Queens is the easternmost and largest in area of the five boroughs of New York City, geographically adjacent to the borough of Brooklyn at the western end of Long Island. Coterminous with Queens County since 1899, the borough of Queens is the second-largest in population (behind Brooklyn), with a census-estimated 2,321,580 residents in 2014, approximately 48% of them foreign-born. Queens County is also the second-most populous county in New York, behind the neighboring borough of Brooklyn, which is coterminous with Kings County. Queens is the fourth-most densely populated county among New York City's boroughs, as well as in the United States. If each New York City borough were an independent city, Queens would also be the nation's fourth most populous city, after Los Angeles, Chicago and Brooklyn. Queens is the most ethnically diverse urban area in the world.
The electoral district was abolished following the 2012 electoral boundary review and was largely replaced by the new electoral district of Queens-Shelburne.
The Queen's Favourite Cocktail was Dubonnet Cocktail made with Dubonnet and Gin.
This cocktail is the perfect blend of sweet, acidic, and bitter. The Queen preferred Gordon's London Dry Gin. Dubonnet is a French aperitif. Toast the amazing life she lived.

Bartender and bar-owner Laura Newman uses rum, lime, sugar and mint to make the Queen's Park Swizzle, one of her favorite classic cocktails. It was created at the Queen’s Park Hotel, which is this grand old hotel with an eastern European style that was built in Trinidad in the 1800s.

On this episode of How to Drink, I’m taking a look at making a Queen’s Park Swizzle. This is a drink invented at the Queen’s Park Hotel in Port au Spain Trinidad around the 1920’s. That sets this drink a bit earlier than the American Tiki Fad got underway, but it’s earned it’s place in the pantheon nonetheless. Referred to by Trader Vic as “the most delightful form of anesthesia given out today” it’s a refreshing and delicious drink you’d be certain to enjoy on any hot summer day. Cheers!
Queen's Park Swizzle Ingredients:
- .5 oz or 14 ml Lime Juice
- .5 oz or 14 ml Demerara Syrup
- 2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
- 2 oz or 60 ml Blended Black Rum
- Swizzle over Crushed Ice
- Garnish with Sprig of Mint & Grenadine
