Brooks made his first rap appearance as an opening act for 2Pac and Digital Underground at the age of 12. He recorded his first album at 15 years old. In addition to a solo career, Brooks is also a member of the San Francisco rap group Get Low Playaz with JT The Bigga Figga, D-Moe, and Seff Tha Gaffla. One of Brooks' most notable tracks is "Shock the Party", which samplesWhodini's "One Love". The video for "Shock the Party" was filmed in the Fillmore district of San Francisco in the now-defunct Buena Vista Plaza East public housing towers, commonly referred to as OC (Outta Control) Housing Projects.
The film continues the story of poolhustler and stakehorse Edward "Fast Eddie" Felson from Tevis' first novel, The Hustler (1959), with Newman reprising his role from its film adaptation (1961). Unlike The Hustler, which was released by 20th Century Fox, The Color of Money was released by Disney'sTouchstone Pictures label. The film begins at a point more than 20 years after the events of the previous film, with Eddie retired from the pool circuit. Although Tevis did author a screenplay for the film, having adapted the storyline directly from his novel, the filmmakers decided not to use it, instead crafting an entirely different story under Tevis' title.
The Color of Money is a 1984 novel by American novelist Walter Tevis. It is a sequel to his earlier novel, The Hustler and poolhustler and stakehorse Edward "Fast Eddie" Felson from Tevis' first novel, The Hustler (1959)
Plot
The novel is set twenty years after The Hustler. Fast Eddie now runs a pool hall of his own. After seeing a lookalike of Minnesota Fats on the television, he decides to go in search of the real one, whom he finds in the Florida Keys. Eddie persuades Fats to go on a national tour. He meets Arabella, an English woman, who moves in with him. The finale is set at Lake Tahoe, where Eddie manages to best a number of younger players.
Television is a major subplot. At the beginning, Eddie watches most of his pool on the television, and tends to play the game by himself.
Film adaptation
The novel was adapted into a 1986 drama film directed by Martin Scorsese from a screenplay by Richard Price, based on the novel. The film differs greatly from the novel in terms of plot, and does not feature the Minnesota Fats character. Although Tevis did author a screenplay for the film, having adapted the storyline directly from his novel, the filmmakers decided not to use it, instead crafting an entirely different story under Tevis' title.
Tom Cruise is phenomenal.
He gives a nice show, but he really can play pool. This is my favorite scene from the movie.

The Color of Money: Modern Trailer
This trailer is fan made
The Color of Money is one of my favorite films and an underrated one from Scorsese's career as a director.
Newman has the coolness
Cruise has the ego
Mastrantonio has the looks
With the three of them, a journey embarks into the world of hustling and pool playing. Be sure to check out this entertaining film with the legendary Paul Newman who was from the same generation as Marlon Brando and James Dean as well as witnessing the rising star of a young Tom Cruise. It really is remarkable to see Cruise has never faded away throughout all these years in Hollywood and in the end, become a titan in the world of films, and the most successful actor ever.

Was it the heady feeling The thrill of opportunity Do you know your misdemeanour Has shamed the whole community Why did you take the money Why did you have to steal it I know you took the money Your mother couldn’t believe it Big cheese, you got the power Must make you irresistible, huh? These days an honest feller Seems like a flaming radical Why did you take the money Why did you have to steal it I know you took the money
