At the subsequent federal criminal trial of Weaver and Harris, Weaver's attorney Gerry Spence made accusations of "criminal wrongdoing" against every agency involved in the incident: the FBI, the USMS, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), and the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) for Idaho. At the completion of the trial, the Department of Justice's Office of Professional Responsibility formed a Ruby Ridge Task Force to investigate Spence's charges. The 1994 task force report was released in redacted form by Lexis Counsel Connect, an information service for attorneys. It raised questions about the conduct and policy of all the agencies.

Ruby Ridge Federal Siege - Forgotten History
For 11 days in August 1992 the country stood in amazement as they watched nonstop coverage of federal government agencies, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, the U.S. Marshal’s Service and Federal Bureau of Investigation with local law enforcement surrounded a small cabin in a standoff in the mountains of Idaho. When it was over, three people would be dead, and a government fed media spin machine went into hyper drive to try and make sense of what had happened at a place called Ruby Ridge. Hosted by Colin D. Heaton. Forgotten History is a 10th Legion Pictures Production.

The standoff that mesmerized the nation would leave Weaver injured, his wife and son dead, and some convinced that the federal government was out of control.

On this episode of GSL UNCUT, Melissa and Jeremy have an in depth conversation with Ruby Ridge Survivor, Sara Weaver. Sara is the oldest daughter of the Weaver family who were the focus of the events that took place during the 11 day standoff in North Idaho.
The siege that came to be known simply as Ruby Ridge occurred in August of 1992. The tragic series of events resulted in the death of Sara's 14 year old brother Samuel Weaver, her mother Vicki Weaver, and a US Marshall.
Sara's story is one of hope, faith and forgiveness. She serves as an incredible beacon of strength, resiliency, and perseverance. We hope you enjoy our conversation.
It is 11 days of American history that the government would certainly like to forget. What started as an attempt to arrest Randy Weaver would end in a deadly confrontation and eventual siege at Ruby Ridge. Jason Mattera has the inside details of what happened up on that Idaho mountaintop.

The national spotlight was clearly focused on a hilltop in North Idaho twenty-five years ago. What have we learned from those eleven days that changed the way how many view Federal law enforcement policies?
