Stage Door: Patrick Marber on writer's block and football
In our new 'Stage Door' video series, playwright Patrick Marber takes time out from rehearsals of 'The Red Lion' to talk about the play - and why he loves non-league football.
Marber, who wrote the screenplays for Closer and Notes on a Scandal, had suffered a period of writer's block during which he supported his local football team, Lewes FC.
In his play 'The Red Lion', he looks again at themes of male identity, wrapped up in England's political progression from Thatcher to Brexit.
