Pitch (resin)
Pitch is a name for any of a number of viscoelastic, solid polymers. Pitch can be natural or manufactured, derived from petroleum, coal tar or plants. Various forms of pitch may also be called tar, bitumen or asphalt. Pitch produced from plants is also known as resin. Some products made from plant resin are also known as rosin.

Viscoelastic properties
Naturally occurring asphalt/bitumen, a type of pitch, is a viscoelastic polymer. This means that even though it seems to be solid at room temperature and can be shattered with a hard impact, it is actually fluid and will flow over time, but extremely slowly. The pitch drop experiment taking place at University of Queensland is a long-term experiment which demonstrates the flow of a piece of pitch over many years. For the experiment, pitch was put in a glass funnel and allowed to slowly drip out. Since the pitch was allowed to start dripping in 1930, only nine drops have fallen. It was calculated in the 1980s that the pitch in the experiment has a viscosity approximately 230 billion (2.3×1011) times that of water. The eighth drop fell on 28 November 2000, and the ninth drop fell on 17 April 2014. Another experiment was begun by a colleague of Nobel Prize winner Ernest Walton in the physics department of Trinity College in Ireland in 1944. Over the years, the pitch had produced several drops, but none had been recorded. On Thursday, July 11, 2013 scientists at Trinity College caught pitch dripping from a funnel on camera for the first time.

Pitch (baseball)
In baseball, a pitch is the act of throwing a baseball toward home plate to start a play. The term comes from the Knickerbocker Rules. Originally, the ball had to be literally "pitched" underhand, as with pitching horseshoes. Overhand throwing was not allowed until 1884.
The biomechanics of pitching have been studied extensively. The phases of throwing include windup, early cocking, late cocking, early acceleration, late acceleration, deceleration, and follow-through.
Pitchers throw a variety of pitches, each of which has a slightly different velocity, trajectory, movement, hand position, wrist position and/or arm angle. These variations are introduced to confuse the batter in various ways, and ultimately aid the defensive team in getting the batter or baserunners out. To obtain variety, and therefore enhance defensive baseball strategy, the pitcher manipulates the grip on the ball at the point of release. Variations in the grip cause the seams to "catch" the air differently, thereby changing the trajectory of the ball, making it harder for the batter to hit.

Flight dynamics
Flight dynamics is the study of the performance, stability, and control of vehicles flying through the air or in outer space. It is concerned with how forces acting on the vehicle influence its speed and attitude with respect to time.
In fixed-wing aircraft, the changing orientation of the vehicle with respect to the local air flow is represented by two critical parameters, angle of attack ("alpha") and angle of sideslip ("beta"). These angles describe the vector direction of airspeed, important because it is the principal source of modulations in the aerodynamic forces and moments applied to the aircraft.
Spacecraft flight dynamics involve three forces: propulsive (rocket engine), gravitational, and lift and drag (when traveling through the earths or any other celestial atmosphere). Because aerodynamic forces involved with spacecraft flight are very small, this leaves gravity as the dominant force.
Aircraft and spacecraft share a critical interest in their orientation with respect to the earth horizon and heading, and this is represented by another set of angles, "yaw," "pitch" and "roll" which angles match their colloquial meaning, but also have formal definition as an Euler sequence. These angles are the product of the rotational equations of motion, where orientation responds to torque, just as the velocity of a vehicle responds to forces. For all flight vehicles, these two sets of dynamics, rotational and translational, operate simultaneously and in a coupled fashion to evolve the vehicle's state (orientation and velocity) trajectory.

This model is very unique to my collection of model cars because it is one of two GT Spirit models I own. This car is sealed resin, so it does not have any opening parts unfortunately, however GT Spirit really did a great job with how much detail they put into this model car. It is actually heavy, considering it is resin. The windows are therefore not hard plastic and can bend. This trim model comes in two different color options, which include Pitch Black and Torch Red. GT Spirit does offer the wide body version of the latest gen (2020) Dodge Charger and in different colors only, but I decided from personal taste that I would like this more, and I am happy with the decision I made. I did find that the passenger headlight had some visible glue inside the plastic, and there was a water spo...

This model is very unique to my collection of model cars because it is one of two GT Spirit models I own. This car is sealed resin, so it does not have any opening parts unfortunately, however GT Spirit really did a great job with how much detail they put into this model car. It is actually heavy, considering it is resin. The windows are therefore not hard plastic and can bend. This trim model comes in two different color options, which include Pitch Black and Torch Red. GT Spirit does offer the wide body version of the latest gen (2020) Dodge Charger and in different colors only, but I decided from personal taste that I would like this more, and I am happy with the decision I made. I did find that the passenger headlight had some visible glue inside the plastic, and there was a water spot (maybe?) on the passenger side B Pillar, but used an eraser to remove it because it wouldn't wipe off easily. This paint job is spectacular and flawless! The front grill is very realistic as it is see through. I do like the rims on this model and fit it well. Maintenance for this model is a little higher than most of my models because it has a black paint job on it, so if you have room to, I would keep it in a glass display case holder so it doesn't collect dust. I also found that the parts on it like the rear view mirrors are very (emphasis on very) fragile and I actually glued them back on because I didn't want them to fall off. This is a limited-production model, and I have model 202/999. I did spent $150 (not including tax and shipping) on eBay for this model, so to each its own with spending more money on a resin car, but it was worth it.

The heating (dry distilling) of wood causes tar and pitch to drip away from the wood and leave behind charcoal. Birchbark is used to make birch-tar, a particularly fine tar. The terms tar and pitch are often used interchangeably. However, pitch is considered more solid, while tar is more liquid. Traditionally, pitch that was used for waterproofing buckets, barrels and small boats was drawn from pine. It is used to make Cutler's resin.
Cutler's resin is a synthetic resin made of pine pitch, beeswax, and sawdust or carnauba wax used for centuries (to today) to attach knife handles. It is used as both an adhesive and for waterproofing. The word cutler means "one who makes knives". Hence the word 'cutlery'.
The pitch drop experiment taking place at University of Queensland is a long-term experiment which demonstrates the flow of a piece of pitch over many years. For the experiment, pitch was put in a glass funnel and allowed to slowly drip out. Since the pitch was allowed to start dripping in 1930, only nine drops have fallen. It was calculated in the 1980s that the pitch in the experiment has a viscosity approximately 230 billion (2.3×10^11) times that of water.

This model is very unique to my collection of model cars because it is one of two GT Spirit models I own. This car is sealed resin, so it does not have any opening parts unfortunately, however GT Spirit really did a great job with how much detail they put into this model car. It is actually heavy, considering it is resin. The windows are therefore not hard plastic and can bend. This trim model comes in two different color options, which include Pitch Black and Torch Red. GT Spirit does offer the wide body version of the latest gen (2020) Dodge Charger and in different colors only, but I decided from personal taste that I would like this more, and I am happy with the decision I made. I did find that the passenger headlight had some visible glue inside the plastic, and there was a water spot (maybe?) on the passenger side B Pillar, but used an eraser to remove it because it wouldn't wipe off easily. This paint job is spectacular and flawless! The front grill is very realistic as it is see through. I do like the rims on this model and fit it well. Maintenance for this model is a little higher than most of my models because it has a black paint job on it, so if you have room to, I would keep it in a glass display case holder so it doesn't collect dust. I also found that the parts on it like the rear view mirrors are very (emphasis on very) fragile and I actually glued them back on because I didn't want them to fall off. This is a limited-production model, and I have model 202/999. Viscoelastic properties
Naturally occurring asphalt/bitumen, a type of pitch, is a viscoelastic polymer. This means that even though it seems to be solid at room temperature and can be shattered with a hard impact, it is actually fluid and will flow over time, but extremely slowly. The pitch drop experiment taking place at University of Queensland is a long-term experiment which demonstrates the flow of a piece of pitch over many years. For the experiment, pitch was put in a glass funnel and allowed to slowly drip out. Since the pitch was allowed to start dripping in 1930, only nine drops have fallen. The eighth drop fell on 28 November 2000, and the ninth drop fell on 17 April 2014. Another experiment was begun by a colleague of Nobel Prize winner Ernest Walton in the physics department of Trinity College in Ireland in 1944. Over the years, the pitch had produced several drops, but none had been recorded. On Thursday, July 11, 2013 scientists at Trinity College caught pitch dripping from a funnel on camera for the first time.
