The 2004 AFL draft, concerning player acquisitions in the 2004/05 Australian Football League off-season, consisted of a trade period, a national draft, a pre-season draft, and the elevation of rookies. The AFL draft is the annual draft of talented players by Australian rules football teams that participate in the main competition of that sport, the Australian Football League.
In 2004 there were 78 picks to be drafted between 16 teams in the national draft. Richmond received the first pick in the national draft after finishing on the bottom of the ladder during the 2004 AFL season. Three teams were allocated priority draft picks for winning 5 or less games in the previous season, Richmond, Hawthorn and Western Bulldogs.Carlton's two-year ban from the first and second rounds of the AFL draft expired in 2004 and they returned to the early part of the draft, with selections 9 and 25. As it had traded away its first and second round draft picks in 2001, effectively the Blues' first and second round draft picks were its first since 2000. They finished the 2004 season 11th with 10 wins and 12 losses, too high to be eligible for a priority draft pick. The Sydney Swans were banned from the first round of the draft following a breach of the salary cap during the 2004 season.
It was the first AFL video game. The game involves playing a game of Australian rules football from a third-person perspective, with the ability to perform the basic actions of a typical player of the sport. The game can be played by one person, or by two players against each other. There is also a kick to kick mode, and a season mode where one to six players can play multiple games in a season finishing with a grand final. It was developed by Beam Software, and was published by Mattel.
It was released for Windows PC only on 9 June 1996. You could play as one of the 16 clubs of the 1996 AFL season. It was also the last video game in the series to feature the Fitzroy Lions and the Brisbane Bears as playable teams before they were merged. The game was also the first game to be developed by Blue Tongue Entertainment and was published by Cadability.
The 2006 Australian Football League season was the 110th season of the elite Australian rules football competition.
West Coast defeated defending premiers Sydney in the Grand Final to win their third premiership, in what was the first Grand Final since 1966 to be decided by one point.
In engineering, draft is the amount of taper for molded or cast parts perpendicular to the parting line. It can be measured in degrees or mm/mm (in/in).
Consider the fabrication of a hollow plastic box, without lid. Once the plastic has hardened around the mold, the mold must be removed. As the plastic hardens, it may contract slightly. By tapering the sides of the mold by an appropriate "draft angle", the mold will be easier to remove.
If the mold is to be removed from the top, the box should taper in towards the bottom, such that measuring the bottom internal dimension will yield a smaller length and width than measuring the top from which the mold is extracted.
By specifying the opening length and width, a draft angle, and a depth, it is not necessary to specify the dimensions for the internal surface, as these may be calculated from the above.
The manufacture of a part that incorporates zero or negative angles may require a mold that can be separated into two or more parts, in order to release the casting.
In nautical parlance, the draft or draught of a sail is a degree of curvature in a horizontal cross-section. Any sail experiences a force from the prevailing wind just because it impedes the air's passage. A sail with draft also functions as an airfoil when set at an angle slightly greater than the angle of the wind, producing lift which then propels.
The word "belly" is also used in reference to the draft of a sail (i.e. "More belly in the main sail.").

AFL 2006 Grand Final - Sydney v West Coast
In a sequel that was just as good as the original (thanks Huddo) West Coast won their third premiership and avenged the previous year's heartbreaking loss to Sydney. The Eagles had the better of Sydney in the first half, building up a solid 25 point lead by halftime. More than half that buffer had been erased by the final change, and when Adam Goodes goaled within seconds of the start of the fourth term it was game on. The Swans scrapped their way within a point but never drew level thanks to some moments of brilliance by the Eagles' charges, including Daniel Chick's memorable smother-handball-shepherd and some big defensive marks by Andrew Embley. Sydney kicked the final goal to get within a point and were pushing into attack when the final siren sounded, with the ball being thrown in clo...

2006 AFL Teamcoach: The Classic Collection
Back in 2006 I collected to Team Coach cards. Like now I enjoyed the common, silver and gold cards and this is the reason why i still collect them. The set was smaller with 150 cards compared to 198 in this years set. The gold cards were tough to find at a rate of 1 in 4 packs! Their was no inserts sets like Pointer, Flix, Sticker and but just the Magic Wild Cards. The Magic's were tough to get inserted 1 in every 72 packs (2 boxes)! I wasnt working back then and was difficult to save the money and it was harder to people to trade with as youtube and FB wasnt a way to meet other collectors. I didnt play online but I do believe they issued prize cards. Team Coach also released a Tin which came with a silver or if you were lucky enough the rare Gold card of a B&F, the tin also held around 20...

You'll laugh, You'll cry, You'll be left shaking your head in disgust at times and you'll be applauding at other times. It's what The Footy Show was. It could be brilliant but it could also be shocking television. There were highs and there were lows (a lot of them containing the ever controversial Sam Newman).
But that's what the show was. It was an important show in the history of Sports Television in Australia and that's why it's been uploaded here for posterity. There are a lot of things that the show did that I personally don't agree with and deserve the criticism they get (Ex: The Blackface Incident is frankly unforgivable. It was wrong then and it's wrong now.). but there are a lot of great moments from the show that allowed us to see the players of the AFL in a new light and allowed them to come out of their shells and that in fact was a massive positive for the sport and media landscape as a whole.
It's The Footy Show: What A Big 12 Years in Football and it perhaps gives the best look at what the show was like.
