Suede (band)
Suede are an English alternative rock band, formed in London in 1989 and currently consists of singer Brett Anderson, guitarist Richard Oakes, bass player Mat Osman, drummer Simon Gilbert and keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Neil Codling. Having split up in 2003, the Coming Up/Head Music line-up of the band reformed in 2010. The band's original guitarist Bernard Butler left the band in 1994.
In 1992, Suede were described as "The Best New Band in Britain", and attracted much attention from the British music press. The following year their debut album Suede, went to the top of the charts by becoming the fastest-selling debut album in almost ten years. It won the Mercury Music Prize and helped foster Britpop as a musical genre. However, the band's follow-up, Dog Man Star (1994), showed Suede distancing themselves from their Britpop peers. The recording sessions for Dog Man Star were fraught with difficulty, and ended with Butler departing the band after confrontations with the rest of the band. The album was completed without Butler, with the band touring the album with new recruit Richard Oakes. Although a commercial disappointment at the time, the album was met with a generally enthusiastic reception on release and has, over time been lauded with universal acclaim from critics.

At the request of the Teenage Cancer Trust, after a seven year hiatus Suede reformed to play what they believed would be a one-off concert at the Royal Albert Hall on 24th March 2010. As a result of the extraordinary reaction from the audience, the band decided to reform permanently.

The clip stars British actress Keeley Hawes. It was shot in the London Underground at a disused Piccadilly line platform at Aldwych station.
Aldwych station is notable as the only platform in London's underground network where filming is allowed.

Suede had received widespread media coverage in the year leading up to the release of the debut album in March 1993. "Animal Nitrate", released one month before the album was the third in a triptych of singles following on from the successful first two singles, "The Drowners" and "Metal Mickey". The title of the song is a reference to the inhalant drug amyl nitrite, although singer Brett Anderson has said it has more to do with other drugs like ecstasy and cocaine. The idea of the song came about when Anderson went through a period where, he says: "drugs were taking the place of people."
"Animal Nitrate" is the third single by Suede, released on Nude Records in 1993 and later included on the band's debut album Suede. It charted at number seven on the UK Singles Chart, making it the highest-charting single from the album.

So Young is the fourth and final single from the debut album by Suede, released on 17 May 1993 on Nude Records. It charted at number 22 on the UK Singles Chart. The track was a last minute addition to the album. It was written just three months ahead of its release, in contrast to the bulk of the album, which had been demoed almost a year previously.
The video for the single was directed by David Lewis and Andy Crabb, who later went on to direct a series of backdrop films for Suede as well as the live tour film Introducing The Band and features children from the Kent coastal town of Whitstable.

The single continued the success of Suede's previous two hits by entering the top 10 on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number six.
The video for the song was directed by Pedro Romhanyi, who previously made videos for the band's songs, "Animal Nitrate", and "Beautiful Ones".
The clip stars British actress Keeley Hawes. It was shot in the London Underground at a disused Piccadilly line platform at Aldwych station.
Aldwych station is notable as the only platform in London's underground network where filming is allowed.

Suede (band)
Suede are an English alternative rock band, formed in London in 1989 and currently consists of singer Brett Anderson, guitarist Richard Oakes, bass player Mat Osman, drummer Simon Gilbert and keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Neil Codling. Having split up in 2003, the Coming Up/Head Music line-up of the band reformed in 2010. The band's original guitarist Bernard Butler left the band in 1994.
In 1992, Suede were described as "The Best New Band in Britain", and attracted much attention from the British music press. The following year their debut album Suede, went to the top of the charts by becoming the fastest-selling debut album in almost ten years. It won the Mercury Music Prize and helped foster Britpop as a musical genre. However, the band's follow-up, Dog Man Star (1994), showed Suede distancing themselves from their Britpop peers. The recording sessions for Dog Man Star were fraught with difficulty, and ended with Butler departing the band after confrontations with the rest of the band. The album was completed without Butler, with the band touring the album with new recruit Richard Oakes. Although a commercial disappointment at the time, the album was met with a generally enthusiastic reception on release and has, over time been lauded with universal acclaim from critics.
