Richard Philips, better known by his stage name Richard X, is a British songwriter and music producer. Gaining attention as a pioneer of the bootleg craze, Richard X has earned success as a producer and remixer. He has helmed hit singles for artists including Annie, Kelis, Liberty X, Rachel Stevens and Sugababes. According to an early issue of the now defunct Popworld magazine, Philips' alias comes from a postcard which was sealed with a kiss misinterpreted for the letter X.
Richard X is known for his "synthesised, grungy pop music", which was inspired by bands such as The Human League and Kraftwerk. His original intention was to "reinvent" pop music by making records that are "deliberately unplayable". Referring to his 'Girls on Top' bootlegs, Richard X says, "At the time it was inspired by anti the po-facedness of the electronica scene as much as anything. The production side, how it sounded – rough and spiky, electronic and modern – was what did it for me. Taking pop and putting it through a blender sound wise was the spirit of the times."
Being Nobody is a song produced by Richard X and recorded by English-Irish pop group Liberty X. It was released as the lead single from Richard X's debut studio album Richard X Presents His X-Factor Vol. 1 (2003), as well as the lead single from Liberty X's second studio album Being Somebody (2003).
The song is a pseudo-mashup, taking the lyrics of Chaka Khan's signature song "Ain't Nobody" and placing them over an instrumental interpolation of The Human League's "Being Boiled". Additional elements from both songs were also used such as the recurring synth line from "Ain't Nobody" and the line "OK, ready? Let's do it." in the intro of the main mix are from the intro of "Being Boiled".
Reception
Critical reception
The song received mostly positive reviews from music critics. It was deemed "instantly memorable" by RTÉ.ie reviewer Linda McGee, whilst Louis Pattison of NME believed it was "Truly, a record to get over-excited about." Alexis Kirke of musicOMH said: "The marriage of the credible dance-bootleg production of Richard X with high profile pop-act Liberty X is not only a perfect career-expanding synergy for both, but also a powerful musical synergy in which the seventies meets the eighties during the noughties." Writing for ukmix.org, Martin P gave the song five stars out of five and called it "It's pure pop perfection with a twist of R&B – one of the best Liberty X singles!"
Ram Dass first went to India in 1967. He was still Dr. Richard Alpert, a prominent Harvard psychologist and psychedelic pioneer with Dr. Timothy Leary. He continued his psychedelic research until that fateful Eastern trip in 1967, when he traveled to India. In India, he met his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately known as Maharajji, who gave Ram Dass his name, which means “servant of God.” Everything changed then – his intense dharmic life started, and he became a pivotal influence on a culture that has reverberated with the words “Be Here Now” ever since. Ram Dass’ spirit has been a guiding light for three generations, carrying along millions on the journey, helping to free them from their bonds as he works through his own.

Since 1968, Ram Dass has pursued a panoramic array of spiritual methods and practices from potent ancient wisdom traditions, including bhakti or devotional yoga focused on the Hindu deity Hanuman; Buddhist meditation in the Theravadin, Mahayana Tibetan, and Zen Buddhist schools, and Sufi and Jewish mystical studies. Perhaps most significantly, his practice of karma yoga or spiritual service has opened up millions of other souls to their deep, yet individuated spiritual practice and path. Ram Dass continues to uphold the boddhisatva ideal for others through his compassionate sharing of true knowledge and vision. His unique skill in getting people to cut through and feel divine love without dogma is still a positive influence on many people from all over the planet.

Form and Suffering
What is your first reaction to suffering? Ram Dass looks at the role of the ego in our reactivity to life’s dark reflections. Exploring how our response to suffering changes as the hearts open through our practices along the spiritual path.
“When we face suffering, the first thing is that we have to react immediately – because we have to change it. That is the first natural reaction and is fed by our psychological ego. The recognition of suffering is a threat to the stability of the ego. The first step is to slow down.” – Ram Dass
Just Another Cloud (28:00)
The ego’s love always has conditions, Even in its relationship with God. Ram Dass looks at the way in which God’s unconditional love can open us to living in truth and loving without any strings attached. He examines the way in which meditative practice can bring balance to our perspective and relationship with the world.
“Once you see that the only thing that keeps you in your own head trips, of who you think you are and how you think it is, a lot of stuff that meant a lot to you before stops meaning so much. I don’t care if I am bald, because God loves me.” – Ram Dass
Choosing Love Over Fear (44:40)
How can choosing love, even romantic love, bring us out of separation and into a deeper level of awareness? Ram Dass looks at the way in which the heart allows for the experience of grace and true being. How can we create the optimum environment for our hearts to open?
“What we are talking about here are very subtly varying techniques for working with where you are stuck. The doorway is through the heart, because through the heart love flows. The mind creates boundaries.” – Ram Dass

Ram Dass's work included work with the love serve remember foundation and publishing countless books including such incredible works as Grist for the Mill, Be Here Now, & Journey of Awakening. Ram Dass born as Richard Alpert and Timothy Leary were two professors at Harvard who conducted research on psychedelics, lsd, and psilocybin in the early 1960s. Their work helped to popularize psychedelics and psychedelic experiences among the counterculture of the time. However, their work was eventually shut down by the Harvard administration and they both left the university. They were both able to continue their research elsewhere and at the same time, they both became well-known for their work in psychology.
He was also known for the hanuman foundation, Seva foundation, lama foundation. Ram Dass meaning "Servant of Ram" was a true servant of God with a spiritual heart and was often credited with introducing a generation of westerners to Hindu meditation who held many memorable retreats in Maui as well often taking trips to India but mading his home in Maui where he lived until he passed away on December 22, 2019.

Captured effortlessly, That's the way it was, Happened so naturally, I did not know it was love, The next thing I felt was you, Holding me close, What was I gonna do? I let myself go And now we're flyin' through the stars, I hope this night will last forever I've been waitin' for you, It's been so long, I knew just what I would do, When I heard your song, Filled my heart with your bliss, You gave me freedom, You knew I could not resist, I needed someone And now we're flyin' through the stars, I hope this night will last forever, Oh oh oh oh Ain't nobody (nobody baby) Loves me better (loves me better) Makes me happy (so happy) Makes me feel this way Ain't nobody (nobody yeah yeah) Loves me better than you I wait for night time to come, And bring you to me, Can't believe I'm the one, I was so lonely. I feel like no one could feel, I must be dreamin', I want this dream to be real, I need this feelin' I make my wish upon a star, And hope this night will last forever Ain't nobody (nobody baby) Loves me better (loves me better) Makes me happy (so happy) Makes me feel this way Ain't nobody (nobody yeah yeah) Loves me better than you At first you put your arms around me (First you put you arms around me) Then you put your charms around me (Then you put your charms around me) I can't resist this sweet surrender (I cant resist this sweet surrender) Oh my nights are warm and tender (oh my nights so warm and tender) We stare into each other's eyes (We stare into each others eyes) And what we see is no surprise (and what we see is no surprise) Got a feeling most will treasure (Got a feeling most will treasure) And a love so deep we cannot measure Ain't nobody (nobody baby) Loves me better (loves me better) Makes me happy (so happy) Makes me feel this way Ain't nobody (nobody yeah yeah) Loves me better than you Ain't nobody (nobody baby) Loves me better (loves me better) Makes me happy (so happy) Makes me feel this way Ain't nobody (nobody yeah yeah)
