Indian Pantheons: Crash Course World Mythology #8
In which Mike Rugnetta continues our unit on pantheons with the complex Indian pantheon, focusing on stories that were written in Sanskrit. We start with a violent creation story. We talk about the concept of Brahman, and the personification as three deities: Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Then, the goddess Durga teaches us how to behead a buffalo demon while riding a lion.

How to Create Interesting Gods and Pantheons
Religion is a big part of Dungeons and Dragons and many tabletop rpgs; hell, it's a large part of plenty of our lives. Creating a cast of gods and mythological figures is a fun and worthwhile pursuit; though it's one that often produces lackluster results.
By focusing on the worshippers in your world, you can entwine the members of your pantheon into your cultures, focusing on the meaningful ways in which characters in your worlds can interact with their faith, you can create something a lot more interesting than a carbon copy of the greek gods.

Pathfinder Religion Guide: Giant Pantheon
Hi there MythWatchers! Welcome back to my Pathfinder Religions series!
This week, following on from last week's Creature Feature: Giants video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYgDzqNkXq4 ), I'm tackling the Giant Pantheon. The giants of Pathfinder worshop many gods, some of which I cover here but many of which I have tackled in previous videos.
These are fairly obscure deities, and though some of these got a little more mention in the Giantslayer AP, which I drew on where appropriate, many are lacking in some key details including their holy symbols, which are described but often not provided. Where official holy symbols could not be found, I have provided my own based on the descriptions provided.

African Pantheons and the Orishas: Crash Course World Mythology #11
So, today we’re talking about African Pantheons. Now, you might say, that’s ridiculous. Africa isn’t a single place with a single pantheon, and we’d be fools to try and cover all that in an eleven minute video. You’d be right. Instead we’re going to focus on Yoruba religion from west Africa, and the Orishas that populate Yoruba stories. The many, many Orishas cover all aspects of life, and can be pretty specialized. We’re going to focus on a dozen or so.

The Roman Empire's Pantheon Of Gods | Lost Gods | Parable
In the 8th century BC, when the Greek city-states were coming to power, a group of tribes occupied the hills above the Tiber in Italy. They were farmers, and their gods were the Numan, faceless and formless spirits manifested in the powers of nature and the cycles of the seasons. But, as they grew into an empire that stretched from the Atlantic to the Dead Sea their gods would take on different forms. By the 2nd century AD, 85 thousand kilometres of paved roads carried their laws, currency, legions and beliefs to over four hundred nations. Their art, architecture and engineering genius still generates wonder today. It was Horus, one of their most famous poets who urged them carpe diem. How To Create a Pantheon for Your Homebrew DnD or TTRPG World [Ep. 05]
How do you start creating a complete pantheon of deities to rule and harass the denizens of your tabletop rpg or dnd homebrew world? 💥More below!⬇
You’re building a tabletop rpg or dnd5e world and now it’s time to create that homebrew pantheon, a slate of gods and goddesses for the population of your homebrew world to fight over or blame their troubles on. Player characters need something to have faith in and from which to draw power. Beings of light to worship and plead with, shadowy things to bargain and make deals with.
So yeah, you need some gods. And some demi-gods. Maybe some saints and some devils and some celestial family squabbling that leads to world-shattering cataclysms! In this video I’ll share how I’ve gone about creating the pantheon for my homebrew DnD world. And maybe s...

The Anglo Saxon Pantheon
The Old Gods worshipped before Christ by the Anglo-Saxons, roughly from about 2000 BC (before their tribal identity was solidified to be fair) to the early 1000s AD when the last pagan "witches" and "wizards" disappeared. Thunor took precedence before Odin took over, probably after 600 AD and possibly only in the Norse and Germanic pantheon in the first place, some think Thunor was always more important to the Anglo-Saxons and remained so, as they loved war above the wisdom that Snorri so admired later on.
Credits to CL for the great splash artwork! Also to R. for figuring out the PIE fable, which was the first one from the Liber Primus.

And in their day, they would seize the territories, treasuries and gods of other civilisations. They were the Romans.
From a time before time was first measured, humankind has pondered the question of God. As the image of that god formed in their mind, they fashioned it in wood, paint and stone and housed it in holy places. The ancient world was populated with gods beyond counting. Today, just one God dominates the world of believers. Where have the old gods gone? Our quest is to peel away the layers of time to examine the civilizations that brought the gods to power and honoured them with art and architecture and to discover the ultimate fate of the Lost Gods.

And maybe some of these ideas can inspire or help you in creating your own set of tyrannical, power-hungry, soul-eating deities.
