This short film features four of the oral histories, plus the interviewer and memories from Wyndham Thomas, former General Manager of the Peterborough Development Corporation.

What remains of abandon football ground Nene Park
Nene Park was the home of Rushden and Diamonds football club. The ground was situated in Northampton. Due to money issues Rushden and Diamonds needed to move from their home and this was later taken over by Kettering Town who also came foul to money issues.
The ground spent many years say empty before the choice was made to take it down due to lack of maintance on the site.

Located in the Visitor Centre, our gift and farm shop is home to delicious and locally sourced produce alongside a range of exclusive gifts, treats for the home and garden, games, toys and everything you could need for a great day out in the Park. You can get a flavour of the different ranges available in the shop.
All the proceeds made from purchases at our Gift and Farm Shop will be reinvested back into the Park, helping to maintain and nurture its much loved greenspaces.
Lakeside provides a hub for activity and relaxation. As well as being home to Lakeside Kitchen & Bar, it is where you can find Nene Outdoors Watersports and Activity centre which offers a wide range of Pay and Play activities such as pedalos, kayaks and paddleboards, courses, clubs and our cycle hire facility.
In the car park at Lakeside, there is an electric car charging point available for our visitors to use free of charge.
The Ferry Meadows Cafe is situated in a beautiful location overlooking Overton Lake next to the Visitor Centre and has indoor and outdoor seating and a range of meals, snacks and drinks. Lakeside Kitchen and Bar is situated overlooking Gunwade Lake in the Lakeside area.
Public toilets are located adjacent to the main car park by the Visitor Centre and by the car park at Lakeside. These are open daily during daylight hours throughout the year.
Accessible toilets are located within both toilet blocks and in the cafes. Baby changing facilities are available within the accessible toilet in both public toilet blocks and in the customer toilets in the cafes.
