A planned community, or planned city, is any community that was carefully planned from its inception and is typically constructed in a previously undeveloped area. This contrasts with settlements that evolve in a more ad hoc fashion. Land use conflicts are less frequent in planned communities since they are planned carefully. The term new town refers to planned communities of the new towns movement in particular, mainly in the United Kingdom. It was also common in the European colonization of the Americas to build according to a plan either on fresh ground or on the ruins of earlier Amerindian cities.

You've probably heard of Master Planned Communities, but what exactly are they? In this video I'll be talking about my experience with Master Planned Communities in Austin, Texas. I'll lay out the pro's and the con's, talk about what separates them from typical neighborhoods and explain why I don't think they are for everybody.

🤔🤔I have encountered this question many times since I started my real estate career over 6 years ago. Homebuyers sometimes confused a subdivision with a master-planned community. Just because your neighborhood has its own 🏊swimming pool 🏊🤹 playground 🤹 and 🚶 walking trails 🚶does not mean it as a master-planned community. Being near to 🏬shopping centers 🏬does not make your neighborhood a master-planned community. 🤔🤔

Geothermal Energy meets Master Planned Communities : A blueprint for the future?
Geothermal Energy has the potential to accelerate our move towards a more sustainable energy future. The technology is most effective when used at scale. Now a major housing development in Austin, Texas is installing five miles of geothermal pipework to serve a Master Planned Community that will comprise 7500 homes and 30,000 residents. And the best thing is - all the infrastructure is already in place before the housing developer lays a single foundation. Could this be a blueprint for the great suburban build out?

They have soccer fields, baseball fields, tennis courts, volleyball courts, amazing pools, which are great for the kids, and that's what these communities are all about, is that family lifestyle. But today, I get to call this master-planned community all mine.

So instead of spending your weekends working on your old fixer-upper or pulling weeds in your yard, you're with your family at the community pool, at the community center, really enjoying that lifestyle of a master-planned community.

Geothermal Energy has the potential to accelerate our move towards a more sustainable energy future. The technology is most effective when used at scale. Now a major housing development in Austin, Texas is installing five miles of geothermal pipework to serve a Master Planned Community that will comprise 7500 homes and 30,000 residents. And the best thing is - all the infrastructure is already in place before the housing developer lays a single foundation. Could this be a blueprint for the great suburban build out?

A planned community, or planned city, is any community that was carefully planned from its inception and is typically constructed in a previously undeveloped area. This contrasts with settlements that evolve in a more ad hoc fashion. Land use conflicts are less frequent in planned communities since they are planned carefully. The term new town refers to planned communities of the new towns movement in particular, mainly in the United Kingdom. It was also common in the European colonization of the Americas to build according to a plan either on fresh ground or on the ruins of earlier Amerindian cities.
