The episode starts with a flashback to 1995 of two young boys in a barber shop.
The next flash back takes place in 2001 where a set of teenagers, two boys and a girl, can be seen playing on a park swing set. It is also revealed that the barbershop from the first flashback is for sale.
The next scene takes place in present day (2007). The two boys from the barber shop (and another friend) and the three teenagers from the park cross paths one night at the park. An altercation ensues which results in the young lady being shot point blank in the torso. Her twin brother and friend are gunned down execution style.
Major Case sends Detectives Logan and Falacci to try to make sense of what happened at the park. Through their investigation they discover that the three young people who were shot were college freshmen who were attending college on academic scholarships. The crime appears to be completely random.
Episodes depict Detectives Robert Goren (D'Onofrio) and Alexandra Eames (Erbe) as the squad's lead investigators. Captain James Deakins (Sheridan) is the detectives' direct supervisor and head of the Major Case Squad. Assistant District Attorney Ron Carver (Vance) often attempts to obtain confessions from the suspects, rather than taking them to trial. Law & Order: Criminal Intent focusses on the actions and motives of the criminals, and divides screen time equally between the suspects and victims, and the police's investigation. The season was filmed on location in New York City, although scenes set inside the Major Case Squad department were filmed in a studio at Chelsea Piers, Manhattan.
Law & Order is an American police procedural and legal drama television series, created by Dick Wolf and part of the Law & Order franchise. It originally aired on NBC and, in syndication, on various cable networks. Law & Order premiered on September 13, 1990, and completed its 20th and final season on May 24, 2010. At the time of its cancellation, Law & Order was the longest-running crime drama on American primetime television. Its record of 20 seasons is a tie with Gunsmoke (1955–1975) for the longest-running live-action scripted American prime-time series with ongoing characters, although it had fewer episodes than Gunsmoke, but since that series was a half-hour in its first six seasons, Law & Order is the longest-running full-hour series in primetime television.
Set and filmed in New York City, the series follows a two-part approach: the first half-hour is the investigation of a crime (usually murder) and apprehension of a suspect by New York City Police Department homicide detectives; the second half is the prosecution of the defendant by the New York County Manhattan District Attorney's Office. Plots are often based on real cases that recently made headlines, although the motivation for the crime and the perpetrator may be different.
The following is a list of Law & Order episodes from the series' thirteenth season (2002–2003):
Cast
Arthur Branch (played by Fred Dalton Thompson) replaced season 12's Nora Lewin (Dianne Wiest) in the role of District Attorney. The resulting ensemble cast was the most stable in the history of the Law & Order series up to that time, being unchanged for 2 seasons over 48 episodes. The longest period of cast stability overall encompassed the last four episodes of Season 18 and the entirety of Seasons 19 and 20, a total of 49 episodes.
The series is a meditation on the clichés of the crime genre while remaining realistic and believable.
Publication history
The series began in October 2006, and ran for 10 issues.
Criminal was relaunched in February 2008 with a new #1, and an expanded format. After 7 issues, it went on hiatus and was relaunched again in October 2009 as volume three, subtitled The Sinners. However, as stated on the podcast Word Balloon, Brubaker does not consider the renumbering to be a relaunch but instead to represent each arc as being its own story. Following Incognito, each arc of Criminal will be renumbered and arcs will be broken up by other projects co-created by Brubaker and Phillips. The fourth volume, Last of the Innocents began in May 2011 and ran for four issues.
In 2015, a Criminal: Savage one-shot, available in a standard comic size and special edition magazine size, was released through Image Comics. A new one shot has been announced for sometime in 2016.

Law & Order CI - Captain Ross' death
Law & Order CI S09E01. The most emotional and heartbreaking part of the episode. He was an awesome captain who always just asked one thing from his detectives, to "keep him in the loop." Danny, you will sorely be missed.
