I have been obsessed with this building since I first saw it and recently decided to make a bit of a project out of it.
I limited myself to 100 hours and figured out some workflows I wanted to try out and some goals I was interested in achieving. I feel like I hit my high level goals and most of my lower level goals as well. I was able to keep in budget (time) and am happy with the level of polish I was able to achieve.
I learned quite a bit and know where my next project will go and how I will get there.
The Substance workflows I used to create the materials for this scene really worked great and allowed me great flexibility and speed in iteration and results.

The building of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences (unofficial name — "Golden Brains"— a complex of structures located in the Southwest of the city of Moscow, at the address Leninsky Prospekt, 32A, and serving as the seat of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Construction, which began in 1973, dragged on until 1990. Complex, meeting the latest global trends and technologies of the time, innovative and therefore expensive project was difficult to implement in the conditions of the embargo imposed on the USSR and the lack of foreign currency financing. The second stage of the complex was put into operation in 1997. The golden wedding of the building causes a lot of speculation. The complex spatial structure was popularly nicknamed "golden brains". Inside the structure there are systems that ensure the operation of the building. Mirrored glasses with a micron inner gold coating refract and reflect light even in cloudy weather and create the effect of radiance. In the low-rise part of the complex there is a concert hall with a capacity of 1.5 thousand seats, a winter garden and a courtyard with a glass gallery leading to the elevator hall of the high-rise part. Administrative offices are located in high—rise buildings, and on the upper floor there is an observation deck and a restaurant. The absence of nearby high-rise buildings makes the complex the only architectural dominant of the southwestern part of Moscow and one of the accents of the Vorobyovy Gory.
