Pemberton Hall (Salisbury, Maryland)
Pemberton Hall is a historic home located at Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland, United States. It is a 1 1⁄2-story, three-bay, Flemish bond brick house with a gambrel roof. The construction date of "1741" is scratched in a brick above the side door. One of Isaac Handy's (d. 1763), builder of Pemberton Hall, five sons was George Handy (1756–1820), a charter member of the Society of the Cincinnati. During the American Civil War, the Hall was the home of Allison Parsons, a Southern sympathizer, who insisted on firing a cannon upon the receipt of news of each Confederate victory. In 1868, the Governor of Maryland, Elihu E. Jackson (1837–1907), purchased Pemberton Hall with James Cannon at a trustee's sale. Seth Taylor owned Pemberton Hall from 1931 to 1963, at which time the Pemberton Hall Foundation took it over and restored the house.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Salisbury, Maryland
Salisbury /ˈsɔːlzbəri/ is a city in southeastern Maryland, United States. It is the county seat of Wicomico County and the largest city in the state's Eastern Shore region. The population was 30,343 at the 2010 census. Salisbury is the principal city of the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is the commercial hub of the Delmarva Peninsula and calls itself "the Crossroads of Delmarva".
Salisbury is located near several major cities: Baltimore 106 miles (171 km); Washington, D.C. 119 miles (192 km), Philadelphia 128 miles (206 km), and Wilmington 96 miles (154 km).
History
Salisbury's location at the head of Wicomico River was a major factor in growth. At first it was a small colonial outpost set up by Lord Baltimore. In 1732, Salisbury became an official port, growing to be second only to Baltimore as the most active seaport in Maryland.
The Gillis-Grier House, Honeysuckle Lodge, Sen. William P. Jackson House, Pemberton Hall, Perry-Cooper House, Poplar Hill Mansion, Union Station, and F. Leonard Wailes Law Office are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Harare
Harare (/həˈrɑːreɪ/; officially called Salisbury until 1982) is the capital and most populous city of Zimbabwe. Situated in the north-east of the country in the heart of historic Mashonaland, the city has an estimated population of 1,606,000 (2009), with 2,800,000 in its metropolitan area (2006). Administratively, Harare is a metropolitan province, which also incorporates Chitungwiza town and Epworth. It is situated at an elevation of 1,483 metres (4,865 feet) and its climate falls into the subtropical highland category.
The city was founded in 1890 by the Pioneer Column, a small military force in the service of the British South Africa Company, and named Fort Salisbury after the British Prime Minister Lord Salisbury. Company administrators demarcated the city and ran it until Southern Rhodesia achieved responsible government in 1923. Salisbury was thereafter the seat of the Southern Rhodesian (later Rhodesian) government and, between 1953 and 1963, the capital of the Central African Federation. It retained the name Salisbury until 1982, when it was renamed Harare on the second anniversary of Zimbabwean independence.

Salisbury station (North Carolina)
Salisbury is an Amtrak station located in Salisbury, North Carolina. It is served by three passenger trains: the Crescent, the Carolinian, and the Piedmont. The street address is Depot and Liberty Streets, and is located in the heart of historic downtown Salisbury.
The station was constructed in 1908 by the Southern Railroad and was designed by Frank P. Milburn in the Spanish Mission Style. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, but was nearly demolished until it was bought by the Historic Salisbury Foundation in 1984. Renovations began in 1993 and were completed by 1996, although NCDOT gave the foundation extra funding in 1999 to enlarge the waiting room. It is located in the Salisbury Railroad Corridor Historic District.

Maryland 
i/ˈmɛrᵻlənd/ is a state located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, bordering Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C. to its south and west; Pennsylvania to its north; and Delaware to its east. The state's largest city is Baltimore, and its capital is Annapolis. It has three occasionally used nicknames: the Old Line State, the Free State, and the Chesapeake Bay State.
One of the original Thirteen Colonies, Maryland is considered to be the birthplace of religious freedom in America, when it was formed in the early 17th century as an intended refuge for persecuted Catholics from England by George Calvert. George Calvert was the first Lord Baltimore and the first English proprietor of the then-Maryland colonial grant. Maryland was the seventh state to ratify the United States Constitution.
Maryland is one of the smallest states in terms of area, as well as one of the most densely populated states with nearly 6 million residents. With its close proximity to Washington, D.C., and a highly diversified economy spanning manufacturing, services, and biotechnology, Maryland has the highest median household income of any state.

Maryland (automobile)
The Maryland automobile was built by the Sinclair-Scott Company of Baltimore, Maryland, between 1907 and 1910.
Sinclair-Scott was a maker of food canning machinery and in the early 1900s started to make car parts. One of their customers, Ariel, failed to pay and in recompense Sinclair-Scott took over production, moved the factory to Baltimore, and marketed the car as the Maryland.
The car was powered by a 30 hp four-cylinder, overhead camshaft engine. The Ariel design was initially unchanged, and the Maryland was originally available as a four-seat roadster or a five-seat touring car. The wheelbase was later lengthened from the initial 100 inches (2,500 mm) to 116 inches (2,900 mm). Limousines became available in 1908 and town cars in 1909. Prices ranged from $2500 to $3200.
Production stopped in 1910 after 871 had been made as producing the cars was not profitable. The company returned to the manufacture of food-canning machinery.

Maryland Route 353
Maryland Route 353 (MD 353) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known as Gumboro Road, the state highway runs 4.60 miles (7.40 km) from MD 346 in Pittsville north to the Delaware state line, where the highway intersects Delaware Route 26 (DE 26) and DE-MD 54. MD 353 was constructed in the mid- to late 1920s.
Route description
MD 353 begins at an intersection with MD 346 (Old Ocean City Road) just south of Pittsville. Sixty Foot Road continues south as a county highway to an intersection with U.S. Route 50 (Ocean Gateway). MD 353 heads northeast as a two-lane road through Pittsville. After intersecting Main Street, the highway turns north past scattered residences. After crossing Aydelotte Branch, MD 353 leaves Pittsville, crossing Burnt Mill Branch and passing through farmland all the way to the highway's northern terminus at the Delaware state line. The roadway continues into Delaware as DE 26 and DE 54 (Millsboro Highway). Bethel Road heads east from the intersection at the state line, while DE-MD 54 (Line Road) follows the state line west to Delmar, Maryland, and Delmar, Delaware.

Salisbury is a city in and the county seat of Wicomico County, Maryland, United States, and the largest city in the state's Eastern Shore region. The population was 30,343 at the 2010 census. Salisbury is the principal city of the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is the commercial hub of the Delmarva Peninsula, which was long devoted to agriculture and had a southern culture. It calls itself "The Comfortable Side of Coastal".

Zimbabwe is truly a beautiful country with such amazing people. I would highly recommend coming to see this spectacular part of the world.

Sam Levy Village.
This diverse Shopping Centre and pedestrian Mall consisting of supermarkets, line shops, large and small stores, banks and specialised retail outlets is located in Harare’s northern suburbs.
Known as ‘The Village’, the original concept plan included a pedestrian only Mall, with peripheral external car parking.
Over its more than 30 year life span, it has developed to include restaurants, gyms and cinemas with changing purchaser demands and tenancy requirement.
Stone/Beattie were the original ‘Village’ designers and architects and have provided full services for architectural design; working drawings and schedules; interior design services; co-ordination of civils, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering services; construction contract management for the originally constructed Mall and to it’s numerous tenants and specialist shops for over 30 years.

Samuel Rahamin Levy (1929–2012) was a Zimbabwean businessman and property developer best known for his construction of the Sam Levy's Village shopping mall in Borrowdale, a suburb of Harare, in 1990. A self-made billionaire, at the time of his death he was reputed to be one of the richest people in Zimbabwe.
Levy was born to a Jewish family in Que Que (now Kwekwe) on 9 October 1929, and educated at Prince Edward School in Salisbury (as Harare was called until 1982).
He founded and chaired Macey's Stores Limited, a large supermarket group, in the 1960s. In September 1973 he purchased Duly's car showroom on Angwa Street, Salisbury, for US$1.5 million.
He converted the site into a department store and later a shopping centre, the Ximex Mall, which he sold to the National Social Security Authority (NSSA) in the late 1990s. He successfully stood in the Salisbury council elections in 1975, and served as a councillor for Ward 8, comprising the city's southern district of Waterfalls, until 1979.
Sam Levy's Village was designed in such a way that it has since been dubbed a "Little England". It includes buildings resembling English cottages and a clock tower similar to Big Ben, and originally issued its security guards with uniforms similar to those of British "bobbies". In 2012 Sam Levy was posthumously honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Victor Night Awards and Empretec recognised him as one of the Most Influential Entrepreneurs in post-independent Zimbabwe.
“He loved passionately and deeply, and was very protective. No one could touch anyone he loved, and he made everybody know it. He reminded everyone he met, respect and honour your parents and don’t fight with your brothers and sisters,” read his eulogy.
“Family is family” and “blood is thicker than water”, he was quoted as saying.
Sam Levy was also involved in various charities. His friend, Kiki Divaris, of the Miss Zimbabwe Trust said of his death: “He was a generous individual who always supported me in my endeavours including the Child Survival Trust. He was a hard working, innovative and successful man who did a lot for Zimbabwe.”

Maryland. Known for its blue crabs, beaches, the Ravens, Orioles and its proximity to the nation’s capital, the Old Line State seems like a fantastic place to live. And, overall, it is. But there’s some places you definitely don’t want to call home here.
To measure the bad places in this state, we have to use two things - data and opinion. We’ve looked at a bunch of data, you know - crime, poverty, the quality of schools and home prices. Plus, we took into account YOUR opinion - that’s right - you Marylanders have a lot to say about which places in your states are great and which are not so great. So, while the national anthem may have been written here, it’s not all fireworks and celebrations in the places we’re talking about today.

Pemberton Park is located on Pemberton Drive on the west side of Salisbury, Maryland, just a short distance from Route 50. The park's 262 acres offers the opportunity to hike 4.5 miles of Maryland nature trails, appreciate the beauty of nature and participate in environmental education, historical interpretation or special event activities.
While hiking the trails, you will encounter ecosystems and their natural complement of plants and animals that are specific to many different regions of the Eastern Shore. It is rare to find any other place on the Eastern Shore where tidal and fresh water wetlands, fresh water ponds, upland pines, hardwood forests and meadows can all be studied within the same site. This unique feature, when coupled with the historical aspects of Pemberton Park, makes it especially attractive for school studies or a casual hike.

Salisbury is a city in and the county seat of Wicomico County, Maryland, United States, and the largest city in the state's Eastern Shore region. The population was 30,343 at the 2010 census. Salisbury is the principal city of the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is the commercial hub of the Delmarva Peninsula, which was long devoted to agriculture and had a southern culture. It calls itself "The Comfortable Side of Coastal".

Pemberton Hall (Salisbury, Maryland)
Pemberton Hall is a historic home located at Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland, United States. It is a 1 1⁄2-story, three-bay, Flemish bond brick house with a gambrel roof. The construction date of "1741" is scratched in a brick above the side door. One of Isaac Handy's (d. 1763), builder of Pemberton Hall, five sons was George Handy (1756–1820), a charter member of the Society of the Cincinnati. During the American Civil War, the Hall was the home of Allison Parsons, a Southern sympathizer, who insisted on firing a cannon upon the receipt of news of each Confederate victory. In 1868, the Governor of Maryland, Elihu E. Jackson (1837–1907), purchased Pemberton Hall with James Cannon at a trustee's sale. Seth Taylor owned Pemberton Hall from 1931 to 1963, at which time the Pemberton Hall Foundation took it over and restored the house.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

This diverse Shopping Centre and pedestrian Mall consisting of supermarkets, line shops, large and small stores, banks and specialised retail outlets is located in Harare’s northern suburbs.
Known as ‘The Village’, the original concept plan included a pedestrian only Mall, with peripheral external car parking.
Over its more than 30 year life span, it has developed to include restaurants, gyms and cinemas with changing purchaser demands and tenancy requirement.
Stone/Beattie were the original ‘Village’ designers and architects and have provided full services for architectural design; working drawings and schedules; interior design services; co-ordination of civils, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering services; construction contract management for the originally constructed Mall and to it’s numerous tenants and specialist shops for over 30 years.

Samuel Rahamin Levy (1929–2012) was a Zimbabwean businessman and property developer best known for his construction of the Sam Levy's Village shopping mall in Borrowdale, a suburb of Harare, in 1990. A self-made billionaire, at the time of his death he was reputed to be one of the richest people in Zimbabwe.
Levy was born to a Jewish family in Que Que (now Kwekwe) on 9 October 1929, and educated at Prince Edward School in Salisbury (as Harare was called until 1982).
He founded and chaired Macey's Stores Limited, a large supermarket group, in the 1960s. In September 1973 he purchased Duly's car showroom on Angwa Street, Salisbury, for US$1.5 million.
He converted the site into a department store and later a shopping centre, the Ximex Mall, which he sold to the National Social Security Authority (NSSA) in the late 1990s. He successfully stood in the Salisbury council elections in 1975, and served as a councillor for Ward 8, comprising the city's southern district of Waterfalls, until 1979.
Sam Levy's Village was designed in such a way that it has since been dubbed a "Little England". It includes buildings resembling English cottages and a clock tower similar to Big Ben, and originally issued its security guards with uniforms similar to those of British "bobbies". In 2012 Sam Levy was posthumously honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Victor Night Awards and Empretec recognised him as one of the Most Influential Entrepreneurs in post-independent Zimbabwe.
“He loved passionately and deeply, and was very protective. No one could touch anyone he loved, and he made everybody know it. He reminded everyone he met, respect and honour your parents and don’t fight with your brothers and sisters,” read his eulogy.
“Family is family” and “blood is thicker than water”, he was quoted as saying.
Sam Levy was also involved in various charities. His friend, Kiki Divaris, of the Miss Zimbabwe Trust said of his death: “He was a generous individual who always supported me in my endeavours including the Child Survival Trust. He was a hard working, innovative and successful man who did a lot for Zimbabwe.”

Harare is the capital and most populous city of Zimbabwe. The city proper has an area of 940 km2 (371 mi2) a population of 2.12 million in the 2012 census and an estimated 3.12 million in its metropolitan area in 2019, Situated in north-eastern Zimbabwe in the country's Mashonaland region, Harare is a metropolitan province, which also incorporates the municipalities of Chitungwiza and Epworth. The city sits on a plateau at an elevation of 1,483 meters (4,865 feet) above sea level, and its climate falls into the subtropical highland category.
