Bluetti AC500 B300S 7 Month Review used in the Off Grid Workshop
I have been using the Bluetti AC500 and B300S Combination now for over 6 months in my workshop. Using power tools and welders with the AC500 is a demanding task and the Bluetti unit has not let me down. In this video I discuss what I have found, good and not so good with this Bluetti package. I talk a little on how it may also suit your needs, or not.
If you can build your own system that great, this video is not for you. Rather, it's for people that want an off the shelf system, ready to go. :)
Check out my Initial review video where I show in more detail the functionality of the entire AC500 and B300S System.

Building my Shed Bar Room with a Faux Concrete look Wall- Forme Industrious
It's been over two years since we started building on our rural acreage. First we built the big shed/ workshop and the our house. My Forme Industrious build have been well and truly put on hold with all the "other work" I have had to do (and still have to do). Time has come to get organised in the workshop.
I need to properly set up the metalwork and wood work areas, and I also need a clean area so I decided to segregate these areas with a big wall. We thought it might be good to make a type of Man Cave/ Bar Room; a room that you can relax in and build up inspiration for the next projects. The job is not yet finished but I have made good progress so far and thought I'd bring you along for the journey.
Thank you for watching!

Building the Shed House Loft Balustrade - Forme Industrious GOG EP21
Our videos show our progress as we build up our Rural "Off Grid" property in Northern Australia. So far we have built a workshop, and small shed home. Power is provided by our DIY Solar System and Batteries. Water from our water tanks. Our property has no provided services.
For all those who have been following along with our Off the Grid Series, Judy and I are getting on with some of the finishing touches after taking a break from all things building in the early part of 2024.
In this video we build the Loft Balustrade. We wanted something a little fancy so we chose to build with the forged, Blacksmith look. I still need to do some work for the stairs to get the whole project completed.
We are very happy with the end result.

Tiny Shed House Tour and Costs - Going Off Grid EP22
We have had a lot of requests for a tour and a cost break down of our Tiny Shed House we built ourselves; so here it is!
Located in beautiful Northern Queensland we have built our 48sqm Shed house with a loft. We love it!
Our little place is Off the Grid in terms of Power, water, Sewage and waste (we have no services).
There is of course much to do in terms of gardens and outside work. We'll record that and post here as we go.
We have all the build videos in our series Going Off Grid so be sure to check those out as they go into far more detail on our trials and tribulations of the journey so far.
Thanks for watching

Going Off Grid Ep19 - Our little Shed Home final jobs and moving in!
We are in! For that last 6 months Judy and I have been building our little Cabin/ Shed Home. But, we are not quite finished. We still need to complete some work up on our Mezzanine Floor, specifically, we need to line the back wall and add a Balustrade.
In this video, Judy and I get on and finish up on the jobs that will allow us to move in.
It is a small place, however we have all that we need and we are very comfortable.
We will do a full tour when the mezzanine is complete.
Thanks for watching this series!

Going Off Grid - DIY 4600w Solar Lithium Battery Power System EP7
Like most of the projects I have tackled on this Off Grid adventure, putting together a larger Solar Lithium Battery system was a big deal. Our videos show our progress as we build up our Rural "Off Grid" property in Northern Australia. So far we have built a workshop, and small shed home. Power is provided by our DIY Solar System and Batteries. Water from our water tanks. Our property has no provided services.

In this video we build the Loft Balustrade. We wanted something a little fancy so we chose to build with the forged, Blacksmith look. I still need to do some work for the stairs to get the whole project completed.
We are very happy with the end result.
For the stand alone power supply check out the Bluetti AC500 and B300s system. I use this when I need to run several heavy loads which would exceed the capacity of our fixed Solar power system.

What a contrast we have going from the Dry season to the Wet season. We went from it being so dry and having bush fire all around to wet and green in such a fast period.
We have a Huge pile of heavy tree trunks from the clearing for the buildings and we really hope to use as much of the good timber as possible. It's a massive job and so I bought a Stihl 91cc Chainsaw to help slab the trunks. It's my first time doing this sort of work and my inexperience really showed on my first few cuts. I did get better at it thank fully. This is very hard work out in the full sun 35 + Deg c when I was cutting. I cut up two logs from the pile and created a few boards that I will definitely use. I also did a little wood lathe work with some of the branches. That was fun.
It was fantastic having the family back here for Christmas 2023, good times!
During the filming of this video we experienced two Tropical Cyclones, the first was TC Jasper and the second TC Kiralee. We had no damage from either thankfully.
Lastly I had to drive down the coast to move my daughter from her apartment due to the rent going up 43% in one go! We found a place and got the move completed before I had to race back before the cyclone stopped my travel.
Thanks for watching, Regards

Like most of the projects I have tackled on this Off Grid adventure, putting together a larger Solar Lithium Battery system was a big deal. There is so much information out there on the inter webs, perhaps too much or it is too fractured. But being a "maker" I had to give it a go myself, with a bit of help. If you are going to take a project like this please do your own homework. This video is not a specific "how to do" this project, rather I'm giving you a little taste of the adventure. I hope you understand.
My system is as follows;
4600watt Solar input 13.44 KWH battery, totally off grid giving 4000w of 240v useable power.
Solar panels 12 Hyundai s390UF
Clenergy racking system
Victron Inverter charger 48/5000/70
Victron MPPT 250/85
Victron Cerbo GX and touch screen
Victron Smart Shunt
EVE 280 Amp Hour Lithium Batteries (liFePo4) x 16 (3.2V each)
Cable from MPPT to Battery 35mm2
Cable from Battery to Inverter 70mm2
2 x DC 25 amp breakers
1 x 80 amp MCB (need to replace with 125 amp)
2 x Roof Top Solar power DC Isolators
Thanks to my Mother and Father In law - Gloria and Michael for the help in getting the panels up. xoxo
Thanks to Tim Lawton for the advice and help in wiring up the 240 volt section and Solar Panels. Oh and the great feed, thank you!!

On our "Off Grid" property that we hope to move to soon, we have a lot of timber and twigs that are great for camp fires and cooking etc. I figured I should make a rocket stove and save money on natural gas.

This stove is quite large and puts out a lot of heat. Trick is to start a small fire in the combustion chamber, which heats the whole stove up and creates that rocket effect, sucks air in and it speeds up the combustion shooting flames out the top. Adding sticks as it heats up. (I love it :)
To make this Rocket Stove check the video for the dimensions I used. The main body is made from 100 x 100 x 4mm Tube. Legs from 65 x 35 x 4mm box. All Mild steel painted with heat paint.

In this video I make a K style Rocket Stove.
On our "Off Grid" property that we hope to move to soon, we have a lot of timber and twigs that are great for camp fires and cooking etc. I figured I should make a rocket stove and save money on natural gas.
Why a Rocket stove?
Rocket Stoves are quite efficient in burning small branches and twigs to produce a very hot directional fire directly beneath your frying pan/ pot etc. They use very little wood (fuel) to cook a meal and produce very little smoke once it is heated. They are a great portable option for camping.
