An RPM package can contain an arbitrary set of files. The larger part of RPM files encountered are “binary RPMs” (or BRPMs) containing the compiled version of some software. There are also “source RPMs” (or SRPMs) files containing the source code used to produce a package. These have an appropriate tag in the file header that distinguishes them from normal (B)RPMs, causing them to be extracted to /usr/src on installation. SRPMs customarily carry the file extension “.src.rpm” (.spm on file systems limited to 3 extension characters, e.g. old DOS FAT).
Revolutions per minute (abbreviated rpm, RPM, rev/min, r/min) is a measure of the frequency of rotation, specifically the number of rotations around a fixed axis in one minute. It is used as a measure of rotational speed of a mechanical component. In the French language, tr/mn (tours par minute) is the common abbreviation. The German language uses the abbreviation U/min or u/min (Umdrehungen pro Minute).
Here the sign ↔ (correspondent) is used instead of = (equal). Formally, hertz (Hz) and radian per second (rad/s) are two different names for the same SI unit, s−1. However, they are used for two different but proportional ISQ quantities: frequency and angular frequency (angular speed, magnitude of angular velocity). The conversion between a frequency f (measured in hertz) and an angular velocity ω (measured in radians per second) are:
The LP (long play), or 331⁄3rpm microgroove vinyl record, is a format for phonograph (gramophone) records, an analog sound storage medium. Introduced by Columbia Records in 1948, it was soon adopted as a new standard by the entire record industry. Apart from relatively minor refinements and the important later addition of stereophonic sound capability, it has remained the standard format for vinyl albums.
Format advantages
At the time the LP was introduced, nearly all phonograph records for home use were made of an abrasive (and therefore noisy) shellac compound, employed a much larger groove, and played at approximately 78 revolutions per minute (rpm), limiting the playing time of a 12-inch diameter record to less than five minutes per side. The new product was a 12- or 10-inch (30 or 25cm) fine-grooved disc made of vinyl and played with a smaller-tipped "microgroove" stylus at a speed of 331⁄3rpm. Each side of a 12-inch LP could play for more than 20 minutes. Only the microgroove standard was truly new, as both vinyl and the 331⁄3rpm speed had been used for special purposes for many years, as well as in one unsuccessful earlier attempt to introduce a long-playing record for home use.
The USS Antietam was laid down by the Litton-Ingalls Shipbuilding Corporation at Pascagoula, Mississippi on 15 November 1984, launched on 14 February 1986, and commissioned on 6 June 1987 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Capability
With her guided missiles and rapid-fire guns, she is capable of facing and defeating threats in the air, on the sea, on the shore, and beneath the sea. She also carries two Sikorsky SH-60 SeahawkLAMPS helicopters, capable of multiple missions, but primarily equipped for anti-submarine warfare [ASW].
Antietam is an indie rock band from Louisville, Kentucky formed in 1984 by members of the Babylon Dance Band, husband and wife duo Tara Key and Tim Harris. They released six albums between 1985 and 1995, and since the late 1980s have been based in New York. They ceased working as a band in 1996 but reformed in 2004 and have gone on to release several more albums.
History
Key and Harris (both vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, and half of the Babylon Dance Band) initially recruited Wolf Knapp and Michael Weinert to complete the Antietam lineup, the name taken from the site of a battle in the American Civil War. They signed to Homestead Records who issued their eponymous debut in July 1985. By the release of second album Music from Elba, Weinert had been replaced by former Babylon Dance Band drummer Sean Mulhall, and Danna Pentes of Fetchin Bones had been added on violin. They relocated to New York, and it would be three years before their next release, the "Eaten up by Hate" twelve-inch single, now on Triple X Records. They followed this with the album Burgoo in 1990, produced by Ira Kaplan and Georgia Hubley of Yo La Tengo, and now with Charles Schultz on drums. Josh Madell replaced Schultz, and played on Everywhere Outside (1991) and the live album Antietam Comes Alive!, recorded as CBGB. The band returned to Homestead for the album Rope-a-Dope in 1995. The band's last release from this period was the "Alibi" single in 1996.

ONE REVOLUTION PER MINUTE - a short film by Erik Wernquist
ONE REVOLUTION PER MINUTE is a short film I made to explore my fascination with artificial gravity in space.
It takes place aboard the "SSPO Esperanta" - a planetary orbiter that spins around itself at a rate of one revolution per minute (1 RPM). With a radius of 450 meters, the spin generates artificial gravity with an effect of approximately 0.5 g along its main deck.
With the "Esperanta" I wanted to create a leisure-like environment, such as a hotel or cruise ship, and explore what the views could be like onboard when the orbiter visits some of the worlds in our solar system. I was also particularly interested in how light and shadows from the sun play around in the interior as it spins around.
For those reasons, I decided to keep all artificial lights off - with the exception of ...

As this made the place appear quite desolate, I found it interesting to imagine someone being onboard, alone…

What is the difference between an EP and an LP?
LP stands for Long Play, and means, in essence, a full album. The term began being used to refer to 12-inch 33 1/3 RPM records that have a runtime of about 30-44 minutes, and, over time, the term also started to be used with cassettes and CDs.
EP stands for extended play, which is longer than a single and not long enough to be an album.

I have used this technique to clean very dirty records that I have bought from thrift stores, yard sales, and antique stores. It works very well. If you don't have reverse osmosis water on hand to rinse the washed record, you can use distilled water.
The exact requirements are not necessarily set in stone. Different sources will give different definitions.
For sales purposes, the Recording Industry Association of America says between 3 and 5 songs, and a runtime under 30 minutes is an EP. But for Grammy Awards, an album must have five or more songs, and a runtime over 15 minutes, and they do not differentiate between LPs and EPs.
On the other hand, both Apple Music and Spotify use the criteria of 4 to 6 songs with a total runtime of under 30 minutes. Apple Music also considers a record an EP if there are 1 to 3 songs, with one song longer than 10 minutes, and a total runtime of less than 30 minutes.
But do the exact terms matter? Not really. Other than streaming services putting the album in the EP section of an artist's profile, there's no real practical difference between an album being called an EP or a LP.
Thanks for watching.

It's easily the most common question we get asked. What is my record worth? Am I sitting on a gold mine? Is this copy of Thriller gonna put my kids through college? First things first — we tackle how to properly identify a specific record, and then show you the best way to determine the current market value.

Lyrics:
In my mind everyday
I’m feeling low, being high
Come and stay with me
Light it up, fire
Chorus:
You let me down now
You let me burn loose
I begged for love, love
You fucked me up good
Bluer than the sky
My soul and balls alike
You let me down now
You let me burn loose
A role I had to act on
I was aching for a chance
To play a part in your day
And be the highlight of your night
Chorus
Sitting by you
Drunk and lost
As I tell you what it’d cost
For you and me to be an us
A hope for a chance
What sobered up
My precious heart
As you tore it out
Chorus

For those reasons, I decided to keep all artificial lights off - with the exception of some emergency lights to avoid complete darkness - and to only let natural light illuminate the interiors. As this made the place appear quite desolate, I found it interesting to imagine someone being onboard, alone…

This trigonometry video tutorial provides a basic introduction into linear speed and angular velocity. It discusses how to convert linear speed to angular speed. It explains how to convert rpm values or revolutions per minute into feet per second. It also shows you how to convert rad/s to m/s, rev/s to mph, km/hr to rpm, and miles per hour to radians per second. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems.
