Robin Wilson (author)

Robin Scott Wilson (born September 19, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio, USA) is an American science fiction author and editor, and former President of California State University, Chico.

Wilson earned a BA degree from Ohio State University in 1949, before spending a year in the Merchant Marine. He then went back to school, obtaining an MA at the University of Illinois. He served in military intelligence in the United States Navy for several years, before finishing his PhD work at the University of Illinois in 1959.

Wilson worked for the CIA for several years in the 1960s before deciding to devote himself to teaching and writing. He taught English and writing, and organized the original Clarion Writers Workshop, at Clarion State College, Pennsylvania 1968, followed by instruction at Tulane University, and Michigan State University. He also wrote several science fiction novels, and served as a consulting editor for the Journal of Higher Education. He had several short stories published in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction during the 1990s. In many of his fiction works, he is credited as "Robin Scott".

Robin James Wilson (born 5 December 1943) is an emeritus professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Open University, having previously been Head of the Pure Mathematics Department and Dean of the Faculty. He was a Stipendiary Lecturer at Pembroke College, Oxford and, as of 2006, Professor of Geometry at Gresham College, London, where he has also been a visiting professor. On occasion, he guest teaches at Colorado College.

From January 1999 to September 2003, Robin Wilson was editor-in-chief of the European Mathematical Society Newsletter.

He is the son of Harold Wilson, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He is married with two daughters.

Robin Wilson (born September 26, 1969) is founder and CEO of the lifestyle brand Robin Wilson Home. She is an interior designer and expert on healthy homes with a focus on creating a clean design lifestyle. She is author of 'Clean Design: Wellness for Your Lifestyle' (Greenleaf, 2015). Her first book was 'Kennedy Green House: Designing an Eco-Friendly Home from the Foundation to the Furniture' (Greenleaf, 2010), with the foreword written by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. She is an ambassador to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America an she is on the Board of the Sustainable Furnishings Council.

In April 2015, she appeared on a national TV segment for NBC Open House with focus on sustainability in design and healthy spaces.

Early life and career

Wilson was born in Austin, Texas, and attended public schools in Austin. After graduating from S. F. Austin High School, she entered the University of Texas at Austin in 1987 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. While in college, she worked at the Lower Colorado River Authority and became immersed in environmental issues from energy efficiency to water conservation. She joined Mercer Management Consulting in Boston. In 1997, she moved to New York while working for Heidrick & Struggles, a company that went public in 1999 which gave her a windfall to matriculate with a Master's degree at New York University, where she studied Real Estate Finance. She founded her firm in 2000 and rebranded it to the eponymous Robin Wilson Home in 2006. As an early advocate for clean construction method, she insists that work teams use low-VOC paints in both residential and commercial spaces to limit the wheezes and sneezes.
