What is Shao yang? Chronic Shaoyang and do I have it? - Chinese medicine explained
Shao yang means "little yang" in Chinese medicine. It describes a level of disharmony where the body dosen't have enough yang (or as much as it did have) to get rid of cold and flu's, leading to lingering health problems like sinusitus, hayfever, cold and flu like symptoms that never really manifest as a full-on condition but can be annoying, some people get cyclical headaches and other symptosm.
In this episode, Classical herbalist & TCM Acupuncturist Marie Hopkinson explains what Chinese medicine means by "Shaoyang" and how practitioners go about treating it - what kind of herbs are used and how this pattern might explain what's going on when lingering health problems seem really stubborn or don't go away.
