Summer Hill is a neighborhood on Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's North Side. It has a zip code of 15214, and has representation on Pittsburgh City Council by the council member for District 1 (North Neighborhoods).
Once part of Reserve Township, the Summer Hill area was annexed to Pittsburgh's North Side on October 31, 1922. It was a sparsely populated site until the late 1960s, when Pittsburgh's Urban Redevelopment Authority proposed, and City Council approved, construction of a 51-acre development called "Harpen Hilltop," which consisted of 373 private homes and a 272-unit high-rise for elderly residents of the East Street Valley whose homes were being torn down to permit construction of I-279.
Maps in the City of Pittsburgh Department of Urban Planning's 1974 "Neighborhood Profiles" series refer to the area as "Harpen Hilltop." However, just three years later, a similar Neighborhood Atlas series called the area Summer Hill and referred to an adjacent Ivory Avenue district.
Summer Hill is a historic home at Davidsonville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is a 21⁄2-story frame dwelling, five bays wide and two deep. It represents a typical Maryland farmhouse of the mid 19th century. The exterior is in transition between mid-19th-century style, broadly derived from Greek Revival architecture, and an earlier style derived from Federal-Georgian sources.
The University of Pittsburgh (commonly referred to as Pitt) is a state-related research university located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1787 after the American Revolutionary War, it was founded on the edge of the American frontier as the Pittsburgh Academy. It developed and was renamed as Western University of Pennsylvania by a change to its charter in 1819. After surviving two devastating fires and various relocations within the area, the school moved to its current location in the Oakland neighborhood of the city; it was renamed as the University of Pittsburgh in 1908. For most of its history, Pitt was a private institution, until 1966 when it became part of the Commonwealth System of Higher Education.
The American darkcomedy-drama series Weeds was created by Jenji Kohan and aired on premium cable channel Showtime. Mary-Louise Parker stars as Nancy Botwin, a suburban widow who begins selling marijuana to support her family. Elizabeth Perkins also starred as Nancy's neighbor, Celia Hodes, a manic PTA mother, but Perkins departed the series at the end of the fifth season. The show follows a serialized format and details Nancy's progressively deeper involvement in illegal activity as she takes care of her family.
The ten-episode first season premiered on August 5, 2005 and concluded on October 10, 2005. Season two, which comprises 12 episodes, began airing on August 14, 2006 and finished its run on October 30, 2006. The series' third season received an order of 15 episodes, premiered on August 13, 2007 and ran until November 20, 2007. The 13-episode fourth season premiered early the following summer on June 16, 2008 and concluded on September 15, 2008. Seasons one, two and three have been released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc formats in Regions 1, 2 and 4. At the 2008 Television Critics Association, it was announced that Weeds had been picked up for fifth and sixth seasons of 13 episodes each. An eighth and final season premiered in July 1, 2012 and concluded September 16, 2012.

Summerhill Signals - Goodbye
On Monday June 10th, 2019, the famous PRR Signals of the West Slope between MO in Cresson and SO in Southfork were removed. Standing guard from 4am-10am on this day, I witnessed the Summerhill signals at MP 263 go dark for the last time, be lowered to the ground, and bear the cutting torch. While it is difficult to see these pieces of history go to the scrap pile, they certainly lived long lives. The West Slope signals guided the movement of trains since before WWII and well into the 21st century under the care of four railroads. Watch as the Summerhill Signals fall to the tune of Night Ranger's "Goodbye". I do not own this song and do not profit from this video.

Rain causes flooding in Summerhill
By: Jackalyn Kovac
SUMMERHILL, Pa. -- The rain from Tuesday night became a nightmare for several homeowners in Summerhill after the water rushed down the stream, taking ice and debris with it.
Water rushed from a Summerhill Borough creek Wednesday morning, but overnight, ice jams created a dam against a bridge, creating a mess on the roads and in several homes.
"We came outside and saw what was going on and found that our basement was filed to the second from the top step," said William Barnett.
"The three homes especially, their basements were completely filled with water and the first one here has really got a bad problem 'cause he's got 3-feet of snow and ice in there that washed in," said Summerhill Borough Fire Chief Bob Burkett.

Barnett let 6 News into the basement of his home after several feet of water washed through the bottom floor after breaking the window.
Snow, ice and water mixed with their belongings, leaving a large mess down below.
Crews worked for several hours to clear the jam, shutting down a portion of Route 53 between Wilmore and Portage.
Burkett said years of neglect have allowed the stream to become a hazard.
"Unfortunately, over the years debris has come down this stream and it is really compromised the distance between the bottom of the bridge beams and the bottom of the creek," said Burkett.
Crews are continuing to help the homeowners clean up what they can.
