The Ringwood and District Cricket Association (or, better known as the RDCA) is a club cricket competition based in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. The competition consists of 31 clubs based around the Ringwood area of Melbourne and has been running seasonally since its induction in 1920/21 season.
In the 2006/07 season, the Association consisted of 32 grades ranging from Under 12's through to Veteran and Master classes. In addition, the RDCA also operate non-competitive grades in both Under 10 and Under 12 levels to assist in the development of the game.
In senior competition, Division 1 is known as the Lindsay Trollope Shield, Division 2 as the Wilkins Cup and Division 3 as the Newey Plate. These three divisions are composed predominantly of the first eleven of each club. Lower sides compete in a grading system from A Grade to M grade.
Prior to the 2010/11 season, Division 1 was known as the Chandler Shield. The name was changed to the Lindsay Trollope Shield between seasons at the RDCA AGM in August 2010 in recognition of his contributions to the RDCA for many years.
Ringwood is recorded in a charter of 961, in which King Edgar gave 22 hides of land in Rimecuda to Abingdon Abbey. The name is also recorded in the 10th century as Runcwuda and Rimucwuda. The second element Wuda means a 'wood'; Rimuc may be derived from Rima meaning 'border, hence "border wood." The name may refer to Ringwood's position on the fringe of the New Forest, or on the border of Hampshire.William Camden in 1607 gave a much more fanciful derivation, claiming that the original name was Regne-wood, the "Regni" (or Regnenses) being an ancient people of Britain.
In the Domesday Book of 1086, Ringwood (Rincvede) had been appropriated by the Crown and all but six hides taken into the New Forest. Prior to 1066 Ringwood had been held by Earl Tostig. During the 12th and early 13th centuries Ringwood, like other manors of which John and Henry III had the immediate overlordship, frequently changed hands. Thus it was held by Roland de Dinan, a Breton lord, in 1167; Robert de Beaumont, 4th Earl of Leicester before 1204; Theodoric the Teuton, a servant of King John, after 1204; William Marshal, 2nd Earl of Pembroke, in 1217, and intermittently by the third and fourth Earls up to 1237; Simon de Steyland, the King's clerk, around 1237; John son of Geoffrey, described as "of the lands of the Bretons", from 1240; Nicholas of Ely, Bishop of Winchester, from about 1272; and then by three successive queens: Queen Eleanor, Queen Margaret, and Queen Isabella, from 1280 until 1331.

NEW FOREST WALK at RINGWOOD (NEW FOREST NATIONAL PARK)
This is another video in my series “New Forest Walks” accompanied by my Whippet (Logan). In this episode I take a 4.5 mile walk that follows the Avon Valley Path as it weaves its way out of the town of Ringwood (South West Hampshire) and heads South through tranquil water meadows in the direction of Christchurch.
Looping back through farmland and country lanes I get to see the delightful Hightown Lake and walk along the disused “Castleman Corkscrew”Railway Line.
The weather was superb for this walk and the route along the River Avon was very pretty. Logan got to have some fun towards the end of the walk when he got to try out a “Dog Activity” area!

Ringwood was noted as the second most expensive market town in England in July 2008
Ringwood is the home of the Ringwood Brewery, which produces a variety of cask ales and runs five pubs in the local area, such as the Inn on the Furlong in Ringwood. Ringwood brewery also produces a variety of wines. It was recently taken over by Marston's Brewery, who plan to keep the brewery and all its brands, but lease out its tied public houses.
The main road through Ringwood is the A31, which runs west to Dorchester and east to Southampton via the New Forest. A bypass of the town was completed in two stages; the first to the west in the 1940s. Ringwood railway station opened in 1847. It lay on the Southampton and Dorchester Railway. In 1862 the Ringwood, Christchurch and Bournemouth Railway created a new link with Christchurch. The line to Christchurch was closed in 1935, and the station ceased operating when the Southampton and Dorchester Railway line was closed in 1964.

Episode 32 - Ray Walden and the Hampshire War-Ag. In 1940 Armed police besieged Borough Farm, where elderly tenant farmer Ray Walden had been evicted by the Hampshire War Agricultural Executive Committee. While resisting the eviction, Ray Walden was killed. We also look at Lloyd George's decision not to join Churchill's war cabinet and instead promote scientific farming fom his 60-acre farm at Churt in Surrey, as well as the wartime activities of George Stapledon, Daniel Hall, C S Orwin and Gerard Wallop, Lord Lymington and later Earl of Portsmouth. Lymington's autobiogrpahy reveals a pro-Nazi bent and his presence on the Hampshire War-Ag contributed to its inflexible tendencies.

I use a GOPRO HERO 7 Black Action Camera (and a Gimbal) together with a Canon SX 400IS
It was worth the wait! The Ringwood Carnival 2022!
The weather was kind again and the streets were packed.
It was a great day and evening and everyone made such an effort.
We decided to make this video a little bit longer because there was so much to see.

Places to see in ( Ringwood - UK )
Ringwood is an historic market town and civil parish in Hampshire, England, located on the River Avon, close to the New Forest and northeast of Bournemouth. Ringwood has a history dating back to Anglo-Saxon times, and has held a weekly market since the Middle Ages. The town of Ringwood is situated in the southwest of Hampshire, on the border with Dorset.
Ringwood is a town on the east bank of the River Avon in Hampshire. The parish includes the hamlets of Poulner, Hangersley, Hightown, Crow, Kingston, and Bisterne. Ringwood has a weekly market in the traditional market place. A cattle market ran until 1989 in the Furlong, which is now home to a Waitrose supermarket, coffee shops and fashion outlets.

LYRICS:
Head in the sky, screaming Father please take me away
I've never felt so afraid
We all hide in masks we can't remove
Desperate lives bring desperate intentions
With sceptic feelings, without compassion
Uniforms and lives we can't portray
We are defined by the hurt and all our crimes
Kings and queens wear crowns with thorns
Blackened skies are what we have in store
Won't you save yourself?
Search for something more
Burning down bridges falling apart
My life is treason yours is forgot
Burning down bridges falling apart
My life is treason yours is forgot
We are the ones that live past the excuse of life and its flaws
We are surrounded by these broken dreams
But, disambiguation is what we hold on to
So speak to me with your heart and hopes
Kings and queens wear crowns with thorns
Blackened skies are what we have in store
Won't you save yourself?
