Skin & Bone is a 1996 American drama film. It is the story of three Los Angeles-area hustlers, or male prostitutes, and their female pimp. The three men are at different stages of their hustling careers: Dean is just beginning; Billy is somewhat more experienced but still naive; and Harry actively wants to get out, and is looking to break into film acting. Ghislane, the pimp, sends each of the three young men into increasingly dangerous scenarios with clients, until both Billy and Harry are killed. The film stars B. Wyatt as Harry, Alan Boyce as Dean, Garret Scullin as Billy and Nicole Dillenberg as Ghislaine.
Director Everett Lewis financed the film almost entirely, using money earned working on other films. Skin & Bone was originally intended to be entirely improvised, but after a year of filming Lewis decided to script some of it to add shape to the story. The film alternates between black and white and color, marking shifts between depictions of a character's fantasy and reality.

My Favorite Vin Diesel Scene (BADASS)
one of my favorite vid diesel scenes from the Knockaround Guys
I use caustic potassium lye, also known as caustic potash to dissolve chicken flesh. First I don the appropriate protective gear to deal with such a caustic solution. Then I pour out about 200 g of potassium hydroxide and add it to about 1.5 cups of water As I am adding the KOH the water instantly begins to boil as the KOH dissolving in water is highly exothermic. After I put in all of the KOH I measure the temperature of the water to be very near boiling, about 205°F.
I then add the chicken wing into the caustic solution. I explain that the hydroxide ions will essentially turn the chicken into soap. This works by breaking down the fat molecules in the cell walls and turning them into glycerol and soap molecules. Watch the fat and meat slowly turn to gel as the potassium hydroxide reacts...

I'm 23 & Turning To Stone: Living Differently
Carli has a disease that is ‘turning her into stone.’ The incredibly rare condition known as Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) has caused Carli’s muscles, tendons and ligaments to turn to bone, fusing her into a ‘frozen’ position. Carli’s hip has locked, forcing her to stand on one leg.
This intimate film shows how Carli battles with intense pain on a daily basis and has already lost significant mobility throughout her body. We see how she struggles to eat, because her jaw now only opens 2mm. There is currently no cure for FOP, but Carli is participating in a clinical trial to help treat the condition. But despite slowly turning into a human statue, Carli is refusing to let the condition stop her from moving in with her boyfriend and living life to the full whilst she can.

Eventually the entire chicken wing dissolves into a gelatinous mass. In the end I show the final product that used to be meat is a transparent soft gel.
I do make a mistake some have pointed out by saying the cells of the chicken flesh have cell walls. Really I just mean the lipid bilayer (cell membrane). Not a true cell wall like in plant cells.

KOH is also used for semiconductor chip fabrication. Potassium hydroxide is often the main active ingredient in chemical "cuticle removers" used in manicure treatments.
Because aggressive bases like KOH damage the cuticle of the hair shaft, potassium hydroxide is used to chemically assist the removal of hair from animal hides. The hides are soaked for several hours in a solution of KOH and water to prepare them for the unhairing stage of the tanning process. This same effect is also used to weaken human hair in preparation for shaving.

Carli has a disease that is ‘turning her into stone.’ The incredibly rare condition known as Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) has caused Carli’s muscles, tendons and ligaments to turn to bone, fusing her into a ‘frozen’ position. Carli’s hip has locked, forcing her to stand on one leg.
This intimate film shows how Carli battles with intense pain on a daily basis and has already lost significant mobility throughout her body. We see how she struggles to eat, because her jaw now only opens 2mm. There is currently no cure for FOP, but Carli is participating in a clinical trial to help treat the condition. But despite slowly turning into a human statue, Carli is refusing to let the condition stop her from moving in with her boyfriend and living life to the full whilst she can.
