Robertson Hare (born John Robertson Hare) was a British comedy actor who came to prominance on the stage in the famous Aldwych farces with Ralph Lynn and Tom Walls, in which he often lost his trousers. He appeared in the first of over 35 films in 1930 as Harold Twine in 'Rookery Nook'. Others included 'A Cuckoo in the Nest', 'A Cup of Kindness', 'Pot Luck', 'Banana Ridge', 'Our Girl Friday', 'The Young Ones' and 'Hotel Paradiso'. He was known as 'Bunny' to his friends and more modern audiences will remember him as Henry -- the Archdeacon in the BBC TV comedy All Gas and Gaiters (1966-1971). JOHN ROBERTSON HARE, más conocido como ROBERTSON HARE (17 de diciembre de 1891 – 25 de enero de 1979) fue un actor de comedias de nacionalidad británica, popularmente conocido como Bunny.
Biografía y carrera
Nacido en Londres, Inglaterra, Hare empezó su carrera como actor teatral, actuando de manera regular en la serie de farsas del Aldwych representadas en las décadas de 1920 y 1930.
Consiguió la notoriedad por su trabajo en las farsas del Teatro Aldwych, y era famoso por perder rutinariamente los pantalones en el escenario, momento en el cual exclamaba la muletilla "Oh Calamity". Para el público moderno es quizás más recordado por sus actuaciones como archidiácono en la popular sitcom All Gas and Gaiters.

JOHN ROBERTSON HARE, better known as ROBERTSON HARE (December 17, 1891 - January 25, 1979) was a comedy actor of British nationality, popularly known as Bunny.
Biography and career
Born in London, England, Hare began his career as a stage actor, performing regularly in the Aldwych series of farces performed in the 1920s and 1930s.
He gained notoriety for his work on the Aldwych Theater farces, and was famous for routinely losing his pants on stage, at which point he would exclaim the catchphrase "Oh Calamity." For modern audiences he is perhaps best remembered for his performances as an archdeacon on the popular sitcom All Gas and Gaiters.
His film debut took place in 1930, starring in many big-screen versions of the Aldwych farces, including Turkey Time (1933) and A Cup of Kindness (1934). However, in television he did not act until he was 75 years old, in the sitcom All Gas and Gaiters, a production for which he would continue to work past eighty years of age.
Robertson Hare died in London, England, in 1979 of bronchopneumonia.

JOHN ROBERTSON HARE, better known as ROBERTSON HARE (December 17, 1891 - January 25, 1979) was a comedy actor of British nationality, popularly known as Bunny.
Biography and career
Born in London, England, Hare began his career as a stage actor, performing regularly in the Aldwych series of farces performed in the 1920s and 1930s.
He gained notoriety for his work on the Aldwych Theater farces, and was famous for routinely losing his pants on stage, at which point he would exclaim the catchphrase "Oh Calamity." For modern audiences he is perhaps best remembered for his performances as an archdeacon on the popular sitcom All Gas and Gaiters.
His film debut took place in 1930, starring in many big-screen versions of the Aldwych farces, including Turkey Time (1933) and A Cup of Kindness (1934). However, in television he did not act until he was 75 years old, in the sitcom All Gas and Gaiters, a production for which he would continue to work past eighty years of age.
Robertson Hare died in London, England, in 1979 of bronchopneumonia.
