 Winters
Where Orchards Fade, Fade and Fall
Like a Loaf of Love's
New Bake
Fallen, Beautiful, Adored
I'm Your Accidental Protégé
The Gift, The Blood
The Thrownaway
I Thought I Found Paradise
But, Paradise Came and Wept
Like The Wind Through The Winter's Woods
It Cowed and Took A Breath
I'm Your Accidental Protégé
The Gift, The Blood
The Yesterday

Omen-filled Season
To black framed witness
From black framed guilt
A misery of springtime
And a weekend of absolute
I remember
The wilds around me
Whispered "brutality"
The strangest apology of
All
The dragon-faced accolade
Of vigor and hope
With shame and delight
I accept it!
This omen-filled season
Not sudden or rushed
No fear of volunteer
I reject it!
I remember
The wilds around me
Whispered "brutality"
The strangest apology of
All
Evening then
And evening now
The smell of seasoned
Summer brings
Memories of illusions passed
And autumn of funerals
Enough to last

This has been a learning experience for me, and if anything, it has greatly deepened my understanding of this fascinating artist.
I encourage any and all civilized dialogue on the subject, regardless of where you stand.

(A note on the above: I have placed this first as it is *the* definitive Death In June live footage, and I recommend anyone who is even a passing fan of Douglas’ music to check out the Thorium Heavy Industries channel if not done so already. Not only is the footage superbly shot and in HD, the audio is from sound desk recordings. There are many other live neofolk artists uploaded on this channel too)

* CORRECTIONS *
I did not know at the time of recording that several songs - including “Because Of Him” - were adapted from songs by the People’s Temple Choir, which means my analysis of the lyrical content is 100% incorrect. Even though I talk about "He's Disabled" at the start, this discovery should only effect the small section on "Because Of Him".
When talking about “Symbols Of The Sun” I refer to a line in the song that goes: “symbols of the winter”. This, of course, doesn’t exist. The correct line is: “symbols of the snow”. The worst bit is, during the completed edit, Douglas sings the correct line just before I say the incorrect one. D’oh!

Leopard Flowers
Lay only leopard flowers upon my path
Lined by the drummers and scent of Aragon
Faith is difficult and nurture is all?
Signed on the path from Aragon
Like an ideal falling, tumbling to earth
Its wings broken so like wisdom
Grey steel holes
Open behind me
Dark pink scars
Run along beside me
Endless pointless
Gaping chasm
Ill-chosen, disappointing
With little meaning
Snow-white ferocity
Your image did deceive me
Like an ideal falling, tumbling to earth
Its wings broken so like wisdom
Grey steel holes
Open behind me
Dark pink scars
Run along beside me
Lay only leopard flowers upon my path
Lined by the drummers and spears of Aragon
Faith is difficult and nurture is all?
Signed on my path from arrogance
Lay only leopard flowers upon my path
Lined by the drummers and scent of Aragon
Faith is difficult and murder them all
Signed on the path from Aragon

Luther's Army
Like Luther's army
And Abel's brother
I woke to find
Only to smother
An angel fat at
Satan's feast
Where falsehood, childhood
And loneliness ceased
Delicate like grief
I am rapist, well-healed
Double the echo of silence
Like a dusty dead rose
Contaminate with neglect
Every little heart
Should end up broken
And shrouded by fog
Like Luther's army
And Abel's brother
I woke to find
Only to smother
An angel fat
At Satan's feast
Where falsehood, childhood
And loneliness ceased
Asleep in
The stumble of autumn
The pain was Calvary
Our living on
Empty!
The dead of it -
The dread of it!
Like Luther's army
And Abel's brother
I woke to find
Only to smother
An angel fat at
Satan's feast
Where falsehood, childhood
And loneliness ceased

God’s Golden Sperm
Paranoia is an icy start
But a start, nonetheless
A convenient memory
Is a gift from God
A gift from life
And sodomy
The domination of lies
Break and brand all
Secret dreams
Divine god like - gold like -
Sperm like
We gather, we sow
We scheme
And phrase for us
Near certainty
The siren voids
All fool's destiny
The death will seal
Their prince liberty
Courting sudden endless
Earthless, vacancy
The domination of lies
Break and brand all
Secret dreams
Divine god like - gold like -
Sperm like
We gather, we sow
We scheme
Paranoia is an icy start
But a start, nonetheless
A convenient memory
Is a gift from God
Bereft of life
And sodomy
The siren voids
Old fool's destiny
The death will seal
Their crown prince liberty

Accidental Protégé
When You Prey in Silence
And See Our Jesus Stagger
Awake! and Take a Perfumed Candle
And Use Life Like a Dagger
I'm Your Accidental Protégé
The Gift, The Blood
The Thrownaway
The Silver Chain Has Broken
Goals and Dreams Fulfill
With Emptiness and Instinct
With Impurity and Will
I'm Your Accidental Protégé
The Grave of Love
The Yesterday
In This My Year of 3 Winters
Where Orchards Fade, Fade and Fall
Like a Loaf of Love's
New Bake
Fallen, Beautiful, Adored
I'm Your Accidental Protégé
The Gift, The Blood
The Thrownaway
I Thought I Found Paradise
But, Paradise Came and Wept
Like The Wind Through The Winter's Woods
It Cowed and Took A Breath
I'm Your Accidental Protégé
The Gift, The Blood
The Yesterday

Omen-filled Season
To black framed witness
From black framed guilt
A misery of springtime
And a weekend of absolute
I remember
The wilds around me
Whispered "brutality"
The strangest apology of
All
The dragon-faced accolade
Of vigor and hope
With shame and delight
I accept it!
This omen-filled season
Not sudden or rushed
No fear of volunteer
I reject it!
I remember
The wilds around me
Whispered "brutality"
The strangest apology of
All
Evening then
And evening now
The smell of seasoned
Summer brings
Memories of illusions passed
And autumn of funerals
Enough to last

Heavy Sincere Intense So wrong Heavy Sincere True but blue Joyful but painful I can't get the way you love me I can't get that way of loving I can't swallow the way you love me I can't digest your way of loving I made you so sad and disappointed And you made me so sorry about that If all I give is not enough Is not what you seek If you expect much more Just forget it all
