Newport (formerly known as Pavonia – Newport, Pavonia, or Erie) is a PATH station located on Town Square Place (formerly Pavonia Avenue) at the corner of Washington Boulevard in Newport, Jersey City, New Jersey.
History
The station was opened on August 2, 1909 as part of the Hudson and Manhattan Railroad (H&M), originally constructed to connect to the Erie Railroad's Pavonia Terminal. The capitals of the station's columns are adorned with the "E", and recall its original name, Erie. After the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey 1960s takeover of the system, the station was renamed Pavonia, or Pavonia Avenue, itself named for the 17th New Netherland settlement of Pavonia. In 1988, the station became known as Pavonia/Newport to reflect the re-development of the former railyards along the banks of the Hudson River to residential, retail, and recreational uses as Newport. In 2010, the name became Newport.
Newport (Cornish:Porthnowyth) is a suburb of the town of Launceston in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. Originally a separate settlement, Newport is immediately north of the town from which it is separated by the River Kensey.
APOEL FC (Greek:ΑΠΟΕΛ; short for Αθλητικός Ποδοσφαιρικός Όμιλος Ελλήνων Λευκωσίας, Athletikos Podosferikos Omilos Ellinon Lefkosias, "Athletic Football Club of Greeks of Nicosia") is a professional footballclub based in Nicosia, Cyprus. APOEL is the most popular football team in Cyprus and they are the most successful with an overall tally of 24 championships, 21 cups and 13 super cups.
In 1985 the Company started managing third party funds. In 1989 the Company established a partnership with Germany’s HypoVereinsbank
who acquired a 50% stake in the business; this stake was increased to 90% in 1998. In 2000 Eureko purchased HypoVereinsbank’s 90% stake and in 2001 went on to secure 100% control and consolidate their asset management activities with those of the Company under the F&C brand.
In 2004 ISIS Asset Management merged with F&C Management Limited to form F&C Asset Management and the combined business was then listed on the London Stock Exchange.
In 2008 Friends Provident announced its intention to divest its shareholding in F&C Asset Management. This was completed in 2009.
On 7 May 2014, F&C Asset Management plc was acquired by Bank of Montreal through its wholly owned subsidiary, BMO Global Asset Management (Europe) Limited.
Will it run? A 1961 Newport sitting behind a building for years!
This car is a great example of the style of the end of the Chrysler fin era, and is our 50th will it run/will it start video. Curves everywhere, a spaceship dash, and canted headlights up front. It is an incredible old car, but will it run? What will it looklike cleaned up? You will love the before and after of this amazing old car. Next week we tour a Tri-Five graveyard. The' 61 Newport is Back Home Again!
After being "missing in action" for three months, my '61 comes home from 40 miles away. Went to a car show there and the brakes went to heck. After several sets of issues it finally got fixed and back to me just before our first winter storm of between 10 and 14 inches.
Here it is safe and sound in its own garage. All set for the winter months.

1961 Chrysler Newport Convertible (Sound, Ride, Full Tour)
Chrysler updated the Newport nameplate as a separate model for 1961, and starting with 1960, all Chrysler models adopted the grille appearance from the Chrysler 300F. At a base price of $2,964 ($25,929 in 2020 dollars), the Newport was the least expensive Chrysler model, intended to appeal to owners of the discontinued DeSoto brand. While the Newport was successful and comprised the bulk of Chrysler production, the base Newport sedans were modest trim package versions of Chrysler's traditional upscale models, featuring smaller hubcaps instead of full-wheel covers, plain interiors and a minimal amount of exterior trim. By contrast, the next model up, the New Yorker, retailed for $4,870 (equal to $42,603 today) Advertising took pains to emphasize the Newport was not a compact car, describing...

By contrast, the next model up, the New Yorker, retailed for $4,870 (equal to $42,603 today) Advertising took pains to emphasize the Newport was not a compact car, describing it as "a full-size Chrysler in a new lower price range" and using "no jr. editions" as a tagline. In 1961, the Newport was available as a two-door convertible, two-door hardtop, four-door sedan, four-door hardtop and four-door station wagon. The base engine for the Newport was the 361 cu in (5.9 L) V8 engine rated at 265 hp (198 kW; 269 PS). Optional was the 413 cu in (6.8 L) and the 383 cu in (6.3 L) that was mostly used in the Town and Country station wagons. All Newports could have been ordered with the 413 either single or dual four-bbl carbs and most of the 300 letter car options, except the four bucket seats, center console, and tachometer. A three-speed manual transmission was standard, but seldom ordered. The dash had been designed with Chrysler's push-button controls for the TorqueFlite automatic in mind, with the gauge cluster covering the part of the steering column a column shifter would come out from under then-standard practice, so manual cars used a floor shifter.
