New Canaan Country School (abbreviated NCCS) is an independent, private day school in New Canaan, Connecticut for students in Beginners (age 3) through Grade 9 from Fairfield and Westchester Counties. The current head of school is Dr. Robert P. Macrae.

Prussia (compare Prussian education system) was among the first countries in the world to introduce a tax-funded and generally compulsory primary education for either boys and girls. In comparison, compulsory schooling in France or Great Britain was not successfully enacted until the 1880s. The state sponsored system was introduced in the late 18th century and has had widespread influences since. The first Prussian schools were simple one-room schools, however already as of 1773 Friedrich Eberhard von Rochow set up a model school with primary education in two age related classes.
Weston is among the 10 most affluent towns with 1,000 or more households in the United States and is the third-most affluent town with a population of at least 10,000 in the United States. House prices range between 2 million to upwards of 12 and 18 million USD. It is the only town in the Boston Area to have private roads, with state of the art police patrolling 24/7. Despite a population of just 11,261, Weston's area is only slightly smaller than that of its neighbor town, Newton, Massachusetts which accounts for a much higher population of about 90,000. As a result Weston's houses are on average much larger than those present in nearby towns, with considerable space between each individual residence. It has one of the lowest crime rate among Metro-west Boston suburbs. It was a dry town from 1838 until 2008. Incorporated in 1713, the town is located on a rugged upland plateau.
The station is 41.2 miles (66.3km) away from Grand Central Terminal. No connecting services (e.g. buses) are available other than local taxi cab services.
In 1998, the state began a 10-year lease (ending June 30, 2008) to the town 2.35 acres (9,500m2) at both the Talmadge Hill and New Canaan stations, allowing the town to perform some maintenance, repairs and cleaning while the state retains responsibility and control over major structural renovations and repairs. Money collected for parking goes into a special fund to be used for station-related purposes with the state's approval, and the state also must approve parking-fee regulations. The town has the option of renewing the lease for another 10-year term. Part of the agreement reads:

The town is one of the wealthiest communities in the nation. In 2013, New Canaan was ranked the 5th wealthiest town in the nation on CNN Money's list of the top-earning towns in the United States and in 2008 it had the highest median family income in the country.
Considered part of Connecticut's Gold Coast, affluent New Canaan has a reputation for being particularly snobby, along with neighboring suburbs. It is known for its leading Connecticut public school system, its wide range of architecture from the Harvard Five modern houses to historic New England colonials and farms, as well as many stately mansions and tended estates, plus a signature town center with premiere shopping, classic boutiques, an elaborate display of lights for the Holidays. New Canaan residents carol on Church Hill every Christmas Eve, a beloved town tradition since 1919.
