-Euesperides or Berenice (modern Benghazi)

-Barce (Marj)
The term "Pentapolis" continued to be used as a synonym for Cyrenaica. In the south, the Pentapolis faded into the Saharan tribal areas, including the pharaonic oracle of Ammonium.
The region produced barley, wheat, olive oil, wine, figs, apples, wool, sheep, cattle and silphium, an herb that grew only in Cyrenaica and was regarded as a medicinal cure and aphrodisiac.
Cyrene became one of the greatest intellectual and artistic centers of the Greek world, famous for its medical school, learned academies and architecture, which included some of the finest examples of the Hellenistic style.
The Cyrenaics, a school of thinkers who expounded a doctrine of moral cheerfulness that defined happiness as the sum of human pleasures, were founded by Aristippus of Cyrene.Other notable natives of Cyrene were the poet Callimachus and the mathematicians Theodorus and Eratosthenes
Taucheira (Tocra)

Omar al-Mukhtar - عمر المختار
ʿOmar al-Mukhṭār Muḥammad bin Farḥāṭ al-Manifī ({{lang-ar|عُمَر الْمُخْتَار مُحَمَّد بِن فَرْحَات الْمَنِفِي ; 20 August 1858 – 16 September 1931), called The Lion of the Desert, known among the colonial Italians as Matari of the Mnifa,[4] was the leader of native resistance in Cyrenaica (currently Eastern Libya) under the Senussids, against the Italian colonization of Libya. A teacher-turned-general, Omar was also a prominent figure of the Senussi movement, and he is considered the national hero of Libya and a symbol of resistance in the Arab and Islamic worlds. Beginning in 1911, he organised and, for nearly twenty years, led the Libyan resistance movement against the Italian colonial empire during the Pacification of Libya. After many attempts, the Italian Armed Forces managed to capture Al-Mukhtar near Solonta and hanged him in 1931.
Like all colonial powers, when met with resistance Italy
resorted to the ugliest and worst ways to break the Libyan
Resistance
But from the rubble emerges a Hero, a 53 old man
by the name of Omar Al-Mukhtar
Omar Al Mukhtar would go on to lead the resistance against
The Italian occupation of Libya for 20 years
Omar Al-mukhtar Knew he couldn't defeat the Italian
occupation but he knew that it was a duty for him to
defend his people and Land
With a small number of men he embarrassed the highly
trained and equipped Italian army, he used his knowledge
of the mountains and desert roads
To ambush the Italian troops, cut important supply routes
then disappear into the mountains where the Italian army
couldn't get to them
Before leading The Libyan resistance Omar Al Mukhtar was
a Teacher by profession
Omar Al-Mukhtar memorized the Quran at a young age
and spent his youth studying Islam
By treating Prisoners well, sticking to his Islamic values
and having ethics even during the harshest times
he earned the respect of his friends and enemies alike
After 20 years of fierce resistance and at 73 years of age
Omar Al mukhtar was captured by The Italians
He was offered his freedom on the condition that he tells
his people to stop resisting The Italian Colonization

He refused the offers and said one of his most iconic
Quotes
Omar al-Mukhtar was sentenced to death by Hanging
