Public Behaviour - Social Story
When we're in public, it's important to be respectful to others and follow some simple rules.
First, it's important to use a quiet voice so we don't disturb others around us. We can also try to keep our movements slow and steady so we don't bump into anyone.
Second, we should always wait our turn in line. Whether we're waiting for food or waiting to play on a playground, it's important to be patient and let others go first.
Third, it's important to be mindful of our belongings and not take up too much space. For example, when we're sitting on a bench, we should try to sit close to each other and not spread out too much.
Finally, we should always be respectful of other people's belongings and personal space. This means not touching someone else's things without asking, and not getting too c...

This means not touching someone else's things without asking, and not getting too close to others without their permission.
By following these simple rules, we can help create a positive and respectful environment for everyone in public. Let's show good public behaviour!
Social stories are a tool used to teach social and life skills to Autistic people or those with other developmental disabilities. They are short, simple, and descriptive stories that provide information about specific social situations, such as how to make a friend, how to behave in a restaurant, or how to handle disappointment.
The stories are written from the perspective of the person with the disability and typically include specific details about what to expect, what the appropriate behaviours are, and why they are important. The goal of social stories is to help individuals understand the social norms and expectations in different situations, and to provide a framework for appropriate behaviour. They are often used in combination with other interventions, such as visual supports and reinforcement, to reinforce the desired behaviours.
