Page orientation
Page orientation is the way in which a rectangular page is oriented for normal viewing. The two most common types of orientation are portrait and landscape. The specific word definition comes from the fact that a close-up portrait of a person's face and upper body is more fitting for a canvas or photo where the height of the display area is greater than the width, and is more common for the pages of books. Landscape originally described artistic outdoor scenes where a wide view area is needed, but the upper part of the painting would be mostly sky and so is omitted.
Page orientation is also used to describe the dimensions of a video display. The most common video display orientation is landscape mode, especially the 4:3 ratio, which is 4 units wide and 3 units tall, and the more recent 16:9 widescreen landscape display mode.
Portrait screen orientation is also used for computer displays, though less commonly than landscape, and is the most popular orientation for mobile devices. Portrait is preferred for editing page-layout work, in order to view the entire page on the screen at once without wasted space along the sides, and for script-writing, legal work (in drafting contracts etc.), and other applications where it is useful to see a maximum number of lines of text. It is also common in public information displays.

In this video we will go over how you can change the page orientation and size (or even page margins) of a single page in a word document instead of your entire word document.
This could prove useful if, for example, you would like to insert a big table on image in a page, that wouldn't fit otherwise.
You probably know already how to change the page size and page orientation for your entire document. From the "Page Layout" tab, the "Page Setup" section click on Size to change the page size of every page in your Word document, click on Orientation to change the page orientation of every page in your Word document and Margins to change the page margins of every page in your Word document.
Here's what you have to do if you want to change the page size, page orientation and page margins of a only a single page in your Word document.
1. Go to the top of the page that you want to set to a different page size, page orientation or use different page margins.
2. From the "Page Layout" tab, the "Page Setup" section, click on "Breaks", then go to "Section Breaks" and click on "Next Page" to insert a next page section break.
3. Now go the top of the next page from the one that you would like to set to a different page size, page orientations or use different page margins.
4. Once again insert a "Next Page Section Break". From the "Page Layout" tab, the "Page Setup" section, click on "Breaks", then go to "Section Breaks" and click on "Next Page" to insert a next page section break.
5. Now simply go back to the page that you would like to set to a different page orientation, page size or use different page margins. From the "Page Layout" tab, the "Page Setup" section click on Size to change the page size of every page in your Word document, click on Orientation to change the page orientation of every page in your Word document and Margins to change the page margins of every page in your Word document.
You are done! You have now successfully changed the page margins, page size or page orientation of only a single page in your Word document.

- Now on the Layout tab, click the Orientation drop-down arrow and pick “Portrait.” You’ll then see the remaining pages turn back to portrait view, leaving the one page you chose in landscape view.

How to change the page orientation and size of only a single paqe in a Word document in Word 2010 and Word 2016.
In this video we will go over how you can change the page orientation and size (or even page margins) of a single page in a word document instead of your entire word document.
This could prove useful if, for example, you would like to insert a big table on image in a page, that wouldn't fit otherwise.
You probably know already how to change the page size and page orientation for your entire document. From the "Page Layout" tab, the "Page Setup" section click on Size to change the page size of every page in your Word document, click on Orientation to change the page orientation of every page in your Word document and Margins to change the page margins of every page in your Word document.
Here's what you have to do if you want to change the page size, page orientation and page margins of a only a single page in your Word document.
1. Go to the top of the page that you want to set to a different page size, page orientation or use different page margins.
2. From the "Page Layout" tab, the "Page Setup" section, click on "Breaks", then go to "Section Breaks" and click on "Next Page" to insert a next page section break.
3. Now go the top of the next page from the one that you would like to set to a different page size, page orientations or use different page margins.
4. Once again insert a "Next Page Section Break". From the "Page Layout" tab, the "Page Setup" section, click on "Breaks", then go to "Section Breaks" and click on "Next Page" to insert a next page section break.
5. Now simply go back to the page that you would like to set to a different page orientation, page size or use different page margins. From the "Page Layout" tab, the "Page Setup" section click on Size to change the page size of every page in your Word document, click on Orientation to change the page orientation of every page in your Word document and Margins to change the page margins of every page in your Word document.
You are done! You have now successfully changed the page margins, page size or page orientation of only a single page in your Word document.

In this video, you will learn how to change the orientation of a single page from portrait to landscape in Microsoft Word. This is useful when you want to insert a large table, chart, or image that does not fit well in the portrait mode. You will also learn how to use page setup and section breaks to control the layout of your document.
There are two methods to change the orientation of a page in Word: using page setup and using section breaks. The video will show you step-by-step instructions for both methods.
By the end of this video, you will be able to change the orientation of any page in your Word document without affecting the rest of the pages. You will also be able to adjust the margins, headers, and footers of your landscape page to match the portrait pages.
Method 1: Using Page Setup
- Select the content that you want on a landscape page.
- Go to the Layout tab and click the arrow on the bottom right corner of the Page Setup section of the ribbon. This opens the Page Setup dialog box.
- Confirm that you’re on the Margins tab. Below Orientation, choose “Landscape.” Then at the bottom, click the Apply To drop-down box and choose “Selected Text.”
- Click “OK.” When the dialog box closes, you will see your page turn to landscape view.
Method 2: Using Section Breaks
- Place your cursor at the start of the page you want to change before any text or items.
- Go to the Layout tab, click the Breaks drop-down arrow, and choose “Next Page.” This inserts a section break in your document.
- Stay on the Layout tab, click the Orientation drop-down arrow, and pick “Landscape.” This changes the current and all subsequent pages to landscape view.
- To return the remaining pages to portrait view, go to the next page and place your cursor at the beginning of the content.
- Go to the Layout tab, click the Breaks drop-down arrow, and choose “Next Page.” This inserts another break in your document.
- Now on the Layout tab, click the Orientation drop-down arrow and pick “Portrait.” You’ll then see the remaining pages turn back to portrait view, leaving the one page you chose in landscape view.

Page orientation
Page orientation is the way in which a rectangular page is oriented for normal viewing. The two most common types of orientation are portrait and landscape. The specific word definition comes from the fact that a close-up portrait of a person's face and upper body is more fitting for a canvas or photo where the height of the display area is greater than the width, and is more common for the pages of books. Landscape originally described artistic outdoor scenes where a wide view area is needed, but the upper part of the painting would be mostly sky and so is omitted.
Page orientation is also used to describe the dimensions of a video display. The most common video display orientation is landscape mode, especially the 4:3 ratio, which is 4 units wide and 3 units tall, and the more recent 16:9 widescreen landscape display mode.
Portrait screen orientation is also used for computer displays, though less commonly than landscape, and is the most popular orientation for mobile devices. Portrait is preferred for editing page-layout work, in order to view the entire page on the screen at once without wasted space along the sides, and for script-writing, legal work (in drafting contracts etc.), and other applications where it is useful to see a maximum number of lines of text. It is also common in public information displays.
