R. B. Sheridan was born in 1751 in Dublin, Ireland, where his family had a house on then fashionable Dorset Street. While in Dublin Sheridan attended the English Grammar School in Grafton Street. The family moved permanently to England in 1758 when he was age seven. He was a pupil at Harrow School from 1762 to 1768.
His mother, Frances Sheridan, was a playwright and novelist. She had two plays produced in London in the early 1760s, though she is best known for her novel The Memoirs of Sidney Biddulph (1761). His father, Thomas Sheridan, was for a while an actor-manager at the Smock Alley Theatre but, following his move to England in 1758, he gave up acting and wrote several books on the subject of education and, especially the standardisation of the English language in education. After Harrow his father employed a private tutor, Lewis Ker, who directed his studies in his father's house in London, while Angelo instructed him in fencing and horsemanship.
Brinsley is a village in Nottinghamshire, England. The church of St James was built in 1837-38 from Mansfield stone, the chancel being added in 1877. The village is split into two sections, Old Brinsley which is within Broxtowe and New Brinsley which is in Ashfield.
2007 Local Election
Brinsley elected Sadie Graham, a British National Party candidate in the 2007 Broxtowe council elections. However, she sat as an independent until she was dismissed for failing to attend meetings.
Brinsley Headstocks
Brinsley used to be a major mining village. The only remainder of this heritage are the headstocks. They are not only of significance for the area but are also the only headstocks left of this kind. After the final closure of Brinsley Pit they had been moved to a museum but have recently been restored and brought back to near their original place. The Friends of Brinsley Headstocks have worked on turning the area into a nature reserve. There are several farms in the area that have gone organic. The countryside is often explored by leisure walkers with walks organised by D.H. Lawrence Heritage.

The Critic 1779 comedy by William Brinsley Sheridan, 1982 TV production, Topaz AI Enhanced
The Critic: or, a Tragedy Rehearsed by Richard Brinsley Sheridan premiered at the Drury Lane Theatre in London in 1779.
This 1982 BBC TV Play of the Month production has a stellar cast but is not commercially available.
During the early 80's when this was made the BBC would routinely reuse video tapes or just lose them even though this content was publicly funded via a compulsory annual license fee paid by all UK TV owners. Not sure if the master for this still exists. This a poor domestic VHS recording significantly enhanced using the Topaz deep learning based video enhancer 1.9.0 (Artemis LQv10 model). As well as consummate performers like Alan Badel (Sir Fretful Plagiary) this production also features Hogwood's Academy of Ancient Music plus some of the finest baroque vocalists of the era. Even though the original 1779 script is used, the players bring it wonderfully to life. Vastly well as Sheridan would have said and very funny.

As far as I know this is the best version available but please comment if you know of a better one.
Another baroque video enhancement here https://youtu.be/UPBGuS7Nqfs , this time from a PAL DVD source.
"Ju Ju Man aka "Falling In Love Again", written by Jim Ford & Lolly Vegas.
From the album "Silver Pistol".
This is a live version for French TV in 1973.
Plus "Wonder Woman" (Allen Toussaint) sung by the mighty Bob Andrews.
Brinsley Ernst Pieter Schwarz (born 25 March 1947, Woodbridge, Suffolk) is an English guitarist and rock musician. His family's roots are German. He formed a band named Kippington Lodge in 1965, which evolved into the band Brinsley Schwarz. After the band's demise in 1974, Schwarz briefly joined Ducks Deluxe before forming The Rumour and going on to achieve success with Graham Parker as Graham Parker and the Rumour. He continued to record and tour with Parker following the splitting up of The Rumour in 1980, notably contributing to Parker's The Mona Lisa's Sister album (1988).
Schwarz also played the saxophone on the band's albums from 1972 onwards and on Dr. Feelgood's 1974 debut album, Down by the Jetty, on the live recording of the medley track, "Bonie Maronie" / "Tequila".

Archive release from the pub rock band featuring Nick Lowe, Ian Gomm, Billy Rankin and future Rumour members Brinsley Schwarz and Bob Andrews. Brinsley Schwarz released a string of classic pub rock albums in the early 1970s, and this could be their best. It's All Over Now was intended to re-launch the group in America, but like their much-hyped visit to New York, it didn't go as planned. Indeed, the album languished in Rockfield Studios tape library for years until rescued by the band's guitarist Ian Gomm, who mixed it at Royal Studios for release on record. But even that didn't go as planned and once again the album disappeared. A few years ago, Gomm made a few homemade CDRs available from his website, but the album has remained largely ignored. Until now. Twenty-five years after Ian Gomm rescued and mixed the album, Mega Dodo is set to release a newly mastered version. The best Brinsley Schwarz album you have never heard now sounds even better.
Brinsley Ernst Pieter Schwarz is an English guitarist most recognized for his work with the band taking his namesake “Brinsley Schwarz”. Brinsley has also played piano, organ and provided vocals from time to time throughout his career. Beginning as pop band Kippington Lodge in 1965, the band morphed into the pub rock unit Brinsley Schwarz and from 1969 to 1975 released 6 albums. In the years following the breakup, there have been several compilations released. Brinsley joined Ducks Deluxe for a brief time, then helped form The Rumour, the band that went on to success backing Graham Parker. Mr. Schwarz continued his affiliation with Graham Parker, recording and playing live, including a 2016 tour. And there are 2 solo albums to date, 2016’s Unexpected and 2021’s Tangled.
