The Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) is an eleven-day film festival held in Santa Barbara, California since 1986.
In 2014, the festival screened over 200 films, including feature films and short films, from different countries and regions. Besides screenings, the festival also contains different sections, including celebrity tributes, industry panels and education programs.
History
Though founded in 1986, the festival has developed and changed over years.
When the present executive director, Roger Durling, first took over in 2002, he was confused by the low attendances of the film festival. It was believed that he noticed the "Sundance Effect" which refers to the popularity of Sundance Film Festival taken place in January. He then decided to move the festival to late January. Durling believed that by holding the film festival just days before Academy Awards in the spring, SBIFF can invite celebrities that have potential to win awards and provide audiences a chance meet them.
Santa Barbara was a station on the Port Authority of Allegheny County's light rail network, located in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. The street level stop was designed as a small commuter stop, serving area residents who walked to the train so they could be taken toward Downtown Pittsburgh. Both directional stops were only accessible via walkways near the intersection of Milford Dr. and Wyncote Rd. (to Pittsburgh) and beyond the dead end of South Conestoga Dr. (to South Hills Village).
Santa Barbara was one of eleven stops closed on June 25, 2012 as part of a system-wide consolidation effort.
The village is located in the middle of Cilento and its national park, 3km in south of Ceraso, on the provincial road from Vallo della Lucania to Ascea and nearby the green area of Gelbisonmountain. It has a little locality named Isca nearby the little river Fiumarella.
Santa Barbara is far 7km from Vallo della Lucania, 16 from Ascea, 18 from Velia, and almost 80 from Salerno. Nearby the town of Ceraso there is an exit of a modern carriageway, rapid variation on national road SS 18, who runs from Salerno - Battipaglia > Paestum - Agropoli - Vallo della Lucania, to Palinuro - Policastro > Sapri.
History
The village was founded around the year 1005. It has got a little castle, ancient seat of the local marquesses "Ferolla".
Jung-woo is a naïve music director of film and commercials, and works part-time at a music institute run by his friend. Until one day, his friend flees from his debts and workload, leaving Jung-woo to face the angry creditors, one of whom takes Jung-woo's precious guitar. While having a drink with director Kim, one of the creditors, Jung-woo meets Soo-kyung, whose sister is involved in the director's project. Soo-kyung is a promising creative director at an advertising agency, and Jung-woo's brief encounter with her leaves a good impression on him. When Jung-woo takes a job working on commercial music to buy back his guitar, the two run into each other. As they begin to spend time together at work and after-hours drinks, the more Jung-woo and Soo-kyung learn about each other. Aside from feeling attraction towards each other, they realize that they have several things in common, like coming from an atypical family and dreams of going on a winery tour. However, their relationship is put to the test when Jung-woo doesn't show up on the day of Soo-kyung's presentation because he was caught in heavy traffic. Soo-kyung misunderstands, calling him irresponsible, and the two break up. But not long after, they get a chance to work together on a project in Santa Barbara, California, which happens to be the location of their dream winery tour.
The $100 Film Festival is an independentfilm festival that runs for three days every March at the Globe Cinema in downtown Calgary, Alberta. The festival showcases films in all genres by local and international independent artists who enjoy working with traditional film.
Created in 1992 by the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers (CSIF), the $100 Film Festival started as a challenge for area filmmakers to a make a low-budget movie using Super8 film for less than $100. In later years, the CSIF changed the rules to allow filmmakers to work with 16 mm film and an increased budget. The $100 Film Festival still works to embody the spirit of low-budget film making and has become a popular event in Calgary.
The 168 Film Project is a Christian film festival.
The contest starts with the random assignment of verses based on a theme from the scriptures. Writing and preproduction is the next phase, followed by exactly one week (168 hours) to shoot and edit a finished film. If the film is on time and at or under the required total run time, then it is eligible for awards. Worldwide, over 750 short films have been produced for the competition from 2003 to 2012.

Founded by John David Ware in 2003, the 168 Film Project started with 13 entries.

The 2013 "Best Film" prize was awarded to ReMoved, a film based on the 2013 festival's assigned theme of "atonement".

In 2012 "Best Film" was given to "Refuge", produced by Paul e Luebbers and Joel VanderSpek.
The "Best International Film" award presented to "Ghosts of Europe" produced by Jesse Hutch and Jamie Rauch.
2011
The film "Useless", produced by Dennis & Olivia Bentivengo, was awarded "Best Film". "Best Director" to Owen Kingston, Tom Cooper for "Child’s Play".
