Radiotopia is a podcast network run by Public Radio Exchange incorporating 13 podcast shows. Podcasts in the network are downloaded over 8.5 million times per month.
History
Radiotopia, founded by Roman Mars, was launched in February 2014 with an initial group of seven shows. Initially supported by $200,000 USD from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the network is run by the Public Radio Exchange (PRX) who described it as "somewhat like an independent record label". In October 2014 a Kickstarter was started to support the growth of the network, raising over $600,000 USD and making it the most-funded radio or podcast project on the site. This money went partly towards including four new shows. In May 2015 the network received a further $1 million USD from the Knight Foundation to add more shows to the network as well as hiring an executive producer. This executive producer would be Julie Shapiro, hired in September 2015.
Around the time of Radiotopia's launch the network's podcasts received around 900,000 downloads per month. This figure had increased to 7.5 million by May 2015 and 8.5 million in September 2015.

When you get older, plainer, saner
Will you remember all the danger
We came from?
Burning like embers, falling, tender
Longing for the days of no surrender
Years ago
And will you know
So smoke 'em if you got 'em
'Cause it's going down
All I ever wanted was you
I'll never get to heaven
'Cause I don't know how
Let's raise a glass or two
To all the things I've lost on you
Oh-oh
Tell me are they lost on you?
Oh-oh
Just that you could cut me loose
Oh-oh
After everything I've lost on you
Is that lost on yo...

The Harrison-Cleveland Rematch Takes A Pause (1892)
It's October 29rd. This day in 1892, Benjamin Harrison and Grover Cleveland are locked in a presidential election rematch, but not out on the campaign trail in the final days of the election.
Jody, Niki, and Kellie discuss how the campaigns both took a pause after Harrison's wife died -- and ask whether we need to do all this campaigning anyway.
