Silvio Berlusconi (Italian pronunciation:[ˈsilvjo berluˈskoːni]; born 29 September 1936) is an Italianmedia tycoon and politician who served as Prime Minister of Italy in four governments.
Berlusconi is the controlling shareholder of Mediaset and has owned the Italian football club A.C. Milan since 1986. He is nicknamed Il Cavaliere (The Knight) for his Order of Merit for Labour, although he voluntarily resigned from this order in March 2013. In 2015, Forbes magazine ranked him as the 141st richest man in the world with a net worth of US$8.0 billion. In 2009, Forbes ranked him 12th in the List of The World's Most Powerful People due to his domination in Italian politics.
"The link between my experience as an entrepreneur and that of a politician is all in one word: freedom."
"We are not a civilized country if we can read in a newspaper what a lady tells her boyfriend or husband,"
"Italy will always be grateful to the United States for what this country has been doing to free us from totalitarianism in the past century,"
"I'm not a traditional politician, and I have a sense of humor. I'll try to soften it and become boring, maybe even very boring, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to."
"Only I can turn this country around."
"The political tradition of ancient thought, filtered in Italy by Machiavelli, says one thing clearly: every prince needs allies, and the bigger the responsibility, the more allies he needs."
"We are grateful to him for the tireless and difficult work he carried out unstintingly against all forms of totalitarianism, violence, oppression and moral degradation, all in the name of the values of the Catholic Church, which are the supreme values of human dignity and solidarity."
"Defender and promoter of freedom and democracy"
"Not even the economy is doing so badly,"
"farce compared to U.S. primaries."
"I was never convinced that war was the best system to bring democracy to the country."
