Quad City Times BIX 7 (48th Anniversary - 2022)
My first time running the BIX 7 road race in downtown Davenport, IA on July 30th, 2022 was a great success! I targeted a sub 1-hr race time and I handily met my goal with a chip time of 53:35. Brady Street hill wasn't too bad at all, except I was trying to weave through the slower people to keep my pace up. I used the Pace Pro feature on my Garmin Epix, which was VERY handy because I set a goal time of 58 minutes with a negative split (using elevation as the split factor). In this way, the watch told me the pace I should go in each section to meet my time, and I made sure I was always a bit faster than that. Overall, this was a FUN race with a lot of people, sights, and sounds along the way.
