Eden Kane is the stage name of Richard Graham Sarstedt (born 29 March 1940). Born in India, he is a British pop singer, record producer, television personality and film actor. He has also recorded under his birth name and with his backing group the Downbeats. He is the older brother of musicians Peter Sarstedt and Clive Sarstedt, whom he has collaborated with on numerous Sarstedt Brothers albums. He had success in the early 1960s as a teenage pop star with hits including "Well I Ask You" which was a no. 1 UK hit in 1961, before moving to the United States, where he began an acting career.
Life and career
He was born in New Delhi, India, on 29 March 1940 where his parents Albert and Coral were civil servants. When Richard was a child the family – including Richard's two younger brothers Peter and Clive, and their three sisters – moved to Kurseong, near Darjeeling, to run a tea plantation. He attended a boarding school until March 1954, when, after his father's death, he moved with his brothers, sisters and mother to Britain. They settled in Norbury, Croydon, where Richard attended Heath Clark Grammar School. Inspired by Bill Haley, he learned guitar and formed a skiffle group, the Fabulous 5, which included his younger brothers.
A modern sailing ship is any large wind-powered vessel. Traditionally a sailing ship (or simply ship) is a sailing vessel that carries three or more masts with square sails on each. Large sailing vessels that are not ship-rigged may be more precisely referred to by their sail rig, such as schooner, barque (also spelled "bark"), brig, barkentine, brigantine or sloop.
Characteristics
There are many different types of sailing ships, but they all have certain basic things in common. Every sailing ship has a hull, rigging and at least one mast to hold up the sails that use the wind to power the ship.
The crew who sail a ship are called sailors or hands. They take turns to take the watch, the active managers of the ship and her performance for a period. Watches are traditionally four hours long. Some sailing ships use traditional ship's bells to tell the time and regulate the watch system, with the bell being rung once for every half hour into the watch and rung eight times at watch end (a four-hour watch).
Take a comprehensive tour through an early example of a globe-crossing sailing vessel from 1577. Not just an explorer, but also a pirate ship!

Our biggest upgrade yet (and we are only half way there). Join us as we transform our sailing boat's energy system with an ambitious solar panel installation, which results in a couple of setbacks, a bit of blood, and a floppy support beam. In this episode, we tackle the challenges of mounting two (HUGE) panels on our solar arch, aiming to keep our batteries charged as we head to higher latitudes.

paying trainees, who are, both legally and practically, considered part of the crew. Trainees eat and live
with the crew, on-board the ship. While sailing on Niagara can have a classroom component, most of
our training is hands-on. By becoming an active part of the crew, trainees learn the skills of traditional

*About Us*
We are Becka and Zach, a couple who, in 2020, dreamt of sailing off into the big blue. Trouble is- we were in a pandemic, had a university degree to finish, on a student budget, only had ever sailed dingies, oh and didn't have a boat. The dream seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane.
However, we worked hard, finished our degrees, worked as many hours as physically possible, saved with all our might, got experience and in March 2022 bought our very own sailboat, Teulu. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on.
We hope you can join us as we sail around the world and keep #bloodydoingit

While underway, the U.S. Brig Niagara operates as a Sailing School Vessel. This means that we accept
paying trainees, who are, both legally and practically, considered part of the crew. Trainees eat and live
with the crew, on-board the ship. While sailing on Niagara can have a classroom component, most of
our training is hands-on. By becoming an active part of the crew, trainees learn the skills of traditional
square-rig seamanship, through sailing, maintaining, and living on the ship.
The U.S. Brig Niagara, home-ported in Erie, Pennsylvania, is a replica of the relief flagship of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry. She is the embodiment of the dual mission of the Erie Maritime Museum and the Flagship Niagara League: she is both a historical artifact and a vehicle for sail training, an experiential learning process that preserves the skills of square-rig seamanship.

*About Us*
We are Becka and Zach, a couple who, in 2020, dreamt of sailing off into the big blue.

I will spend my whole life throughloving you, loving you. Winter, summer, spring-time, too, loving you, loving you. Makes no difference where I go or what I do. You know that I'll always be loving you. If I'm seen with someone new, don't be blue, don't be blue. I'll be faithful I'll be true; always true, true to you. There is only one for me, and you know who. You know that I'll always be loving you.
