Red Bank is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1908 and located on the Navesink River, the area's original transportation route to the ocean and other ports. Red Bank is located on the southern bank of the Navesink River, in northern Monmouth County, New Jersey. It is about 24 miles (39 km) due south of the tip of Manhattan and about 25 nautical miles (46 km) to the tip of Manhattan if traveling by water along the Navesink River and through Raritan Bay.

Camera shows brazen thieves steal car from Red Bank gas station | News 12
Video has been released showing a brazen vehicle theft that occurred at a Red Bank gas station around 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 10. According to the surveillance video taken from the Shell station at the corner of Shrewsbury Avenue and Newman Springs Road, the suspect exits a white BMW X5 with Pennsylvania plates and begins crawling out of sight of the attendant and driver of the black car he is about to steal. As the driver pays the attendant, the suspect makes his move, getting into the driver's side door. The victim first confronts the suspect, but then quickly backs off when the suspect puts the vehicle into drive. Incorporated in 1908, the community is on the Navesink River, the area's original transportation route to the ocean and other ports. Red Bank is in the New York metropolitan area and is a commuter town of New York City. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 12,936, an increase of 730 (+6.0%) from the 2010 census count of 12,206, which in turn reflected an increase of 362 (+3.1%) from the 11,844 counted in the 2000 census. In the 2020 census, Red Bank was the fourth-most densely populated municipality in Monmouth County.
Red Bank was formed as a town on March 17, 1870, from parts of Shrewsbury Township. On February 14, 1879, Red Bank became Shrewsbury City, part of Shrewsbury Township; this lasted until May 15, 1879, when Red Bank regained its independence. On March 10, 1908, Red Bank was formed as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature and was set off from Shrewsbury Township. The borough was named for the red soil along the Navesink River.
Downtown Red Bank is notable for its many local and well-known businesses including Garmany, Urban Outfitters, and Tiffany & Co. on and around Broad Street. As the driver pays the attendant, the suspect makes his move, getting into the driver's side door. The victim first confronts the suspect, but then quickly backs off when the suspect puts the vehicle into drive. Both the BMW and the stolen car take off and head west on Newman Springs Road toward the Garden State Parkway. The entire incident happened in less than 30 seconds. The Red Bank police chief says the victim was concerned the suspect had a weapon, which is why he backed off so quickly. Red Bank police are asking anyone who witnessed the theft to give them a call.
