Karate was an American band, formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1993 by Geoff Farina, Eamonn Vitt and Gavin McCarthy. In 1995, Jeff Goddard joined the band as bass player, and Vitt moved to second guitar. Vitt departed Karate to pursue a medical career in 1997.
The band was characterised by their love for improvised music and classic rock and their adherence to the DIY punk ethos of their youth, which made them difficult to classify, being a strange fusion of indie rock, punk, blues, jazz and post-rock.
Farina developed hearing problems due to twelve years of performance with Karate and was forced to disband the group in July 2005, quietly closing the door on a 12-year run that included 6 studio albums and almost 700 performances in 20 countries. Their final show was played in Rome, Italy, on July 10, 2005. Their music was primarily released on Southern Records.
Karate’s perfectionism and attention to detail is well known among the music scene. Their compulsive behaviour manifested also in naming their last recording, which was originally called “594” since it was believed to be a recording of their 594th show. When Gavin discovered a flyer for a forgotten early show that had somehow evaded Jeff’s memory, the band quickly changed the title to ‘595’. Finally, In 2007, the former band members decided to release the live album 595. Often, Karate was sent live material from their own performances (often from sound technicians). This happened also after their performance on May 5 at Stuk, Leuven, Belgium. Karate was so astonished by the quality of the recording they decided to release this "posthumous" live album of their 595th live performance.
Karate is a video game for the Atari 2600 produced by Ultravision and released by that company and later by Froggo. Designed by black belt Joseph Amelio, the game was released in late 1982 for NTSC systems. The Froggo release is more widely available and better known, so many sources miscredit Karate as an original Froggo title. This is even one of the earliest fighting games to earn a re-release, which became common to Capcom and SNK ones. Karate is widely considered to be one of the worst Atari 2600 games of all time.
Spiegelman has often described the reasoning and process that led Mouly to start the magazine: after the demise of Arcade, the '70s underground comics anthology he co-edited with Bill Griffith, and the general waning of the underground scene, Spiegelman was despairing that comics for adults might fade away for good, but he had sworn not to work on another magazine where he would be editing his peers because of the tension and jealousies involved; however, Mouly had her own reasons for wanting to do just that. Having set up her small publishing company, Raw Books & Graphics, in 1977, she saw a magazine encompassing the range of her graphic and literary interests as a more attractive prospect than publishing a series of books. At the time, large-format, graphic punk and New Wave design magazines like Wet were distributed in independent bookstores. Mouly had earlier installed a printing press in their fourth floor walk-up Soho loft and experimented with different bindings and printing techniques. She and Spiegelman eventually settled on a very bold, large-scale and upscale package. Calling Raw a "graphix magazine", they hoped their unprecedented approach would bypass readers' prejudices against comics and force them to look at the work with new eyes.
Raw is the second studio album by American hip hop recording artist Hopsin. The album was released on November 19, 2010, by Funk Volume. On the song 'Sag My Pants' Hopsin disses mainstream rappers Drake, Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, and Lupe Fiasco. He also disses the widowed wife of Eazy-E, Tomica Wright, vowing that he'll 'make sure no one signs with Ruthless Records again. Despite the release of the previous album, Gazing at the Moonlight, Hopsin considers Raw as his debut album. Upon release it peaked at number 46 on the BillboardHeatseekers Albums chart.
Raw is a 2006 live album by rock band Ra. Songs are taken from their former albums From One, and Duality. "Don't Turn Away" is a newly recorded track and is also included in their 2008 album Black Sun.
Vocalist Sahaj Ticotin broke the record for the longest single note for a male vocalist in a song, having held a high B for 24 seconds during "Skorn". Sahaj overtook the previous record of 20.2 seconds which was held by Morten Harket in his song "Summer Moved On". Ra released an e-card on September 12, 2006, where the song "Don't Turn Away" could be streamed. The entire album of Raw can be downloaded for free on Ra's website.
The talent (Latin:talentum, from Ancient Greek: τάλαντον, talanton 'scale, balance, sum') was one of several ancient units of mass, a commercial weight, as well as corresponding units of value equivalent to these masses of a precious metal. The talent of gold was known to Homer, who described how Achilles gave a half-talent of gold to Antilochus as a prize. It was approximately the mass of water required to fill an amphora. A Greek, or Attic talent, was 26 kilograms (57lb), a Roman talent was 32.3 kilograms (71lb), an Egyptian talent was 27 kilograms (60lb), and a Babylonian talent was 30.3 kilograms (67lb).Ancient Israel, and other Levantine countries, adopted the Babylonian talent, but later revised the mass. The heavy common talent, used in New Testament times, was 58.9 kilograms (130lb).
An Attic talent of silver was the value of nine man-years of skilled work. During the Peloponnesian War, an Attic talent was the amount of silver that would pay a month's wages of a trireme crew of 200 men.Hellenisticmercenaries were commonly paid one drachma per day of military service. There were 6,000 drachmae in an Attic talent.
Karate - The Bed Is In The Ocean (1998) † [full album]
Karate was good for you. You mastered every belt and were allowed to wear robes and sunglasses indoors. One day you tried to take things to the "next level", turning up in purple clogs. You quickly became the talk of the dojo. Rumours swirled. And, well, it was downhill from there, really, dude.
This was Karate's third full-length record, and came out on Southern Records. It's out of print now but Southern are still re-pressing old records and only last year put out Karate's Operation: Sand 7'' for the second time. Definitely worth it! -

This competition called "Yakusoku-Kumite" or "Gohon-Kumite".
Yakusoku-kumite is the competition which young (about 3age-7age) karate player or starter plays and Yakusoku means Promise.
Also 2020 Tokyo Olympic games have Karate competition. I hope a lot of people who live in all over the world will enjoy Karate. thank you.
