It is usually romanised as Chan in Cantonese, most widely used by those from Hong Kong, and sometimes as Chun. The surname Chen is also used in Hong Kong Cantonese, but not as often. The spelling, Chan, is widely used in Macao and Malaysia. In Min (including dialects of Chaoshan (Teochew), Hainan, Fujian, and Taiwan), the name is pronounced Tan. In Hakka and Taishanese, the name is spelled Gin. Some other Romanisations include Zen (from Wu), Ding and Chern. Chen can be variously spelt Tan, Chan or Chin in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries.
The name China is recorded in English from the mid 16th century. It is of uncertain origin, but likely derived from Middle Persian after the Qin dynasty. In Chinese, common names for China include Zhongguo (中國/中国) and Zhonghua (中華/中华), while Han (漢/汉) and Tang (唐) are common names given for the Chinese ethnicity. Other names include Huaxia (華夏/华夏), Shenzhou (神州) and Jiuzhou (九州). The People's Republic of China (Zhōnghuá Rénmín Gònghéguó) and Republic of China (Zhōnghuá Mínguó) are the official names for the two contemporary sovereign states currently claiming sovereignty over the traditional area of China. "Mainland China" is used to refer to areas under the jurisdiction by the PRC usually excluding Hong Kong and Macau.
There are also names for China based on a certain ethnic group other than Han; examples include "Cathay" based on the Khitan and "Tabgach" based on the Tuoba.
Sinitic names
In mainland China, the term Zhongguo is used to refer to all territories claimed by the PRC, including mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
Marine Corps Special Operations Command Detachment One (MCSOCOM Detachment One or Det 1), was a pilot program to assess the value of Marine special operations forces permanently detached to the United States Special Operations Command. It was commanded by Col. Robert J. Coates, former commanding officer of 1st Force Reconnaissance Company. Det One was activated on 19 June 2003 and had its headquarters at Camp Del Mar Boat Basin. It was disbanded in 2006 and succeeded by the permanent United States Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command, which is to be a 2700-person command.
Personnel
The unit consisted of 81 Marines and 5 Navy Corpsmen divided among 4 sections:
reconnaissance element (30 men)
intelligence element (29 men), containing a headquarters element and
a human intelligence (HumInt) exploitation team (HET), (6 men)
an all-source fusion team (12 men)
fires element (7 men)
headquarters element
The original Marines picked to form the detachment were hand-picked from over 500 personnel records. Despite common misconception, Det One was not a beefed up Force Reconnaissance platoon. While the reconnaissance element was composed mostly of Force Recon Marines, they made up only 24 of the 86 members of the detachment. The detachment, though lacking organic aviation, operated under the Marine Air-Ground Task Force philosophy of leveraging integrated, complementary capabilities to be more effective than the sum of its parts.

The 732 ESFS is one of the most highly decorated and regarded Air Force units that participated in OIF.
Organization
RFF 619 is the 732nd Expeditionary Security Forces. The 732nd ESFS was part of the 732nd Air Expeditionary Group under the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing, headquartered at Balad Air Base, Iraq.
Det-3 was a subordinate unit of the 1-1 Cavalry and the 336 MP Battalion. In January 2009, Detachment 2 was formed and deployed to join the PTT efforts in Iraq. They were based initially at FOB Mahmudiyah in the middle of the "Triangle of Death." Det 1, 4, and 5 were tasked with Law & Order missions on their respective FOBs at Speicher, the IZ, and Adder/Tallil. Det 6 was used both as a Police Transition Team in Tikrit based at Speicher and as a Law Enforcement Detachment on the FOB in Taji. 732nd ESFS MWD Handlers were assigned to Army units at FOBs throughout the AOR. The 732 ESFS Det 6 was also stationed at the MPSA (Mosul Public Safety Academy) Mosul Iraq from Dec 2005 to June 2006. and conducted In Lieu of missions for the U.S. Army.

Why Do So Many Koreans Have The Same Last Names? | Street Interview
As you know, the cultural differences between Asia and the West is vast, and a lot of you were asking us why so many Koreans seem to have the same last name. In fact, if you ever bumped into a Korean person, there is apparently a 45% chance that their surname is probably Kim, Lee, or Park. But is this true? And if so, it raises a lot of interesting questions, like what happens when they get married? How do Koreans even feel about having similar surnames from each other? We hit the streets of Seoul to find out.
The opinions expressed in this video are those of individual interviewees alone and do not reflect the views of ASIAN BOSS or the general Korean population.

To be very honest, I got rather shocked when I heard this song – because It seems too contemporary for the drama series. I was wondering if they classify this song under the wrong drama… 😂
But there’s one line in the lyrics which I really can’t make sense of – ‘如墨的夜景’. ‘夜景’ means ‘night scene’, ‘如墨’ means ‘like black ink’ literally. But if you think about it, you will need some light to be able to see the scenery at night. Yet if you use the adjective ‘like black ink’ to describe the night scene, doesn’t it imply that it’s all dark then? In that case, what kind of scenery can you see? So, in the end, I figure that perhaps the lyricist is trying to say that ‘this night scene is like an ancient landscape painting done with splashes of ink’. Then the song’s lyrics make sense.
Still, this is my sole interpretation. Do comment below if you think otherwise. I welcome all feedback and discussion!

This is an English translation of 还记得你的姓 by 陈泫孝, an OST of the Chinese drama series, 周生如故 (One And Only).
I Still Remember Your Surname – Chen Xuan Xiao (周生如故 One And Only OST) [Chi/Eng/Pinyin][Lyrics]

Comments:

0:00 - Intro
1:28 - Are all Korean surnames the same?
2:31 - How did Koreans end up with similar surnames?
3:54 - Can you marry someone with the same surname?
5:37 - Would your name change after marriage?
8:08 - Tips on understanding Korean names written in English.
