Peter, Paul and Mary - Blowing in the Wind
Blowin' or Blowing in the Wind info:
"Blowin' in the Wind" is a song written by Bob Dylan in 1962 and released on his album The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan in 1963. Although it has been described as a protest song, it poses a series of rhetorical questions about peace, war and freedom. The refrain "The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind" has been described[by whom?] as "impenetrably ambiguous: either the answer is so obvious it is right in your face, or the answer is as intangible as the wind".
In 1999, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 2004, it was ranked #14 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time".

Blowing In The Wind (lyric video): A Scarf Song For Kids by Stephanie Leavell | Music For Kiddos
Blowing In The Wind is a very catchy scarf song for creative movement with a minor-y feel and one of those you can learn in about 60 seconds and do acapella. (My daughter helped me write it, and she says it's even fun if you're 8! Especially the "woosh and plop" part).

Blowin' In The Wind / Gayatri Mantra (Bob Dylan cover with Hindu / Buddhist prayer) by eternal sea
This is the one people tend to come up to talk about at the end of our gigs, with some saying it messed with their minds a bit at first :). I can't remember when I started singing 'Blowin' In The Wind' to the tune of 'Knocking On Heavens Door' but know that right from the very start I realised it needed a chorus so added one. June used to listen to Satnam Kaur's version of ' The Gayatri Mantra' every morning and each time I heard it it reminded me of a slowed down 'Knockin On Heaven's Door' so it was an easy choice when looking for a Mantra to add to our version of 'Blowin' In The Wind.'
Bob Dylan wrote 'Blowin In The Wind' in 1962 and included it on 'The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan' album in 1963.
The 'Gayatri Mantra,' which was written in Sanskrit somewhere between 2500 and 3500 years ago, i...

Blowing in the wind
Όταν έγραψε το «Blowing in the wind», ο Μπομπ Ντύλαν ήταν μόνο 21 ετών.

Lyrics:
How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind
Yes, 'n' how many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind
Yes, 'n' how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind

-----------------------------------
Peter, Paul and Mary:
Peter, Paul and Mary were an American folk-singing trio whose nearly 50-year career began with their rise to become a paradigm for 1960s folk music. The trio was composed of Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey and Mary Travers. After the death of Mary Travers in 2009, Yarrow and Stookey continued to perform as a duo under their individual names.
Mary Travers has said she was influenced by Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and the Weavers. In the documentary Peter, Paul & Mary: Carry It On — A Musical Legacy members of the Weavers discuss how Peter, Paul and Mary took over the torch of the social commentary of folk music in the 1960s.

The 'Gayatri Mantra,' which was written in Sanskrit somewhere between 2500 and 3500 years ago, is recited by both Buddhists and Hindus and believed to bestow wisdom and enlightenment through the vehicle of the sun who represents the source and inspiration of the universe.
I must give a nod in the direction of the 'One Song To The Tune Of Another' segment of the classic BBC radio comedy, panel show, 'I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue' which made it seem quite natural for me to sing one song to the tune of another. Thanks Humph. (Humphrey Littleton).

Όταν έγραψε το «Blowing in the wind», ο Μπομπ Ντύλαν ήταν μόνο 21 ετών. Ο Peter Yarrow/Peter και ο Noel Stookey/Paul.

Oh, when will they ever learn?

Gone for husbands, everyone
