National Rail - Think Safe, Stay Safe
Passenger and freight trains passing through stations can generate strong slipstreams. The CCTV footage shows an incident that happened on a station platform with a pushchair that didn’t have breaks fully on. Luckily no one was hurt this time.
We encourage everyone to think safe and stay safe.
Here are few tips to help you make your journey safer:
• Keep well back from the platform edge
• Hold tight onto wheelchairs and apply breaks fully
• When travelling with pushchairs strap in, hold tight and apply breaks fully.
• Hold tight onto portable items such as luggage and other belongings

How do trains change the tracks?
Trains are able to change the their trajectory with just a slight adjustment of the rail track. This clever switching design is achieved with a simple trick on the wheel and track. In this video we will also learn about rail crossing, wing rail and check rail. Let's take a closer look at how it works!

Why Are There Stones Along Railway Tracks?
The crushed stones that line railroad tracks are collectively called track ballast. More specifically, the track ballast constitutes the trackbed upon which sleepers or railroad ties are laid. As you may have seen, these stones are packed below, between and around the railroad ties. The thickness of the track ballast usually ranges between 25-30 cm, and varies depending on certain conditions pertaining to the geographical location of the railway track.
Track ballast usually consists of crushed rocks or stone, but in some cases, less suitable alternatives, like burnt clay, are also used. However, it’s important to understand that you can’t just throw a bunch of rocks on a railroad and be done with it. As mentioned, the stones in the track ballast have a characteristic shape, size and textu...

Another Hype? China's First Trackless 'Rail Bus' .
China has recently developed a remarkable trackless train that can operate suspended in the air and travel on roads. This groundbreaking invention has gained global recognition, and when exported overseas, it left local residents in awe. The train, known as the "Intelligent Rail Express System", was developed by CRRC Zhuzhou, a Chinese enterprise. It is the world's first trackless train and boasts complete independent intellectual property rights, placing its technological level at the forefront worldwide.
The trackless train, with a top speed of 70 kilometers per hour, utilizes traction brake coordination technology. It relies on a permanent magnet drive for power and employs distributed power cooperative control technology for joint propulsion. This innovative train not only astonished ...

- In one of the previous videos we talked about rail signaling as one of the key elements of the railway system. Today, we’ll talk about another such element, also crucial for the existence and functioning of the railway traffic. The railway track.
Railway track is a multilayered construction which typicaly includes rails, fish plates (also called joint bars or splice bars), rail fastening system, sleepers (also called ties), ballast and optionally a so called sub-ballast.
In this video we discuss the purpose of each of these elemets in the railway track, but also the role of the railway track as a whole.
All elements of the railway track must be able to absorb and transfer all forces resulting from the movements of trains (heavy static pressure plus dynamic impacts), and that from rails to sleepers, from sleepers to ballast, and finally from ballast to the base layer of the railway track.
At the end of the video, we briefly explained the ballast-less track (slab track), a type of modern and advanced railway track, in which the traditional elastic combination of sleepers and ballast is replaced by a rigid construction made of concrete or asphalt.

- For today, we decided to take a break from railway infrastructure projects and discussions about different countries’ railway systems, and instead, we’ll talk about one - let’s say - pure railway topic.
This video is therefore dedicated to the concept of a Marshalling Yard, and its role in the railway transport system.
The term Marshalling Yard actually varies depending on where you are, but, for example, in the US and Canada, it is known as the Classification Yard, while in Central Europe rather the Shunting Yard.
Besides a basic discussion about the role of the Marshalling yard in the railway system, the technology of work with trains and wagons in the yard, the types, and classifications of yards, we tried to show some examples of the world’s largest Marshalling yards.
Do you think we managed to present the main aspects of the railway technology in Marshalling yards? Tell us in the comments below!

As mentioned, the stones in the track ballast have a characteristic shape, size and texture. Their surface is not smooth and their edges are jagged, and for good reason. These rocks interlock with each other and therefore stay in place. If you replace them with circular or smooth rocks, they would slide over each other and compromise the strength of the track ballast. As you might imagine, this can have catastrophic results.

https://wn.com/Why_Are_There_Stones_Along_Railway_Tracks

This innovative train not only astonished foreign netizens but also promises to alleviate urban traffic congestion effectively.
China's achievement in producing this advanced trackless train further solidifies its position as a global technological powerhouse. With its domestic enterprises leading the way in groundbreaking inventions, China continues to push the boundaries of technological innovation.
