Querétaro Fútbol Club, also called Gallos Blancos de Querétaro, is a Mexican professional football club based in the city of Querétaro City, Mexico. Querétaro plays in the Liga MX, the top level of the Mexican football league system. Their colors are blue, black and white and the team mascot is a rooster. They were to have been relegated to the Liga de Ascenso in 2013, but Chiapas F.C. was relocated to Querétaro.
History
Foundation
In 1949, the Mexican Soccer Federation proposed the idea of creating a "Segunda División" to expand interest in the game and to create a development program for the first division. Querétaro was one of the cities that received an invitation to participate. Alfonso "pachín" Niembro, then president of the Asociación Queretana de Fútbol, and Raúl Ayala, who represented Querétaro at the national level, with help from large numbers of locally based amateurs, decided to organize a tournament, the winner of which would represent the city of Querétaro in the new division. The tournament was won by a team named "Los Piratas", who became "Club Querétaro A.C." They joined Irapuato, Zacatepec, Toluca, Morelia and La Piedad as the founders of the Segunda División.
Querétaro (Spanish pronunciation:[keˈɾetaɾo]), officially Free and Sovereign State of Querétaro (Spanish:Estado Libre y Soberano de Querétaro), is one of 31 states that, with the Federal District, compose the 32 Federal Entities of Mexico. It is divided into 18 municipalities. Its capital city is Santiago de Querétaro.
The state is one of the smallest in Mexico, but it is also one of the most heterogeneous geographically, with ecosystems varying from deserts to tropical rainforest, especially in the Sierra Gorda, which is filled with microecosystems. The area of the state was located on the northern edge of Mesoamerica, with both the Purépecha Empire and Aztec Empire having influence in the extreme south, but neither really dominated it. The area, especially the Sierra Gorda, had a number of small city-states, but by the time the Spanish arrived, these had all been abandoned, with only small agricultural villages and seminomadic peoples inhabiting the area. Spanish conquest was focused on the establishment of the Santiago de Querétaro, which still dominates the state culturally, economically and educationally.
Santiago de Querétaro (Spanish pronunciation:[sanˈtjaɣo ðe keˈɾetaɾo]) is the capital and largest city of the state of Querétaro, located in central Mexico. It is part of the macroregion of Bajío. It is located 213 kilometers (132mi) northwest of Mexico City, 63 kilometers (39mi) southeast of San Miguel de Allende and 200 kilometers (120mi) south of San Luis Potosí. The city of Querétaro is divided into seven boroughs: Josefa Vergara y Hernández, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Centro Histórico, Cayetano Rubio, Santa Rosa Jáuregui, Félix Osores Sotomayor and Epigmenio González. In 1996, the historic center of Querétaro was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Querétaro has repeatedly been recognized as the metro area with the best quality of life and as the safest city in Mexico and also as the most dynamic in Latin America. It is a strong business and economic centre and a vigorous service city that is experiencing an ongoing social and economic revitalization.
Querétaro has seen an outstanding industrial and economic development since the mid 1990s. Querétaro metropolitan area has the 2nd highest GDP per capita among Mexico's metropolitan areas with 20,000 USD after Monterrey. The city is the fastest-growing in the country, basing its economy to IT and data centers, logistics services, aircraft manufacturing and maintenance, call centers and manufacturing center for automotive and machinery industry, chemicals and food products. The region of Querétaro has a rapidily growing vineyards agriculture and it hosts the famous wine producer from Spain: Freixenet, the wine production in Querétaro is now the second largest in Mexico after the Baja California region.

Wages are some of the highest paid in all of Mexico. The weather is pleasant almost every day of the year, and there's a lot of sunlight and lush green hills. The cost of living is a fraction of a similar city in the U.S. or Canada, with 2-bedroom rentals starting at $500 USD/month ($9k MXN).
And Queretaro is centrally located in Mexico, which makes exploring the rest of the country a lot easier.
In this video, we share rental costs, grocery costs, and utility costs. We also give you some of the top neighborhoods to live in and how to get around this amazing city.

If you're considering living abroad, Mexico might be a good place to start. But for Americans considering moving to Mexico, the next questions are often: Is Mexico safe? What are the best places to live in Mexico?
In terms of overall quality of life in Mexico, Queretaro often ranks as one of the most livable cities. However, it comes at a price. Although it is significantly more affordable than most places in the USA, it is considered a relatively expensive city by Mexico standards.
With that said, you'll still probably think Queretaro is very affordable if you're moving from anywhere in the USA or Canada.

When many people think about visiting or moving to Mexico, their focus is exclusively on the country's beaches. That's a mistake, because the central highlands present a perfect place to experience the food, culture and history of Mexico. Querétaro is a city of just over a million people and despite its size, is beautiful and charming. In this video, check out some of the main things to see and do when visiting Querétaro.

Having retired in 2023, I now travel full-time, seeing places all around the world. My idea for YouTube is to make the videos more about the places and people along the way, than about me. I hope that the experience for you is both entertaining and educational. Perhaps you will come away from my channel with ideas about places you would like to visit or be inspired to forge your own way.
I travel slowly, spending four or five weeks in each destination. Hopefully, that will allow me to go beyond the surface to find the essence of each location. By the end of 2024, I will have visited 14 countries and five of the seven continents. Come along for the journey!

This region is gaining recognition for its vineyards producing exquisite Mexican wines. Picture yourself in a picturesque vineyard, surrounded by rolling hills, as you sample some of the finest wines the region has to offer.
"At number 2, we're immersing ourselves in the vibrant culture of Querétaro by attending a traditional Jarabe Tapatío dance performance. #queretaro is one of the most desired places to live in Mexico.
It's one of my favorite places in Mexico. If I wasn't in CDMX, I would move to Queretaro in a heartbeat.
